>>14770 I would love to see something like the Unleashed intro, or maybe the opening to SA1 get a re-rendering like that, tbh.

The character portraits in TSR are great. I remember thinking that the renders they used to create always looked weird but lately they have been acing them.
>>14808 I think they got a new model or something, Sonic looks like the one in the latest Wreck it Ralph and Knuckles legit look like his SA1 version in HD, nothing like the Forces model. Maybe that's a good sigh for what's to come in the future for 3D Sonic.

So given the movie trailer being shown at CinemaCon, what are the odds it becomes public within the next month?
>>14835 They've shown it at several conventions already so unless there's something special about CinemaCon that makes it different from the rest I'd say there's probably no correlation between the two. Having said that I think it's pretty amazing that it's coming out in 6 months and literally not a thing is known about it so far, so they're gonna have to release it sooner rather than later and the more they wait the more likely it becomes that it'll drop in the near future. I can't help but wonder if there's more to this delay than we know.
>>14836 I imagine it comes from how negative the reception stuff like Sonic's design has been so far. That being said, yeah, this movie is out in just a few months, you'd think Paramount would try to promote it a bit more than just privately showing the trailer off at conventions. I get that SEGA isn't really going out of their way to advertise the movie, but it makes no sense why Paramount is acting so hush-hush about publicly showing stuff off.
>>14837 They know it’s a lose-lose situation, and that it’s going to be worse than putting Fantastic Four to the cinema a third time (all video-game based movies are horrible, so no surprises really), so they’re trying to keep it on the down-low so we don’t have to get angry and flood the internet with our “Dear, assfaces…” schtick as much as they expect it to happen. Especially knowing Sonic is a doomed franchise at this point. Fun Fact The original Sonic Creator Yujinaka was fired shortly after completing the first game way before Kojima disowned Konami (and the other way around) for treating him, and his genuine complaints, like shit. It was shortly thereafter he was hired by the American Sega Branch, but a man can only keep a franchise alive for so long if a company’s greedy enough. In the words of Mr. T: >”I pity all them fools!”
>>14837 >I imagine it comes from how negative the reception stuff like Sonic's design has been so far. The thing that confuses me is that according to (((some))), the reception was not that bad with the people that attended the private showings. So what gives?
(502.28 KB 506x893 1517111550923.png)

>>14839 Most people are mixed by saying it's not amazing, but it looked far better in motion then anything they've seen already with the leaked images. Because let's make it clear; The Sonic fanbase is LOUD and seen as one of the most "autistic" fanbases on the planet. The second it was made clear that website leak was real, and then the old screenshot of a early take of the movie was leaked the very same day, everyone went apeshit. It was spamed all over, so most that view things online knows about the design, even the original Sonic Team staff knows now. That outbreak likely, to put it bluntly, fucked themselves up and think what they hoped for was for not. And imo, that's saddening, because it really makes it hard to do anything with Sonic anymore. The Sonic fanbase is as bad with change as elderly people are about racism and sexism of the early 1900s. It's that bad.
(681.06 KB 2002x2046 D4slPTOVUAAZu7A.jpg)

It was Knuckles Chaotix's 24th anniversary the other day.
>>14840 Dude, it's a Hollywood video game adaptation that's made every single cliche terrible video game movie mistake, already, It's not going to be good. Whatever hopes Paramount and SEGA had for it were poorly placed before the design was even known. >it really makes it hard to do anything with Sonic anymore. But it doesn't. Mania did incredibly well. The comics were/are well-received, and just keep getting fucked over by their publishers. Boom was praised, but got fucked over by CN. Every single recent time the fanbase has a strong negative reaction to something Sonic, it's because it's bad, not because the fanbase is allergic to change. What's making it hard to do anything with Sonic is the incompetence of SEGA.
>>14841 Nice. I've never played this game, but I do appreciate the fact that some of (at least imo) the most underrated characters in the series came from this. I should probably play it someday, honestly.
(262.79 KB 480x361 1517357253797.gif)

>>14842 Good points. >not because the fanbase is allergic to change. Well maybe it's just a minority being loud, but for the most part, you're not wrong. But let me put it this way: If you made a boost game, regardless if it was Unleashed - Werehog good, Adventure fans want SA3 instead. If you make Mania 2, same thing. If you got SA3 at this point, it's likely not going to be good on the surface value without 2000s era "soul". It's like Kingdom Hearts 3. It's amazing, but it's 15 years of hype that likely never got fully realized. Then you got archiefans still made Sally and co aren't in the games. That's what I mean, I firmly believe SOnic is far from unusable, but the fanbase can, and has, doomsaid the state of the series to an overexagerated state, but to outsides like Paramount, or even Sonic Team, it's for real to them, not a joke.

