>>44763 I liked this one more than the blue demon thing being used now. I know Tiffany was more "generic" but I assumed that was intentional and the idea was to use her in different costumes and shit. The blue demon thing, while cute, I don't understand why it's actually a demon thing, or what connotations that has with tickling.
>>44765 In retrospect, the way Tiffany was designed was old fashioned and set up for failure. People voted on each of her features separately, and as a result she ended up as a very inoffensive recolor of April O'Neil, who was her direct inspiration if you remember well. If you look back at the Grace thread, there was consensus on her. Tiffany was never used outside of a few comms because she was so unoriginal. She had no personality aside that she's an obvious sub. She had no canon clothes that people could draw her in. And it's not like we lacked artists back then. Tens of them came and went and she kept being the official pinned mascot on the previous boards. What lacked was a personality. The board didn't have nearly as much of a lore to shape a character around its quirks and references. People wanted to "make a good mascot", but they didn't pour the board's heart and soul into it, because there wasn't one to begin with. Back then all we had was James' game. And in a way, Tiffany reminds me a lot of that game. Cute but boring. Plus you have to account that I'm pretty sure the board is now filled with people who werent here at her inception 8 years ago. It's only fair people want to be a part in the board's identity somewhat.
>>44765 >i don’t understand why it’s actually a demon thing, or what connotation it has with tickling I’m pretty sure it’s because back when Lila was made, everyone wanted the new mascot to be some kind of tickle monster. Pic related is a popular tickle monster from children books that was used multiple times before in fetish art. (Usually you’ll find it in Rgevskyi’s commissioned artworks) The blue color, horns and feathered tail are elements you’ll find in a lot of tickle fetish themed monster girls. Maybe not all together, but these elements definitely are associated with us to some level. Lila isn’t exactly a succubus, but she is close to what a tickle monster turned girl would be.
>>44763 She's inoffensive. I don't think anyone particularly loved or hated her. I was there when she was designed and I don't recall the board rallying around her or identifying with her as something representative of its culture. Not badly drawn, just conceived the wrong way if she was to have any staying power as a mascot.
>>44765 >I don't get it
>>44763 I kind of like the simplicity tbh, gives off the impression that she could be any normal girl who just so happens to have a tickle fetish and visits the board every night in secret. Plus that first pic where she's doing the classic foot fetish pose with her legs teasingly crossed and holding the god damned feather between her toes while biting her lips like she can't wait for it to be used is so fuckin hot But then again, I can understand the argument that her simplicity is what caused a lot of people to view her as boring. Art is a medium where you can depict literally anything you want, and a lot artists use it to create these absurdly fantastical scenarios and characters with a ton of color and personality, so compared to all that, a "normal girl" is definitely a bit plain I guess the problem is mainly that she has to be the face of the entirety of tkr, and if we're going to go with just "normal girl who likes tickling as the baseline concept, then why her specifically? Why not just use any random girl? Pic related, I could see an alternative universe where this blonde chick is the board tan, but someone else in that universe would probably raise the same points about her ultimately just being a girl with not much else to her that you couldn't just slap onto another character. The reason why Lila is so popular is because she's unique and easily recognizable. The blue collar scheme, the yellow horns and semi-skimpy outfit, the tail with the ball of fluff on the end that's clearly intended to be used for tickling. It's all stuff that's exclusively Lila's and no one else's. When I look at Tiffany, I see a girl, when I look at Lila, I see the entire tkr board personified as an anime character
Tiffany is the mascot of normies... LIla is the mascot of based 8chan degenerates...
This. Anon makes a good point. Prefer her than the blue demon thing.
>>44767 >tfw whoever owned the board 8 years ago is still out there seething about how he lost control over it and can't ban lolis anymore
>>44774 IIRC she was meant to be an analogue to Vivian James
