Civilization is inherently patriarchal as per virtue of human biology. Civilized societies, by limiting female sexual freedom, grooms females into women. I used to abuse the shit out of ativan (a benzodiazepine) because it was like switching off my emotions. It was blissful to not feel anything whatsoever. Any time I got angry or deeply sad I'd just take like 5x the normal dose and enjoy the void. Sometimes I'd be having a manic episode at work and taking ativan shut that down too. Sadly I developed a tolerance over the years so that even popping 10-20 pills at a time did nothing whatsoever. I miss having the choice to not feel. Having feelings sucks ass.