>>14834 I find the Planet Wisp level select theme quite melancholic and depressing.
>>14840 >And imo, that's saddening, because it really makes it hard to do anything with Sonic anymore You make it sound like it's the fault of the Sonic fanbase for not accepting the crap they try to repeatedly shove down our throats instead of the fact that they're trying to shove crap down our throats. >>14844 I believe that while people are still going to request and root for the things they like the most, that's not going to stop them from enjoying a genuinely good game, specially at this point where Modern just hasn't been able to catch a break in some 8 years. I think the state of the series is somewhat exaggerated, but these last few years haven't been the best either, man, with Boom, the exclusivity deal, the periodic issues with the comic that ended with its loss, the very few games that were released and the poor quality of those that did, and now with the movie. One thing that always bothers me when people talk about change in the franchise is that most of the time it's implied that the fanbase should accept any change period, and it bothers me not only because the results we've gotten have been far from good, but also because it sounds silly that we should accept changes to things that we know and like just for the sake of it when the right thing to do is to build up on things instead, and create something that works with the previous things that people liked. I can understand deeper changes in some cases provided that they're reasonable and well thought out and maybe spanned over time, but at this point warping things even more than they are now like by messing around with the characters' looks and their personality is very hard to get behind.
(125.05 KB 352x264 1517966971714.png)

>You make it sound like it's the fault of the Sonic fanbase for not accepting the crap they try to repeatedly shove down our throats instead of the fact that they're trying to shove crap down our throats. Well, I wasn't. In fact that simply goes into what I mean. Said "Crap" is something some one in the fanbase, likes. SA1/2 is dogshit to you? Well millions still want SA3. Or, did Boost era Sonic tickle your fancy? Well too bad, most of the fanbase apparently hates it. And don't get me started on people that either praise the classics as god or loathe classic Sonic because "it's inrelevent/only liked for nostalgia" as they post a SA2 image. It's not the fans fact really. But the aftermath of SEGA's handling of the series, makes it a issue that cannot be ignored. The fans retroactively taint the series as badly to others outside the fanbase then the company themselves do to the fanbase. Comments like "No wonder the fanbase is crap, they hate everything SEGA makes for them!" Or "no wonder Sonic games are crap, no one can agree which ones are good or bad!" Etc. I blame SEGA overall, but please don't handwave the fanbase like normal people don't be quick to blame that before the company (see Smash fanbase) >One thing that always bothers me when people talk about change in the franchise is that most of the time it's implied that the fanbase should accept any change period, and it bothers me not only because the results we've gotten have been far from good, but also because it sounds silly that we should accept changes to things that we know and like just for the sake of it when the right thing to do is to build up on things instead, and create something that works with the previous things that people liked. This, is, what I want too. I think the issue most of all is simply, what are the best traits of Sonic people genienue want? The problem is a lot of things simply clash with each other, some nitpicky, some not so much, and just merging it into a cesspool of half baked gumbo like Forces is, proves there needs to be a time to sit down, look at what fans cry for the most, and see how can you take what happened since 1991 to today, and make it all work together. That's far harder than it simply sounds, espeically where most of the stuff could be confused for whether its """canon""" or not, like Riders content, Black Arms, etc. Unlike most other series, where it's clear if it doesn't play like the "first game" of its kind, it's considered a spinoff 100% and does not mix into the mainline games of said franchises.
>>14848 You're really over-exaggerating the split between the fanbase. Yes, there are some people like that, but you're making them out to be louder and more significant than they really are.

>>14851 It's alright, anon. Tbh, after hanging around some Sonic places over the years, it can make the fanbase seem more divided than it really is.

I’d like to call this “The Trump Effect”, where you keep on deprecating yourself on stage, describe yourself as an awful choice, and you make it clear to your rival that you want him to win, but you win anyway because you were the most honest out of all of them. And by that logic, this movie will be a box office success just because of how honestly awful it is and everybody wants to see it out of curiosity. >It’s pure marketing genius! Either that, or just the old “Git hip wit da kidz!” schtick…

for my fellow merchfags, you can use the code PERKS4ME on Ebay to get $3 off an order today as long as it's over $3. Go and buy something nice and Sonic-related for yourself
>>14947 I'm not from the US or the UK or any other place where Sonic was huge. He was known during the 90s but then completely banished and hasn't been relevant for the past 20 years. Unless you're quite hardcore into videogames and keep constantly informed from different international sites (which, by the way, are in a different language than ours), chances are you're never going to hear about Sonic, and that's been the case for me in real life, so it's indeed quite surprising to hear people talking about Sonic when it's hardly happened before, and it happened just minutes after I found out about the news myself, so it was surprisingly fast too.

