>By merge is this permanent or another branch or /u/? (more below)
The context is with BO Vampyr retiring (who happened to own a lot of small boards) I decided I wanted to take it upon myself to pick up where Vampyr left off.
He owned numerous small boards, but I felt taking small boards into one board might be an excellent way to get numbers and activity.
It would be another branch of /u/ with this /u/ being the /u/ homebase.
I'll admit I was nervous adding /u/ & /ck/ (but all the other board communities for /8flags/ seem dead, so it's probably no biggy), but for /u/ and /ck/ I also personally liked those topics myself and for /u/ it's been an on-going joke that other politics-tan would play /u/ with our board-tan Grace. (/flags/ Mr. Eight & Grace will also be represented there).
I have been BO of
>>>/monarchy/ for years & my motivation w/ /8flags/ is to try the opposite kind of board: having owned a politics board for so long and rambling there like an echochamber, I felt a deep motivation to test myself and try another kind of board and see if I would have better success there. Something less serious is what I wanted.
>Is your board worksafe or not?
/8flags/ is NSFW.
>saw few post redirecting “dick pics”.
Oh, there are no dick picks.
That was a joke to get gullible anons to look at the board.
I guess the other communities can have dick pics, but ideally I wanted it to be dykes only or for /u/ to predominate.
>At least inside the would-be /u/ thread in 8flags, would your moderation remove such thing?
Yes, except in hybrid threads that are with other board topics.
For example, if a thread is labeled /u/ + /mlp/ it might be permissible.
Tell you what, I could promote you to a volunteer and let you manage the /u/ threads. The /8flags/ idea is a bit fresh and experimental for me.
If you make a /u/ general, the quality of it being a /u/ should be maintained.
>Quantity is what /8flags/ seems to be aiming for.
I'll confess, I'm a literal autist myself and struggle to quality post.
My main goal for /8flags/ atm is to simply get higher PPH & activity.
In terms of quality, as a baseline, ideally the thread topics and forms will be preserved, but post quality within those confines I want to be free-handed with.
If a thread is not specifically a /u/ general, there would ideally be mingling.
This is a tricky situation I've considered and I might have to be apprehensive on how this is laid.
I imagine a /fast/ poster or a /k/ poster could go into a /u/ thread and comment on the /u/ stuff, maybe a /fast/ contribute Amy x Rouge or make a /u/ + /fast/ general? this we'd have to discuss, but the ultimate goal is having a hybrid board with moderate mingling, while also trying to maintain the integrity of some of the generals.
Recently I had a /k/ post in a /fast/ + /mu/ general and deleted those with my janny powers, so right away I was confronted with this dilemma about the board going forward.
There will be generals or branches, but I also would love to see /u/ or "dykeposters" kinda surfing in the hybrid or undefined threads. I'm hoping that with interaction between the board topics could be interesting.
TL;DR:
Yes, I am looking for more quantity, but I do want to maintain the baseline quality of the generals.
