Tbh when someone posts a gripe about spending bill for some deleterious cause, I.e. "Politicians are spending X amount for Y, can you believe it?" this is crypto libertarianism, so it's poison. All concerns explicitly attached to spending are fiscally-conservative, socially-progressive, they are wrong headed. A government should not even be interested in bad causes except to stop them, fair enough. But worrying about spending is worrying about failed boomer methods of fixing things, positive policies are best and they need to be enacted no matter the cost, fiscal or otherwise. Alerting others to spending concerns is giving "breathing room" to libertar(d)ans who never amount to being anything more than spineless, asocial, deadweight.
So again when someone says "Politicians are spending X amount for Y, can you believe it?" One should shut the person down by replying "Even if it cost nothing, why should anyone be interested in such a topic to begin with? The best way to handle Y, is Z. Don't you agree? It's hard to believe anyone thinks that way." Then the first person can demonstrate his loyalty with the proper response, which should be now be far away from anything even remotely resembling the fiscal conservative motive which he potentially (probably) had in mind.
These people who want to make politics into religion just sicken me. Oh yeah I have the right view about this national policy, that means I myself am good. Cheap lip service like this is too easy, and forming opinions based on fiscal government issues, guarantees that the discussion is far away from anyone's personal life. Meanwhile the person in question is a degenerate, doing whatever it takes, making associations with whomever, to make a little more money to "improve" his personal life at expense of the national interest. Improve in quotation marks because what good is there in buying anything with such money, when society has been neglected and thus degenerated round a man.