Some new images of parts of TSR we hadn't gotten a good look at yet. Looks like cutscenes might be with text boxes instead of animated, at least some of them. Also taking into account TSR Overdrive and the last image it looks like Sonic and Shadow rivalry might play a part in the game, which could be fun.

Just going to say I'm already avoiding the internet for a month from this point on, just because I'd be more annoyed by the outcry then the medicoricy that is the movie so far, so I'll see you lot later. My only contribution to this crippled fanbase is this; if you still care, and you still want to care, take matters into your own hands. Make fan content, that's all this series is still good for, no matter how cringy it might be. If you want a better Sonic movie, make one. If you want better games, make one. If you want a better image for Sonic, make one. I'll see you all at SAGE. This is likely going to be my home for Sonic after today, not because of SEGA, but because of Sonic. Godspeed to us all.

>>14975 GOD, FUCKING STOP. Would you people and GHPAnon stop posting these pretentious hopeful posts for the future like this is a fucking Disney movie? The fans aren't going to take this franchise back. They can't do SHIT. Hell, we tried starting a fangame here but that went nowhere because god forbid anybody make sacrifices or compromises for what they want Sonic to fucking be. All hope is lost. The WAR is lost. The haters have won. Sonic is fucking dead. It's DEAD. The best, the ABSOLUTE BEST you can hope for is that Evening Star Studio eventually takes the reigns for making a 3D game, which likely will never happen again after the travesty that was Forces. Even if it does happen, are you really going to still be paying attention to this franchise in 10 years? It is foolish and naive to think Sonic will EVER be anything more than shovelware for a company, let alone any developer, who sees Sonic as nothing more than a shitty cash cow for literal toddlers.

Hey there /fast/! If you got to spend a day with Team Dark, wwyd?
>>14979 Well, the fan project here actually died because we have next to no 3D programmers. The series isn't in a great place right now (the uncertainty of where 3D Sonic is heading after the restructuring at SEGA being a big reason), but we've definitely been through worse than a mediocre film that would be straight to DVD if it didn't have the Sonic name on it & the franchise is far from dead. >>14981 >Treasure Hunt with Shadow >Kill inferior robots with Omega > Touch Bat Tats
>>14980 I was hoping for that but a bunch of people are saying they're leaving. I expected the movie to be shit but I didn't expect it to affect us like that.

It's not positive but I thought it was going to be more much more negative.
(68.02 KB 928x801 dab.jpg)

