You can't arrive at the truth by reversing whatever sources you dislike say. There's plenty of independently verifiable information. Also why are you complaining about them having nazis on their side here of all places?

Depends on what you mean by legit. You can compare it to /pol/ in that a lot of the Nazi stuff is because it's a boogieman to their enemies (but that doesn't stop some of them from being sincere about it), except in their case the enemy is Russia. The core Azov people seem genuine about white nationalism and so on but there was also plenty of people who joined Azov because it was the group to join if you wanted to fight Russian proxies before the Ukrainian military got its act together. And even outside Azov you might see some Ukrainians soldiers wear something like the Black Sun symbol primarily to express support for Azov or hatred of Russia. Of course ultimately Azov itself is a small component of the Ukraininan military and the Azov political parties get something like 3% of the vote, they just get overemphasized through some combination of their own PR, Russia's PR, and by genuinely being at the forefront of the fighting. Though it's possible they'll end up having outsized political influence, since Ukrainians are going to have a pretty positive view of them.
