After a discussion with my co-manager and taking the opinions of the thread(s) into consideration, we have made a conclusion on how we want to move forward with the team going into Spring. As it stands, we will be taking the results of the roster poll and making the top 4 medals for this cup. However, if /vt/ does come back by Wednesday, Thursday at the latest, we will hold a short medal poll.
We ultimately wanted to have a 2nd poll to figure out the medal players because, as multiple people have pointed out, roster votes ≠ votes for medal. We each had our reasons as to why we are not at this moment. My co-manager expressed concern polling on websites that are not explicitly 4chan, even if a majority if not all the users are from /vt/. My concern was with how divided users of /vt/ are at this time, we would have to drop the poll into splits, which would lead to an unfair advantage to threads with more users in them.
Going back to the first poll, I've read your criticisms of how the poll was arranged and carried out. Some of you astutely determined that this poll was a recycling of the one used the last time, but with newer choices from the newer teams. I will admit that I dropped the ball with regards to NijiEN reps, and I'll take the blame on that. Next poll I'll do a better job at getting more up to date players for them and other communities that felt got the short end on the quality of choices. Secondly, I understand there was criticism with the amount of choices this poll, we will be reviewing how to determine what should be a choice, and how to better arrange the choices for easier polling. The Keep/Remove section will be returning next time, as it was only abolished this time around since it had been 9+ months since the last roster poll.
That's pretty much it for now. Spring proper starts in 2 weeks. If you have other questions I can answer them to the best of my ability.