>>14982 >but we've definitely been through worse than a mediocre film that would be straight to DVD if it didn't have the Sonic name on it No. No, we haven't. Sonic 06 was a disaster, but you know what? At the time, it was seen as yet another edgy realistic reboot and sure enough, Sonic jumped right back to its feet, if a little uneasily, with Unleashed. Sonic Boom was shit, but hey, the show was decent at least we could look forward to the next Boost game and the movie showed actual promise back then. Fire & Ice wasn't that bad either. Game Grumps shitting on Sonic and making it cool to shit on the franchise like the shitty little sheep you are was miserable, but at least we bounced back with Sonic Mania as a "fuck you" towards Arin. But now, right after Forces proved that Sonic Team can't even get the fucking Boost formula right anymore, and Sonic Team itself has fallen to pieces due to a mass restructuring at SEGA, this movie has gotten mass media attention. And because of that, it will likely be successful. There will likely be an Electric Boogaloo sequel to this shit. There will likely be Chipmunks-style merchandise for it, and it will be what the mass media associates Sonic the Hedgehog with for the next 10 years. And so now, all of the normies in the world get to learn about how irreparably damaged the franchise's reputation is, and the meme of "Sonic was never good" will become stronger than it ever, EVER has been before. And what do we have to look forward to? Sonic Mania 2? We don't even know if that's happening; if they wouldn't make Adventure 3, or Generations 2, I have no reason to think they would make Mania 2. The IDW comics? Those are meh at best, and don't reach anywhere near the heights of the postboot Archie era, let alone the preboot. Sonic Team Racing? It's questionable if that's even going to hold a candle to ASRT. Sonic has officially fallen to where Bubsy is. That's where we are right now. It's a living fucking nightmare. I have never in my life been so embarrassed to be a fan of a speedy blue hedgehog. This has made me want to hide my merch in a dark corner where no one will ever know.
>>14979 Look mate, I've been through Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom. And what happened after those points in time? Unleashed, Generations and Mania. Plus hundreds of fan content since, like Sonic Dimensions, Utopia, etc. At the time of 06, I was attempting Sonic fan games, but at that time I was stuck in highschool hell, and needed to focus more on getting good grades at school over video game projects. During Boom, before I could even think of doing something to show the series still had something going for it, Mania happened, by the fans, for the fans. This time, I'm going to be doing my best to do the same thing, no matter how small it might be. I'll take this part of your post >, are you really going to still be paying attention to this franchise in 10 years? And the answer is, yes. Yes I likely will be. My mother has been a big fan of things like Felix the Cat for decade. She loved that character 3 times longer than I have lived liking Sonic the Hedgehog. And Felix the Cat has been long since dead to the modern eye, but she doesn't care. I get her anything new I find of that character, from merch to old videos of it whenever I can. And what makes it worse, is in the next year or two, Felix as she remembers him, will become Open Domain soon. Part of his legacy already is by now. And SOMEONE will likely be doing what they done to Sonic to her favorite character in due time. It's only a matter of time. But the luckiest part of it is, she'll likely not live long enough to see that shit happen… But regardless if shit happens, if she can still like something she grew up with 60+ years later, so can I. And luckily for me, I have had years of practice to actually make something, thanks to that driving passion for this "cursed franchise". I can't let go. If I did, I'd do so from this movie. But no, I haven't, not even this movie can take down Sonic for me. His FANBASE takes it down for me, which is why I stated I'm laying low from the Internet for a month just to let the storm pass, but as you can see here, I'm not in a worry to see heeps of trash for pages and pages, because here, you people are better than that. I can't say the same about 4chan, or more accurately, 4chan's circlejerk of Reddit, Twitter and Youtube HUBspot. It's hell being in there, that's why I came here, there's a lot more sanity among the people here that I like. No, I'm not leaving this place, just laying low from the crossfire. Don't get too concerned about the state of /fast/, because I won't be leaving anytime soon. All I can hope for, is neither will you folks.

>>14992 >>14993 Well at least it is nice to see these guys back on the radar
>>14989 This x100. Even if the movie does damage to the franchise, history has proven time & time again that Sonic is always gonna have something that bounces the series back. And hell, to give some credit to SEGA they at least now have an idea of where they wanna take the series with the statement of having Classic & Modern Sonic run alongside each other as branches that'll both have official games coming out. And to address a certain part in >>14988 >Sonic Team itself has fallen to pieces due to a mass restructuring at SEGA What we're gonna get out of this restructured SEGA remains to be seen, but it's worth remembering that Sonic Team as an actual, separate entity has been dead for 10 years & ST from Colors-Forces has basically been a brand name with the SEGA CS2 internal division working on those titles. This whole "SEGA CS2 collapsing" thing now puts the people left at ST under the same roof as most of the non-Yakuza folks at SEGA now, with Iizuka/Hoshino/Nishiyama moving to America & the creation of a Sonic Pillar Team & it's honestly the most interesting thing going on with this franchise right now. >>14992 Looks pretty nice. Do people even watch the Boom TV series? From the webms it doesn't look that bad but I'm not even sure what's the audience for. If it's kids then it has a bunch of depravity, and if its' for sonic autists why is it in cartoon network.

