You are free to operate your own board however you want. Personally I thought you guys just quit and went back to 4chan when I did not see the board in the top. As a word of caution, you will need some form of visibility if you want to grow your community, and if a lot of anons are from 4chan who are used to very high PPH(posts per hour) this place will seem dead to them, they leave, and this reduces the PPH even more, thus spiraling into death. Again, you are free to operate your board however you want, I just hope you have plans to either maintain your community, or at least know how to invite new members to replace the ones that leave.
One more thing, you might want to know, is that the board /2434/ is also made out of refugees from 4chan, they made the board about a year ago, because of too much spam and moderators working against them, but they quickly returned to 4chan probably because of low PPH, but after the spam became even worse they managed to settle here for good. They don't have that high of a PPH, but they constantly remain in the top boards, so there are about 10- 20 people who keep it alive. You could try to converse with the BO from /2434/ to see how they managed to consolidate, as they probably have the same backstory as you guys have.
Again, I wish you the best, and hope you can settle here.
