>tfw got home too late to watch it No movie trailer then? Weird.
>>13944 Apparently, that whole thing is up to Paramount instead of SEGA. And even though I missed the event, I do have the TC video covering the whole thing so I can catch up on what was announced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI-tBjjgg4g

>>13947 >TSR Overdrive reveal >Sonic He looks kind of off, something about the shading I think >Tails Gosh, they made him so cute. >Shadow Looks perfectly edgy I guess. >Bat tits She looks very nice! >Chao >in the animation This could be really nice. Pls don't fuck it up. >no dialog Ouch. Understandable because of the scope, but ouch. >produced by Kusumoto Damn, that was close. >first episode KEK. Not completely sold on the art but it works for what they are trying to do and the music really sells the whole thing. That was sweet. >tfw only one more part and that's it I swear I heard there were 3 parts and not just 2. Feels bad, they were right on the key when they mentioned fans wanting an animation with Modern, at least for me.

>>13947 >Iizuka talking about comic characters >sonic boom >TSR OST is 130 tracks long wat
>>13947 >q&a's first question faggot >Mania Adventures took from October to March for the first episode I realize some of the work they did in that time also contributed to the rest of the episodes, but is it normal for something like that to take so long? They just made some 2 or 3 minutes mute clips, it'd take them forever to make an actual full length animated show, And with the huge amount of anime and cartoons out there, does it actually take as many resources as they mentioned they take? Sometimes it feels like they're being too exaggerated.

>>13950 I think the animation team is nowhere as "veteran" status as all the eastern animations out there is. Even though Mania Adventures and TSRO are nicely done, the comparison to say, Shantae: Half Genie Hero is likely the budget the team is allowed to work with. Just compare Sonic X to this, and I think for something like this, you'd need a far bigger budget and team to make something X tier again. For indies, it's honestly inspiring, just think if cartoons on CN or Nick was like this. I'd honestly wish I could thank the team for pushing so hard to get what they could do done.

Am I the only one that genuinely think Sonic is, slowly but surely, getting better as a series then people are making it out to be? Yeah, Forces happened, it was rushed, and it missed a lot of marks that not only made Boost games like Unleashed Day Time, Colors and Generations work, and, what made the Adventure era fun for story telling, but ultimately, it's nowhere as eyebrow raising, nor as poorly made, whereas the mid 2000s games got, and ultimately, made Sonic into the mess he's became known for since. Then ever since Unleashed, the only thing people hate is the fact it's NOT like the 2000s era anymore. Which, to me, must be the people that grew up on SA1/2 first, and just want that era of style of Sonic, back again. I can also blame Sonic X for this too. But besides that, objectively, Sonic's games are nowhere as poorly made anymore, by comparison to what was coming out in the mid 2000s, and its only on a subjective, nostalgic value, is where the hate for Modern Sonic is current regarded from I think. Boom and the movie shouldn't be indicators of the series quality because they aren't fully SEGA's ideas. Otherwise, we'd have to say Archie, the AoSTH/SatAM and Underground, or those European comics are an indicator of Sonic's quality. Maybe quality control in terms of consistency, sure, but they shouldn't be key elements because many other game series with non game media tend to have never been canon to the original source. Hell, even anime to manga share this difference as well. As kids, we just absorbed it all in and think it should all related together because humans are flawed like this, give or take. Anyways, I just think seeing >>13982, the effort to make TSR good on its own, even if isn't everyone's cup of tea, is honestly speaks more good for SEGA to me then not. At best, SEGA has Evening Star Studios and Sumo to help make Sonic games, same with Diimps if they can come back. At worse, SEGA is just confused right now, where to take Sonic. I really do hope they stop pandering to the fans at this point, and genuinely start fresh again and move on with new ideas and concepts. No more clinging on to the past. The old fans are actively holding the series back. Generations, Lost World, and Forces, could have been better just being unique (and for Forces, more dev time), instead of wasting the time to make references to Adventure, or add in Classic Sonic again. If we do, someday, get an Adventure remake, let it be one and done. Don't do SA2, or anything after. All you're doing is entitled old "bad" blood back into the series. The direction Tee Lopes, Taxman and Tyson has been doing with Sonic, both Classic and Modern, has proven itself a good direction to take, without it necessarily, feeling like retreaded old ground. With a bit of creativity, and good perspective of what works for Sonic objectively, Sonic can become good again, without relying on his past. It might not ever be "as good" as the 90s, or the 2000s again, but that doesn't matter. As long as he's consistent, and SEGA has faith with their product, Sonic can be good again, for everyone to agree on. /rant

