They're using redanon because most of the people who posted on this splinter of the original 8chan are still holding onto a lot of the original "take green anon and make it red" edits

The issue with most imageboards that aren't 4chan stems from the fact that a lot of them are "themed" and as such require a specific mindset/interest to peruse them, or rely mostly on the "At least we aren't [that group]" mentality.
>2014 8chan
>splinter of 8chan run by Mark, owner of the /v/ board of 8chan
>"webring" splinters owned by smaller boards of 8chan who didn't want to associate with Mark
>7chan
All of these exist in the latter camp, and as a result, at least a portion of their culture stems from the fact that they're not using 4chan
>Wizchan
>Tohnochan
>Lainchan
>420chan (no longer alive, may it rest in jenkem)
These exist mostly in the former camp, and complaints about other imageboards are extremely minor if nonexistent

The music of Plus is probably the only worthwhile thing you could pull out of it. Some of the problems stem from the fact that it had console variants (loss of actively having to navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common to continue the story hampers the narrative a lot), and like you (and the guy who already replied to you) said, the side stories don't really have much of a reason to exist beyond "Dan felt bad and wanted to do massive rewrites". Hence why Natsuki went from "Strict father in Act 1 to actively abusive father in Act 2" in the base game to "Her friends are meanie butt doodoo stinky faces" in the Side Stories and Yuri went from "Running the risk of being a stuck up intellectual" in the base game to "I'm bad with people sad face" in the Side Stories
