Any games you played lately /fast/? Any you beaten or just started playing?

>>15412 Finished Prototype and RTCW and Wolfenstein 2009. Might start playing Prototype 2 just because I have it available and I've never played it and I've recently finished the first one, but I hear it's not very good and I'm kind of reluctant. Not much on the Sonic front unfortunately. The recent talk about that sprite fangame has made me want to give the Advance games a try, which is something that I've wanted to do for a long time but I always get lazy getting everything ready and eventually forget. I wonder if the /sthg/ RTCW fan followed us here.

>>15413 Neat. Speaking of Advance, I just got done playing the first one on a emulator, and it was ok. I might be biased thanks to Mania, but as it was, it had some nice parts about it, physics being one of them, but the level design wasn't my forte, at worse felt "romhacky". Lots of spikes and hard to read hazards that made the experience felt cheap and jerky. Not to mention, short. Even after 2 game overs, it only took an hour and a half to beat it first time with Sonic. But I hope you get to enjoy the Advance saga yourself, to me, Advance 3 felt better to play, outside of the special stage and hub world part of it.
Damn, seems like IDW Sonic is doing quite well. >Today, IDW announced three recent editions–issue #14, #15, and the first Annual edition–have sold out at the distributor level >Comichron estimates more than 11,000 copies of Sonic #15 sold during the month of March, with a similar amount sold for Sonic #14 in February http://www.tssznews.com/2019/05/08/idw-announces-sellouts-for-sonic-14-15-and-annual/

>>15415 Oh and there's another thing I liked when playing Advance. Or moreso, what I liked that Mania actually referenced. There's this zone in Advance where you spin around a "bowl" before it drops you down below it to a lower level. Well, Sonic Mania actually referenced that in the Studiopolis Zone, with the exact same sound effect used there as well. So yeah, Mania isn't all just Genesis era, there's quite a few nods to Advance, to even Modern era stuff like the pulleys in Green Hill Act 2 coming from Splash Hill Zone from Sonic 4, and the Color's announcer reference also in Studiopolis. I think that's how you should homage past levels in my opinion, instead of SEGA always reusing entire old zones again and again.
>>15420 >Mania isn't all just Genesis era wtf I hate mania now
>>15416 Huh. So it's staying at a nice ~11k. Good to see there's a solid base for the comic

What are some good platformers similar to Sonic? Besides Freedom Planet, of course. I wanna find another interesting franchise to waste time in
>>15418 That's some really nice fanart. Who's the artist?
>>15430 >similar to Sonic Socket the Time Dominator and Spark the Electric Jester
>>15430 If you're looking for one to one Sonic gameplay… There is none, as far as I'm aware of. Genesis is unrecreated outside of by Taxman and Stealth, which brought it back to Sonic. The only thing similar, far more than FP is actually, is Spark the Electric Jester. The only other thing I can think of that just happened recently was that one Cat Duo game revealed last SAGE that I can recall the name of.
>>15417 Probably a family issue. Hope he's doing well, at least >>15432 >Socket the Time Dominator Huh, never heard of that game until now. How is it?
New bread when
>>15435 Never played it. I only found out about it years ago when I had an interest in romhacking. It's not very good from what I've heard
>>15436 I'll need to update the OP, but I can whip one up real quick
>>15435 I looked it up myself and it's a 90s Genesis game that like a mix of Sonic and Mario. Feels like a game that takes less of the momentum of Sonic's Genesis gameplay, and focus more on platforming with some slopes thrown in here and there. It does have some quality music then you'd expect tbh.
Is it me or are the posts centered now?

What are they reading /sthg/?
>>15443 Forces concept art and interviews
>3 legged race Uhhh… lewd? I finally got around to playing this Didn't know there was a kind of chao garden in it.
>>15445 I forgot which advance game that is.Anyway, do you plan to trade them over to one of the adventure games?
>>15438 Looking forward to it, there's something I want to post when it's up.
>>15446 Not him but that's from Advance 1. I actually kinda forgot that was even there just 2 hours in playing the game for the first time.
>>15446 It's the first one. I haven't played any of them so I'm starting with the first one and moving up from there if they're good enough. I wasn't a fan of the chao garden in the Adventure games but it's kind of a good sign that there's additional content, seems like there's might be a good effort behind the game I still haven't played any stages, I've been dicking around in the garden since I booted it up oh god. >Anyway, do you plan to trade them over to one of the adventure games? The what now?
>>15448 Are you also going through Advance 1 for the first time right now?
>>15450 I already did yesterday actually. I was the one that made this post >>15415. I hope you enjoy yourself anon, I'll see if I can go back and replay it again with another character.
>>15449 You can trade the chao from Advance 1 into SA1/2, but only from GBA native to SA1/2 Gamecube native. You can get exclusive type of chao from the Tiny Garden and send them to SA1/2.
>>15361 Cool, thanks for the pic. Love the packaging. >Warning: disregard instructions Kek
>>15449 You can trade chao via link cable between the gamecube versions of the adventure games and the gba advance games >>15448 It was kind of the opposite for me. I learned about the existence of the sonic advance games from a friend while discussing chao. s he let me borrow their copy of advance 2 and import the exclusive eggs
