With this program you can convert a texture file into a .dds file, which can be opened in photoshop if you have the right plugin, or in GIMP. Once you've edited the texture, just use the same program to convert the .dds to texture again and you're done. All you have to do is put the texture you've edited in the right folder with the right name.
