So this was pretty fucking wholesome and now I'm fucking invested in Serenity's story. Is there any word on continuations? Last bit of news I saw was 2017ish and seemed like he was looking for a new place to put his ideas down.

Bump for the holiest of days. I always reread Serenity on Easter and have grown to appreciate this book, despite its faults.

It's due to practice drawing the comic and likely figuring out better workflow over time. Drawing a multi page comic, even a simple one, is a lot of work. You have to plan out and simplify certain things to ensure good working pace, or you will end up burned out mess like Miura. In Serenity you can see a beginner artist thrown into a deep water and slowly learning and growing as the series progresses.