>>14979 >The fans aren't going to take this franchise back. They can't do SHIT Who knows. Classic died come the 2000s but people stuck with him for more than a decade, even after being spit in the face, organizing themselves and producing things until they finally could make an actual game that did great. Now more than ever fans are closer to Sega and Sonic and have more influence than ever on where Sonic goes, from games (Mania), art (comic artist, Rafa, and others), music (Lopez). There's Aaron too, which even if you don't like him, he still got there because he was a fan. Don't get me wrong, I do agree that fans are not going to get to the point where they run the whole circus any time soon, and that all of this has limited consequences, and also that things are going to continue being chaotic and not great, but it's pretty amazing how much fans have progressed in terms of what they create and their involvement in the series, wouldn't have imagined it years ago. >Even if it does happen, are you really going to still be paying attention to this franchise in 10 years? Who the hell knows, I've been posting in /sthg/ for half of that already, it's probably going to go through pretty fast and even if I'm not a fan anymore by then I'm probably going to get back into it if it happens. >It is foolish and naive to think Sonic will EVER be anything more than shovelware for a company, let alone any developer Sumo has done it justice so far.
>>14966 >>14969 I think a more accurate statement would have been "Jim Carrey could have been a great Eggman." He can definitely play the kind of eccentric mad genius that is Eggman, but they just made him play "himself", because that's what they figured would appeal to the broadest audience. >>14979 You blackpills are the worst. >>14996 I figure most of us here did. It was solid, had a lot of funny jokes, and even made "dumb muscle" Knuckles an endearing character. It was a show like Freakazoid, where kids could watch it because it was a silly cartoon, but there were a lot of jokes only older audiences would really get. Its biggest issue was CN sticking it on a channel and in a time slot where barely anyone would bother watching it, besides hardcore Sonic fans. Doesn't make much sense, either, because it was pretty toyetic and I feel it definitely could have kicked off with kids. I guess running constant marathons of Teen Titans Go is just too important.
>>14999 The Boom thing is correct. Most things I hear about that show is that it reminded them of 90s cartoons, like Animaniacs and the like. Even though I didn't care that much about the show, I did enjoy it quite a bit regardless. I especially think it's a better TTGo then TTGo, when making a joke about their core fanbase, while I feel like TTGo is far more pretentious about it, instead of being more jokey about it like Boom did.

>>15006 Not a newcomer, but I often lurk on both sites. It was recieved as well as here. Someone screencapped >>14979 and a bunch of shitposting was breed out of it.
>>15007 > It was recieved as well as here. Not him but you mean "it's bad but it's not the end of the world?" If so color me surprised… I would have expected the exact opposite. Good on them. The fact that post was shared over which caused madness really just proves my point. Do as you may, but more negativity doesn't make this situation any better. I'd be more happy with us all just making more good content, no matter what happens from the big companies.
>>15004 The supposed fanfiction in the chris chan episode
>>15008 Yeah everyone hates the movie, but it's not like it's gonna affect the games in any way. In my opinion though, I think the fans are the ones taking the bullets in this one, sinking the franchise into a deeper meme state.
>>15005 Yeah. I only come here like twice so I'm not sure if you guys actually have one of your own instead or not.
>>15011 I understand. All we can do is move past it. We done so before, just keep moving on, like Sonic would do, he doesn't let anything stop him right? I've had to do this in other franchises, PPG, Avatar, DBZ? Evolutions was pure dogshit for DBZfans, but now we got FighterZ and Super to make it feel better again. The same can happen to Sonic. I hope it happens to the other series I liked too as well.
>>15006 Not too well, there was a bunch of movie dread for like 4 threads and then its slowing down currently to some other unrelated nonsense because they got sick of the topic that they're trying to start things with. >>15013 You're right. Some series just have their rough patches and if you like it so much you can move on from it.

If God is real, let this movie be the end all be all death of live action with fictional cartoon animals. No more, just stop. It doesn't work for Smurfs, it doesn't work for anything that doesn't exist in our world, just let it go. Just keep what looks good, not what looks real.

>>15023 By that I meant Season 3 that is, not the whole show.
>>15023 It never even came to DVD there, but it was still produced for the sake of overseas markets. The uncut Japanese episodes you see floating around are taken from the France DVD box sets, which to my knowledge is the only release they've had up until now.

>>15029 If I wasn't so numb to this today, I'd go through the trouble and collage all the leaked images of Sonic and the final official look. But it's amazing how many changes this design has gone over the span of just 3-4 years.

It also seems like they included short socks in his current design, which were absent previously. Fuck this thing is unsettling no matter where you look. >>15035 That's a damn fine animation, tbh.
>>14958 >>15015 >>15034 >>15049 All they had to do was make his Holly-haunted design unanimously pleasing (no matter how "unrealistic" a Methemoglobinemic hedgehog emitting enough electricity to power India for 3 days could be), and it may have been at least halfway decent (benefit of a doubt with low standards anyway, because video game movies always suck). When the fans are the ones getting the design right, it's a sad spectacle. The kind that makes the Woody Woodpecker Movie look like Paddington. It's a damn shame really, because the scenes with Jim Carrey are the only thing I like in the trailer.
>>15053 That's still bad, but at least better than what we got.
>>14996 >I'm not even sure what's the audience for That's just a general problem for many western cartoons. They want to appeal to both children and adults, but in the worst cases they end up catering to neurotic teenagers and adults, and in the best cases we get Gumball and Sonic Boom.

