>>18753 no way you're xduoo anon if so that's sad, pretty sure you haven't received any responses here or elsewhere lmao >Well if we choose sharty he'll come to sharty. well hopefully but at this point it seems like everyone is relatively split on the issue, and editor anon doesn't want to take a hard stance so we'll probably be stuck in this situation >Bro.. was joking, but i haven't heard any major issues. admittedly i wasn't all that active here but most problems i've heard about are at the site/board-level and history related rather than specific moderation fuck ups >>18757 probably sharty since it's also a /hpg/ thread if so i'm definitely sticking with this thread
>>18760 >no way you're xduoo anon Hey that's me. >if so i'm definitely sticking with this thread Why? He's based and an OC poster.
>>18761 don't take this to heart, but /hpg/ has been abysmal for the last year and more, and is just not useful in any way 712 and staxguy would have been tolerable if /hpg/ had anything of substance in it, but between the gaming headset advice the same shitposting, no wonder it fell through the gutter it isn't any different from headfi or reddit or youtube or forums or any other place, and the advantages of an imageboard are wasted when you consider the slow market and relatively high barrier of entry
>>18762 Well before I got banned on 4cuck I updated the OP to specifically tell people to go >>>/out/ with gaming garbage, but with 11 total posters it's best if we have a merged thread with Staxguy included. >it isn't any different from headfi or reddit or youtube or forums It is. Posting OC and saying nigger.
>>18764 >It is. Posting OC and saying nigger. that's a very low bar all that's left is just the usual imageboard banter which then begs the question: why even stick to /hpg/? /iemg/ benefits from the eq guide, a good mix of schizos and people that know their stuff, the gazette, and an extremely fast-paced market that suits ear dildo autists perfectly
>>18767 hpg benefits from all of those things just the same and as a matter of fact I use EQ on my headphones while I leave my IEMs as they are,
>>18770 /hpg/ doesn't have a dedicated gazette or eq guide, nor does it have anons that know their stuff (ie acoustics) or independent measurements
Ok enough bitching about where to move it doesn't matter. 4chud will be back in a few days surely.
>>18775 Why should we go back, even if it comes back? It's comfy here.
>>18774 The one from iemg works for hpg. There's no reason to split generals with a userbase of literally 11 people. >>18775 I'm perma banned on 4cuck so you guys should pick an alternative or you'll miss out on all of my amazing OC and I'll also be lonely.
>>18775 >who's telling xim >>18776 hopefully they take the time to update everything and actually have useful features, but knowing them they'll most likely be investing in more hrt >>18784 the difference comes down to effort and usefulness, which /iemg/ has a lot and is the primary reason why it managed to stay afloat /hpg/ suffocated on its own incompetence >you'll miss out on all of my amazing OC post oc NEOW
>>18786 I've been banned on 4cuck since November so I haven't made anything new but I used to post OC all the time. >which /iemg/ has a lot and is the primary reason why it managed to stay afloat That's kinda funny considering IEMs are cheaper, require cheaper hardware to run, and there's so much less variety compared to headphone technology. There should be way more material for discussion related to headphones.
>>18788 There's way more variety in iems. You got the standard headpos big 3 DD/planar/estat along with BA, piezo and MEMS. The only thing headpos has that pos don't are ribbons. Of course the thirdies here can't afford all that but that's a different issue.
>>18788 there should be, but it has been historically limited by people have the same talking points as reddit/headfi/etc. and not nearly enough technical knowledge and substance to counterbalance the shitposts/spam
>>18790 There's definitely less variety in IEMs. Headphones have closed, semi-open, open, over ear, different pads, head straps, dds, planars, estat, a billion different amps and DACs, etc, etc, etc. IEMs are good with a cheap portable dac/amp combo and you're done. >hihi but my custon shell with fox penis on it Nah with IEMs you don't need to spend more than $600 (on sale) and you're good with literally two pairs with two different kinds of tips. With headphones I can be autistic and get a 10 piece collection of different types in different price brackets and they'll all be significantly different and I can be further autistic by having different types of amps for them. IEMs are arguably the superior technology, but that's why they need less and have less actual variety. China just keeps shitting out new models all the time and reviewers are making shit up about how different they are. >>18791 Still no reason not to combine both threads like the OP in sharty did. We're a total of 20 people combined between both boards.
>>18792 >Nah with IEMs you don't need to spend more than $600 you could spend $20 and be done if you use eq >inb4 retards thinking money is a factor learn acoustics, you'll never reach perfection without eq >With headphones I can be autistic well this is the core of the differences between /hpg/ and /iemg/. the former is still clinging on to the hobby-aspect, the latter has for the most part adopted the optimal objective-based approach to sound quality, with a few anons still posting their impressions and such headphones in terms of eq and personalization are actually farther ahead than iems yet very few people seem to take advantage of that strength i hope you realize that there is no difference between having source pairings for iems and headphones. in fact i would argue that source pairings are even more important for iems
>>18794 >you could spend $20 and be done if you use eq This too. I was being generous because otherwise IEMs are a solved topic and there would be no reason to have a thread in the first place. At the minimum you wont get a good cable with a $20 pair. >well this is the core of the differences between /hpg/ and /iemg/ Either way, there's a million things to talk about with headphones, and combining the threads would give us one way more alive thread, especially since half of the topics intertwine. Doesn't matter anyways though because 4trannyniggercuck is gonna be back soon and all of you will go back and leave me.
