I'm not so sure. I mean yeah, as a general rule, having to clean up bodily fluids is disgusting, but it's not traumatizing. Most people just see it as gross and inconvenient. Some people are really blasé about it.
A lot of mothers love the baby years. For some people it's their favorite period of raising children.

>>47907 said it's mostly just because our brains tell us babies are cute. And everything associated with them is cute as well. Including diapers and having to change diapers.
IDK though for some women that same mentality seems to go beyond children as well, maybe something gets a little crossed when it comes to female psychology like this.
There's a few examples I can think of of women who also extend that same idea of diapers being 'cute' to caring for adults as well.
It sorta leads to this weird thing where certain women won't be ABDL, and it's completely non-sexual for them, but they still have a weird fascination for diapers. Whether it's associated with babies or adults. I can think of two female youtubers who review diapers and baby products but also talk about adult diapers and ABDL products, despite claiming to not be into it, they just have a fasciantion with diapers as products.
Also, if you've ever been to Diaper Depot in Atlanta, the woman who used to run the shop (Helen I think?) had that same mentality. She had a caring personality and thought diapers were fascinating, but very adamantly claimed she wasn't ABDL. However, she occasionally wore diapers herself just to see how they performed as products.
