This is a masterclass on the whole wasted opportunity in marketing and community sentiment thing or as you could call it good will and great word of mouth, the failure to capitalize on this and the incredible reception of 2.0 and 2.2 is honestly amazing
Now if they wanted to capitalize on the very favorable ratings and good will how would they do it?

It's been a year and most people who wanted them have them, 1 dupe on okay characters that get out performed by almost everything and even some 4 stars all duped up won't push the needle that much but the reception would have been the exact opposite of this in sentiment but the same in volume and you most likely wont roll the standard banner anyway because the weapon banner is more useful especially if you roll for characters and skip weapons
The thing is most people are hyped for zani, phroLOVE and carthetya anyway so giving out characters that showed up in one side quest at launch is a great way to give everybody something while losing nothing
Companies always forget how much word of mouth means for games and the positivity towards 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 should have been enough
