Well if you really want to get into this discussion, the truth is that nobody was hit that much besides Elira. I think the boys lost a little bit of views, but besides the sub loss of some of the season one memebers, there were no significant vewership dropout. Yes, I've noticed that some members are still losing subs, but it's probably just YouTube scalping out dead subs. Majority of peopls still gain new subs, just really slowly. The numbers overall were declining slowly waaay before February. Most of it was due to people genuinely losing interested in vtubers in general.
If you don't believe me, look at VSPO EN. By all accounts, they were suppose to be big. JP girls are popular, people like gaming focused streamers, they were hyped and their brand had no reputation behind it. Still, all of them got the same viewrship as NijiEN right now. And the same goes for HolostarsEN
Overall, it has nothing to do with Niji's "bad reputation". People just don't care about vtubers anymore unless it's a blue dorito woman, and even then the new dorito women aren't as sucessful as the previous gens. It's not even about some kind of "Blue Dorito's secret idol/GFE formula" as every single small corpo that tried to do exactly the same has flopped. People just like their brand. It's like McDonalds. People don't go there because the food is really good, people go there because "hey, it's McDonalds, c'mon!"

I don't know what you even mean by "casual vtuber fan". There's no longer such a thing in general, it's all Vshojo/Holo/PC tribalism. Yeah, I've checked selfies of the guys that were meeting the girls at AI, a lot of them also watched Holos and small corpos and all of them were pretty chill. If it's this what you mean, then such people still watch and like Niji. Overall, this is how it is. I check people from Niji fandom, some of them only watch Niji, some of them also watch Holos or small corpos. It's no longer 2021 anymore, people don't like vtubing as a whole, just corpos and people that they personally like.
If you are actually talking about drama monkeys that watch False, then these people don't give a fuck about good things in general. They only want to see drama.

The 3D debuts of the boys were really succesful and a lot of members still consistently get donations. I don't think you should worry about "le boat sinking" any time soon when the last 6 3D debuts got 5 digits.
