Waifu flaws 16crystals 04/09/2019 (Tue) 05:49:56 No. 69749
Everybody has flaws, no exception, waifus included! Recognizing our loved one’s flaws is not a sign of lesser love. On the contrary, it shows that we are able to cherish our respective waifu for who she is as a whole, and not as some distorted illusion for which some features have been denied. So, what are your waifu’s flaws? As most Touhou characters have only a small amount of canon background, I therefore used a bit of fanon and headcanon to answer this question. Flandre is canonically known to be eccentric, and her long isolation inside the Scarlet Devil Mansion compromised her social skills a bit. She therefore sometimes has difficulties with social boundaries. Also, when she plays and gets excited, she might have trouble to calm herself down, which can make her look somewhat hyperactive and also result in the breakage of the things she plays with. But I really don’t care about such flaws! They don't prevent me from loving Flandre with all my heart!
honestly, I can't think of any she is just angellic maybe her shogi habits for an external observer but I find it super cute and wouldnt want to change it
Miia is very jealous and super possessive, but I really love that side of her. It's really cute. She also can't cook at all. Her food is basically straight poison. Though, later on in the manga in a one off line, it's mentioned that her cooking as became edible. It's a nice showing of how she's constantly trying to better herself to become her own idea of what a wife should be. It doesn't matter either way because I can cook instead.
Marisa's faults are very much well-known in the Touhou fandom: She blatantly lies without effort; Her two signature spell cards, Master Spark and Stardust Reverie, border on cheating; She constantly steals books from the Voile Library and also stole the Master Spark from Yuuka; She's prone in getting into fights easily; Her house is an awfully massive mess; She compulsively hoards stuff; Her curiosity usually gets the better of her; And, most of all, she is seen as a obnoxious imposition to others, even by the people closest to her. But see, this is because Marisa usually does what she wants, and I've always loved that sense of freedom, liberty, and independence from her. Her faults also charm the fanbase mostly, and ZUN said that Marisa is the closest relatable character to humanity so far. Also, this personality of hers, the faults and all, is what attracts me to Marisa, if were talking about internal traits.
I would argue that most flaws of fictional characters are presented as likable characteristics rather than something negative. It's part of why I fell in love with my waifu in the first place. In that sense, Youmu doesn't have any flaws to me. Objectively speaking, Youmu's character-defining "flaw" is inexperience. She tries her best with a lot of things but is overconfident and ultimately fails not because of a lack of ability but experience. She's also in a similar situation as Flandre in that she hadn't left her manor even once until the phantom incident following Touhou 7. Youmu only ever had lived in a pure world without any evil and still lacks some common sense of the outside world. A related aspect is that she's a rather gullible girl and because of this as well as the aforementioned characteristics, she's teased a lot. I personally feel conflicted about appreciating or denying those flaws because in the end, inexperience is not a constant characteristic. I'm sure that she's ultimately meant to lose this flaw.
Reimu is actually a very flawed character, but that depends on how you see some of her actions. As for me, I like to see them as flaws because that's what makes a character more realistic and in all honestly her flaws are one of the reasons why I like her so much. For example pic related is from the manga, although Kogasa did a good job, Reimu refuses to pay for her blacksmithing services and decides to test her new needles on her. Now that was cunt move but hey that's the raymoo I love so is alright. There's a lot of examples like these not returning books from Kosuzu, trying to scam people from the human village, blackmailing Ichirin etc the list goes on , the point is that she can be inconsiderate and mean at times, intentionally or not. But it is what it is and I wouldn't like to change it. Another fatal flaw is her laziness, which is cute and appealing but in worst cases that same laziness doesn't let her grow or improve, many times she got the opportunity to make the shrine prosper but decided to stop working cause it implied putting effort. Hell she even ate rotten food cause she was too lazy to go grocery shopping, as if she barely takes care of herself. I dunno what else uh Reimu is also quite mysterious despite being simple minded and brutaly honest, no one really knows what's going on her mind, makes me think that she has to open herself a bit more or something. I can go on about her flaws but I don't wanna write an essay just to arrive to the conclusion that she's literally perfect in my eyes so I stop here.
>>69757 >Hell she even ate rotten food cause she was too lazy to go grocery shopping, as if she barely takes care of herself. I once found this tiny comic strip; I thought it was hilarious! But reaching this point, maybe it has more to do with insufficient money donation than laziness? *Mods, don’t delete this pic! It’s not porn, it’s just a depiction of breastfeeding!
As 16crystals said, this counts for all touhou girls - the lack of canon. So I'll try to answer this question from what little we really know about my love. Well, let's start by disproving a fanon point: Meiling being lazy and sleeping on the job/unable to do it properly. To the point of being depicted as a lazy moron and a buttmokey at times. Well, this is not true. All this was born from a misinterpretation of a situation in the official mangas - where Sakuya scolds Meiling because she is sleeping on the job. But Meiling can do her job well even if she sleeps, because she can sense other's chi (source - Perfect Memento in Strict Sense). Sakuya was just worried of the potential bad image Meiling would give of the Mansion if someone saw her napping on the job. So this is not a flaw. As for the actual flaws well, she strikes me as the type of person that tends to keep all her negative emotions inside, and not letting them out. So even if she has a problem, she won't show it. Not really a flaw but something that worries me a bit since I wanna know if something's off. Then, well she tends to act before thinking. Impulsive, and emotional. This can be a double edged sword in a lot of situations, in my opinion. But as for other stuff, I don't know. Canon is too thin in this sense to see it, unluckily.
>>69759 I can't believe reimu is fucking dead. >maybe it has more to do with insufficient money donation than laziness? nah, in canon she may be a poorfag but she's not that poor. It was 50% laziness and 50% stupidity. Really that's a flow I would like to fix by teaching her how to not fuck up like that and i'm not the most suited person for that either, or at least take care of her whenever she does.
>>69749 Akeno is not that talkative and tends to keep her feelings to herself too much. She also wants that others rely on her but secretly she really wants someone to rely on. She can be sultry even when she really isn't. In battle she's a massive sadist so she can be really caught up in the moment and not notice other things. Akeno is known for being very sneaky, she has a technique that makes it so no one can notice her so that can mess with things where if there is something private she can find out about if she so chooses to. She is also very possessive, very protective and can get jealous of others
Her popularity.
Her flaws? They only make her better. She comes off as mean to a lot of people, though she really only is mean to those that deserve it. She also might not be very good at talking, but, we don't need words to understand each other.
I'd say her most noticeable flaw is that she's very apprehensive. The smallest issues will make her worry, and in turn this causes a lot of unnecessary stress for her. This flaw is a big part of her character. While I love every aspect of her, it does tug on my heart a little knowing that she's often very distressed. In a way though, it did play a big part in me falling for her. Back when I first met her, whenever I saw her sad or stressed I'd fantasize about comforting her. It was during these daydreams that I gradually began to realize how much she really means to me. She does have other flaws too of course. She isn't very book-smart, she's quite impulsive, and she can also get unreasonably angry on occasion, but admittedly I find these flaws to be more like endearing little quirks. They just strengthen her charm.
Susie has pyromania, so sometimes she has struggles with her desire to start fires and be around flame. She's also not very good in social situations, and is quick to creep people out. I love these idiosyncrasies and feel that they add to who she is.