>>18796 >Doesn't matter anyways though because 4trannyniggercuck is gonna be back soon and all of you will go back and leave me. ok cmon man you're making me sad now hopefully the bans get lost during their update and we can have a nice family reunion (impossible) in the end i don't really mind mixing both. it's still very early so we don't have a good judge on which im is better
>>18797 Even if the bans got wiped, they'll still ban me instantly. My OC is very easily distinguishable between the different boards I frequent, and I'm 100% certain they have my (static) IP written down. The perma ban itself was for a two month old post that I also didn't make. A faggot mod literally had it written down and searched it up to ban my static IP for that old post made by a mobile shitter. It's fully over for me. Before you leave me to die I just need opinions on the xDuoo TA-32 for IEMs specifically. I'm certain it would have noisy output with IEMs, not to mention sensitive ones, even on low gain. I already hear noise with my sliivo using my SMSL H300 on low gain (balanced output). I've heard upgrading the rectifier tube will eliminate that issue, but I've never had a tube amp before.
I want something anime but also not weebish so people think I’m weird. Looking for wired and good for J-pop
>>18798 totl/impressions anon here. there MAY be a ta-32 demo near me. i'll audition it on your behalf
>>18801 Like at some event? Do you have IEMs of different sensitivity using a balanced connection to test on low gain perhaps?
>>18798 very niche question so i'm not surprised you got no reply rectification with tubes i've only heard in guitar amp topics, not really for sound reproduction iirc it's mostly for compression and maybe additional distortion products, i haven't seen seen anything about reducing noise >>18799 get something with anime packaging (tanchjim, truthear, moondrop) or ball out and get custom epz faceplates >>18801 he's totlzo, he lives in singapoo near the hangout (crinacle's demo store) pretty reliable in terms of getting impressions of niche products so he can certainly help out, and the hangout has a ton of iems
>>18809 >i'm not surprised you got no reply That's because Staxchad isn't in here. He'd 100% know all the details. He has like 55 tube amps. >crinacle Lmao, I'm more of a Jay enjoyer, but I'll take any advice I can get.
>>18803 Not event. I live near a fuckton of audio shops, including an xduoo distributor so if I'm lucky I may be able to find a ta-32. >Do you have IEMs of different sensitivity using a balanced connection? Most of my totl shit are low-impedance, low-sensitivity. But I'm assuming (you)'re daily driving the sl41 mk2? So the closest equivalent in specs I have on hand is the salnotes zero. Alternatively you could list off commonplace chifi pos with similar specs, I may be able to find them at the shop as well. No Myer though.
>>18811 >sl41 mk2 Yeah those. Kinda butthurt I didn't wait for the CKLVX D62. Not that I knew they'd come out in like a month but yeah. This is one thing I don't like about IEMs as well, they just release ten thousand new ones per year. I'm also butthurt for Myer and don't know why you guys removed them from the rec list. Right now I'm debating between buying a pair of Studio4s or waiting for a new breakthrough Myer IEM in a slightly higher price bracket. The sliivos are very good though. >I live near a fuckton of audio shops That must be so lit. I live in a dead country where IEMs have zero hype and I have to really consider every single specific when ordering something so I don't fuck myself over.
>>18812 honestly i don't even know who is in charge of the rec list, or if they even post at all hell i think nobody knows, not even editor anon
>>18813 I can tell it's definitely been updated somewhat recently though.
>>18798 If measured at specified power, given SNR numbers imply noise level of 13.6 µVrms (unbalanced) and 12.3 µVrms (balanced) which would be bad (good devices have like <2 µVrms i.e. 16 dB quieter). Dunno about different tubes but doubt it makes a significant enough difference.
>>18812 kek, that explains why the sliivo posting suddenly stopped. i was wondering where sliivo anon went. >Kinda butthurt I didn't wait for the CKLVX D62 Don't be, the sl41 mk2 are a good buy. Better than the Vol S at least. >I live in a dead country No canjam or equivalent events?
>>18800 No one actually likes K-pop. They just like that the girls dress and dance like sluts
>>18815 Bad for IEMs or in general?
>>18816 >i was wondering where sliivo anon went Well there you have it. I was banned for no reason at all by a power tripping spiteful schizo 4cuck nigger tranny mod. >No canjam or equivalent events? Events? Lmao don't make me laugh. We have a store with "hi end" in the name that sells either literal garbage or overpriced memes.
(6.49 KB 194x268 Capture.PNG)

>my local """hi fi""" store's brand selection for IEMs LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>18817 k-pop is sovlless corposlop j-pop is kawaii sugoi ear candy >>18821 fwiw i was also banned like 7 times from posts other than mine, thankfully i have a dynamic ip so i'm good was also wondering where you were, funny to see you got locked out lmao >>18824 >has hi fi store lucky
