I'm PJ and these are my drawings. PJ 04/17/2025 (Thu) 01:04:42 No. 36 [Reply]
(By the way new anons, you can post more than one image per reply). Am I the best artist in the world? Not at all. Do I like my drawings? Yes, they give me peace and fulfillment. I'd like to be able to draw more professionally but I'm not dissatisfied with my art style. I tend to focus on my own world and characters. I've been building them for a while because I want to make video games about them. But I do like my art, even though sometimes I get a bit down on myself for not being 'as good as I should be' at my age. My main tools for art are an intuos pro medium, Autodesk Sketchbook (yeah... I don't know why either, I've just been using it for years) and Aseprite. I do this kind of digital drawing and pixel art. I'd describe my style as somewhere between anime and western cartoon although I seldom draw non-anime style. I'd like to learn though.

/mmg/ - Manga Making GEneral Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 05:58:12 No. 117 [Reply]
The general thread for Manga / manga-styled comic-making, manga-style illustration and related comic work. That said, everyone is welcome here. Support each other and talk about your work or the work of others that excites you. Inking, character design, paneling / layout, writing, planning, and other discussions are all welcome. Post resources, questions, in-progress pages, breakdowns of other works, etc. If a work is not yours, credit the maker (unless it's fucking obvious like a full page of One Piece or something). Thanks to everyone for making /mmg/ a level-headed and helpful place. Remember, drawing and making comics and manga are difficult endeavors, and we're all in this struggle together. Some western / indie publishers of Manga: Saturday AM ( https://www.saturday-am.com/ ) > Digital indie magazine, seems to be on the up-and-up > Open submissions for long-form series; also distributes series currently being published elsewhere. > Regularly publishes one-shots, making it a good potential outlet for already-finished work. Oni Press ( https://onipress.com/ ) > Technically indie, but at this point large enough by comic standards to be mentioned in the same breath as other publishers. Antarctic Press ( https://antarctic-press.myshopify.com/ ) > Longtime large-indie publisher of OEL / manga-esque books. > Seemingly taking submissions at present if http://www.antarctic-press.com/html/submissions.php is anything to go on. Yen Press ( https://yenpress.com/ ) > Started out as a small indie publisher of original / Korean material, and has grown reasonably popular since. > As of 2016, it is also one of the western arms of the Kadokawa Corporation, with Kadokawa owning a 51% stake.

Other open comic publishers: Dark Horse ( https://www.darkhorse.com ) >Dark Horse still welcomes your submissions, and all submissions will still be reviewed, just as they always have been. >All unsolicited story/series proposals must have a full creative team on board. Writer-only proposals will not be reviewed. Image comics ( https://imagecomics.com/ ) >Image Comics only publishes creator-owned material. They do not contract creators; they’re only interested in publishing original content for which you would retain all rights. >Image Comics publishes creator-owned/creator-generated properties and THEY DON’T PAY PAGE RATES. Image takes a small flat fee off the books published, and it will be the responsibility of the creators to determine the division of the remaining pay between their creative team members. Drawn and quarterly ( https://drawnandquarterly.com/ ) >Please email a low resolution PDF with at least 20 pages of comics and cover letter to submissions. >Publicly editable rentry for CSP assets. https://rentry.org/CSP_materials Feel free to contribute brushes you have purchased. Assets that have been deleted from the store are also welcome to be uploaded here. >CSP assets store wishlist. https://rentry.org/Brush_Wishlist >"How do I request brushes?" 1.) Please check the CSP rentry and encoded external rentry first before requesting them in the thread. 2.) If they aren't there, then you should ask the thread. 3.) Post a link of the brushes you're requesting. It will make it faster for the anons interested in purchasing them for the thread. >"What brush does this artist use?" / "What brush looks like this?" 1.) Search "brush (from:artisthandle)" or "assets.clip-studio.com (from:artisthandle)" on twitter if that's where they post mainly. Make sure to set it to the Latest tab to see the artist's tweets. Or use Nitter. 2.) Search brush posts on their Pixiv Fanboxes/Booth/Patreon. Then try to see if it's on kemono or archives. 3.) If none of the searches work, then ask here.

/ic/ is cordially invited to join us at the 4th Soulcalibur 6 tournament. You may choose 1 or 2 characters to fight (preferably a b-tan or character relevant for your board). The 4th tournament is being hosted here: >>>/icup/6376 It is an interboard game with CPUs fighting each other. Btw, this board needs a meta thread for invites like this.

The OC Redraw Thread Anonymous 04/17/2025 (Thu) 05:29:42 No. 51 [Reply]
Scorched Earth Edition 1: Post a brief backstory if your OC has one. 2: Character design critique and discussion is welcome. 3: Keep it fairly SFW. Lewds are fine but no explicit porn. 4: This is NOT a request thread. Artist Only. No spamming OC/infodumps for multiple threads without delivering. 5: Be sure to thank Drawfrens for their hard work as soon as you can, it's just common courtesy :^) Archive of previous thread: https://archived.moe/ic/thread/7538807/

>>59 I've yet to see you fill a request in these threads. You should do that so that other people don't just think you're coming here to beg for free art, it's bad form.

/ALT/ - Alternative Art/Stylization General Anonymous 04/17/2025 (Thu) 03:32:12 No. 50 [Reply]
What is /ALT/? If you're looking for a place to post your cartooning then you've found the right general. This is /ic/s 1st and only merged hub where both Eastern and Western stylization can coexist peacefully, hence the double title. >Rules & Guidelines (1) Any form of cartooning is welcome; so submit and receive feedback from others. (2) Please resize your images before posting. (3) Share your knowledge and (4) Remember to not be afraid of asking for critique. Most importantly, keep discussion at a civil level. >I came for anime. Why does the image OP say cartoons general? To distinguish from the anime study thread (janitor supported). Please post your studies there and personal work goes here. ------ >Community Resources >Tag the OP if you want a resource included here.

/mg/ - Mechanization General Anonymous 04/17/2025 (Thu) 03:22:03 No. 46 [Reply]
General dedicated to posting and discussing art of either: 1. Manmade objects, vehicles, tool, weapons etc. (of any kind and any historical era, as long as they fall in the ballpark of "technology") and fictional derivatives of such 2. Objects, vehicles, creatures etc. that aesthetically fall into the visual space of mecha/robot/artificial/cybernetics etc. regardless of level of realism. Helpful to mention the level of realism, if any, you are taking into account in the art.
