Touhou 16th Popularity Poll Nameless Fairy 01/25/2021 (Mon) 10:45:04 No. 1738
Touhou 16th Popularity Poll is appearently starting. They have started voting (or preparing) for best pairing poll. I just found this out and probably missed something, like if character poll will come soon or already passed. Anybody keeping up with the news?
Here'a the date and countdown https://toho-vote.info/
>Best pairing Is there even a contest?
Remember that one popularity pool, which was a 10 layered sandwich?
>>1767 Why does Koishi gets a 3rd place? She's like so forgettable.
>>1774 Something something slasher girl. I'm more bamboozled by how Youmu consistently gets high scores when her entire personality is "JAPANESU STEERR FORDED 1000 TAIMU".
>>1774 Where were you when she eventually got the 1st place?
>>1777 Youmu is sorta dumb and naive, or as people put it "dorky".
>>1778 Who knows, maybe the heart-throbbing adventure will actually be finished. Also, has anyone played that Koishi-themed adventure horror game? The art style does look interesting, but the last time I checked, many people complained the English translation was garbage (up to and including two important plot choices which weren't translated at all and still were in moonrunes).
>>1780 >Koishi-themed adventure horror game I played it. Wew, lad. It's made in Electron (aka castrated browser for JS (((programmers)))), so it lags like shit, people on Steam complain it doesn't run on their 999 core threadrippers unless they restrict it to one core, in my case it refused to run on my laptop altogether, I suspect because of integrated graphics. The music is atmospheric but not something I would listen to outside of the game (save for a 3 second sample of reversed violin Cinderella cage in the bamboo forest cutscene). The gameplay is kind of like Fran Bow ultra-lite edition. The game is supposed to be a quest that requires you to solve puzzles using your third eye while also managing it's irritation with eyedrops, but the only parts where you actually use it are chapters 1 and 4 (and even then you're "using" it along the lines of "talk to npc->he tells you to fuck off->blink 3d eye and talk to npc"). If you run out of eyedrops (which you won't because they respawn either when you reenter the area or when you load, I don't remember) Koishi will fall over and instantly respawn in the same room with a doll marking the place where she died. Dolls do nothing other than saying random CrEePy lines and disappearing when you leave the room. The game's signature mechanic feels kind of like a tack-on to be honest. The puzzles are also "talk to everyone->pick up items->flash 3rd eye to pick up invisible items->talk to everyone in 3rd eye if you're still stuck". The story is primarily served metaphorically through SpOoOkY psychology book excerpts and is kind of shit even by Koishi's heart-throbbing adventure standards. I'll save you the trouble of picking up randomly scattered invisible toilet paper: Satori sisters' shitty parents neglected them until Satori learned to talk, then abandoned Koishi when her sister started showing signs of promise. Koishi now has to overcome her trauma and suppressed hatred towards her sister. There are 3 endings, the good and the neutral one you can pick between as the final choice and the true ending is basically failed neutral. Translation seems like someone tried to polish it after copy-pasting it from LEC Power Translator, but it's that godawful type of polished where I couldn't tell if the translation was shit and the story actually makes sense or if the translation was correct but the story is shit. Maybe the whole game will actually be 10/10 if you play in nip. The art is great. Kotoinari should have made a visual novel. So, only play it if you're a big fan of Kotoinari or Koishi's heart-throbbing adventure.
>>1781 Well fuck. The artist is legitimately good, but this sounds like it would a Unity shovelware game look decent in comparison.
Yeah I'm stupid. Last year poll was the 16th (where Youmu won the 1st place). But today is 16th Ex. It could be for pairing only. Well I hope MariRenko finally get the 1st place.
Well, it's here. https://toho-vote.info/result16ex/partner.php To the surprise of absolutely fucking no-one, Reimu and Marisa are the most popular couple again.
>>1793 >16. Seija x Shinmyoumaru (formerly 15th) >17. Junko x Hecatia >22. Yachie x Saki Surprised to them right among bunch of same old pairings of pre-UFO characters.
>>1780 Link to that game? Or just say its western shit.
>>1808 Koto Inari is japanese, but he's a westaboo
>>1808 Uh, I got it from a private tracker, so check the one near you. >>1809 It's funny, he was drawing almost exclusively touhou before releasing the game and the moment he dropped it he started drawing nothing but westshit like his entire art career was leading up to this moment.
>>1813 Well I say good for him. Though there was a time when his drawings aren't so much of dark western caricature until a sudden style shift years ago. Iirc there was no transition progress or slow change, he just suddenly did it.
>46th wat
>>1777 Her earnestness is refreshing for the setting.