>>13985 I can never decide if Amy needs a redesign or not. On one hand, her dress is so obviously designed for easy panty shots it's hilarious. But on the other hand, it's fucking cute.
>>13986 Easy fix, just give her Minny Mouse panties.
>>13986 >her dress is so obviously designed for easy panty shots it's hilarious Would there be a way to prevent that without completely ruling out using skirts on characters?
(303.88 KB 720x522 ClipboardImage.png)

>>13987 Like these? These are bloomers. Amy's not the type of girl who'd wear bloomers, that's too "sissy".
>>13989 Sissy? Why is that? Really I only mentioned it because Amy is basically Sonic's Minny Mouse, appearance and inception wise. >>13988 But really, if I had to say anything, just make the dress smaller (as in not as wide in cone shape) and give her bike shorts.
(435.54 KB 722x1024 ClipboardImage.png)

>>13990 Bloomers are associated with "proper, ladylike" fashion. Like, what your grandmother or great-grandmother would've worn. That they're so frilly and loosely-fitted means they're popular for little girls to wear (or at least they used to. I'm not sure what common fashion is now). Amy doesn't seem like she'd be into that. She would wear either panties, boyshorts or bike shorts. Her Olympics outfit goes a long way towards fixing the issue.

>>13984 We're definitely not in another dark age like before, but I think what annoys a lot of people is the constant feeling that Sonic can be doing much better than it is right now. Seeing franchises like Mario & Zelda put some of their better titles to date probably has a lot of people scratching their heads as to why Sonic can't reach the same heights in some of his more recent 3D outings. And personally speaking, while the games are definitely more technically solid than the likes of Secret Rings or 06, I feel like the series should be aiming higher than just being better than that. Games like Mania are a great start overall, but SEGA still has a mountain to climb in regards to getting the Modern games where they need to be. >>13988 They could give her spandex like her Rio '16 Olympic games attire. Or skirt physics similar to her Winter 2012 skirt.

>>13992 >We're definitely not in another dark age like before, but I think what annoys a lot of people is the constant feeling that Sonic can be doing much better than it is right now. I understand this, and I get this, and with Mania happened, I can see this being possible. But the issue still is rooted with "what Sonic was" verses "what Sonic can be". Making a solid game is one thing for Sonic Team. But people genuinely are fighting between "Sonic needs to be classic era 100%" or "Sonic needs full SA2 kino to return" with no compromise in between. That's what's holding SEGA back. If they were to move on, start something fresh, and in the end, it was actually good content, would people, the old fans, actually move on with them? Or will they still cry and beg for an SA1 remake/SA3? Mario and Zelda never hit rock bottom like Sonic has, never. And would never ever in a million years, happen while Nintendo lives up to the standard they have for 50+ years. SEGA, for a lack of a better phrasing, doesn't have jack shit of a chance to be in Nintendo's shoes. They are no where as rich as they ever were when Sonic killed the stock market with Mario, nor do they have any of the talent left to even make a percentage of what was done during the 90s/early 2000s. Literally all of them are gone, with only like Iizuka, Jun Senoue and some others sprinkled in there, still remain, but not in the right seat, if at all anymore. Sonic needs new blood that has the skills, that has the passion. This is why Sonic cannot be what he once was, as of right now. It's been not enough time nor practice from SEGA's behalf, to make something consistent when it comes to Sonic right now. Consider that, only 5 years ago with Sonic Boom Fire and Ice, has Sonic ever gotten actual game delays to make sure games can be as passable as they possibly can. It's happen with Fire and Ice, Mania, and now TSR. And all of them, in varying degrees, has benefited from their delays. Mania would have looked far worse being released 5 months ahead of time, while TSR actually looks like they spent some time making it looks quite serviceable, even without some of the fan favorite content. Sonic in the 2000s would have been a godsend if they had what Modern Sonic has now, actual time spent to make the games as good as they can be. If SEGA keeps this up, and hire more competent game devs? Sonic might actually get back to his glory days again. But it's taking it's time, and the only thing we could do as fans, is criticize the rightfully bad, but actually support the content that actually tries and we can see the efforts, even if it's not as good as we'd expect, or, what we really wanted from the series.
>>13994 I think it speaks volumes that all we got about the latest Sonic game is that it's "in development". I think they're going to take their time with this one, just to have it ready for the 30th anniversary and knock it out of the park like Generations did. We are currently in a Sonic Renaissance.

>>13995 I really hope so anon. People may cry all they want about nothing new with Sonic, but Sonic needs this. If SEGA really is trying the waiting game for real this time, all we can hope is they truly make good use of it.
