>>34869 won't say who i am as the style of my finished pieces is so distinct that it will be instantly recognizable, im not a big artist but im not a beginner either; i'll just say that you've seen my work here before and said that my style was pretty which i do appreciate regarding the sense of direction for improvement, oftentimes that's for you to find as no one will spoon-feed you the specifics on how to improve. if you don't look for directions to improve in yourself and always wait for a nudge or kick, you'll never improve or improve extremely slowly. you must be able to see your work from a critical perspective and ask yourself which areas look off or needs further improvement. one suggestion i can share is that you work on improving your line art first; a beautiful, flowing line art will always make a picture pop regardless of color or shading style. i don't know if you have recent work but based on the picture of yours i showed as an example, one thing you can work on in your lineart is its "flow" or it's "dynamicness." a human body, whether cartoon or realistic, will always have subtle curves and “motion” even if it’s a still image. the pic you have is very static as i've indicated with these arrows. i always try to give a dynamic, flowing pose and go with lines of motion within the body like these on the right. obviously im exaggerating the curves on the right, but adding that "motion" to your poses would make the resulting character more lifelike.