>>15122 Oh, and based on how he puts it, this sounds like when the movie was still being developed by Sony, when it was actual fans of Sonic behind the movie's direction. Fucking Sony, fucked up this situation far more thanks to them giving it to Paramount of all things. Does Sony seem to hate animation or something? First that Popeye movie, now this.
The movie. The 3D games being bad for so long. 4 year hiatuses. IDW being just decent at best and constantly delayed. Everyone making fun of the franchise again but not just memers this time. The new Game Grumps video. I might actually be done with this franchise. I can't take it anymore

His control for it, whatever how small, was still handicapped by SEGA's retardedness dealing with Microsoft's bullshit demands. And as with ShTH, same thing, he didn't direct that game, that was Iizuka. He hasn't directed any 3D Sonic game, only produced at the time. His best strength was being the programmer, but SEGA decided that was dumb to do for Sonic's 3D debut.
Is it just me, or is 4/sthg/ seriously overreacting to things? It's unnatural how same-minded everyone is there.
>>15139 >same-minded in a chan Oh anon, how can you say that.
>>15140 I know, but it just feels like a lot. 4/sthg/ was always a bit dark, but lately, it's been unbearable.
>>15139 some of it is just shitposting, especially anything that's obviously just someone from /tv/ or /v/ looking to fuel the fire. But I'm also sure the movie was a breaking point for a lot of people. Remember everything that's happened since after Generations or even just in the past 3 years. Now we have this trainwreck of a movie on top of all of that and it's not going to go away for another 7-8 months at the minimum. People are not happy. Are they overreacting? Of course. But it feels good to rant and be around likeminded people especially when it seems like everywhere you go, everyone is is against you. They'll calm down eventually. Just give it time. If it's really someone that works on this thing, as much as I can appreciate the thought, if you couldn't get the design to work in a real life setting without making it look like crap, then it's not worth it. People rather want on model Sonic, even if it doesn't look realistic. Because that's what makes him look appealing.
>>15148 >Why say this when it's too late to make any changes? damage control. but on a serious note I'm sure there's still time to make some very minor changes. Obviously they can't change the entire model but they could fix one or two little things. Like those goddamn teeth.

https://twitter.com/nakayuji/status/1124138211918270464?s=20 "The power of sonic fans is amazing. It is good to go in a good direction. Thank you so much for loving Sonic. The design of the movie "Sonic the Movie" has changed. Production side breaks down" - Yuji Naka I really think this is becoming a speical time. No matter how bad things get, people won't quit. I believe if more fans actually get together to support the series, whether in the light of Taxman or just as artists, things has a change to get better for the series.
>>15185 >>15061 >>15186 >The design of the movie "Sonic the Movie" has changed. Production side breaks down I can't believe how many people swallowed Fowler's words. I can't be the only one that thinks he will never deliver for one reason or another, right?
>>15187 I don't believe him either. He's either lying or this was some really bizarre marketing stunt. Maybe the leaks were plants and the trailer design was fake and they'll hype up a """"""new"""""" design which was actually what they had the whole time. But I doubt it because that's absolutely asinine and unrealistic. It's more likely he's just lying. We can't expect major changes. It's too late unless they delay the movie. At best they'll change Sonic's teeth and give him a shadow and proper lighting. That's it
>>15187 Given that the film has already wrapped up shooting & is coming out in 6 months, I don't expect to see any real changes to the design, but it's also gonna cause people to be even more pissed off if they claim that there's gonna be changes only to be full of shit.
(843.23 KB 964x892 1515884620794.png)

>>15187 Only if he deleys the film. Under certain situations, the only chances would be surface value, aka, the base design is unchancable, but things like shoes design, stomach color, and at most, slightly bigger back spines are the only things that can be changed without having to do much backchecking to see if it looks off or something. Things like, the most mandatory thing needed to be fixed, the face, aren't possible imo in 6 months. Unless he delays the firm to MMarch of next year, I ain't expecting much. Imo, I not mad he gave a "blanket" appology to fix what he fucked up, it's how appolgenic the *fans* are about give the team "time and care" to fix Sonic's design. I am far aware it's not THEIR fault, it's the directors fault for forcing out such a shit design, but these people aren't going to, e.g, slap Sonic's in game model into the movie and call it a day, because A: That's impossible without completely redoing all of the animation work in the movie thus far, and B: If it was that easy to do, they'd just do that in the first place. All I can hope for is, fix the face. Literally everything else I can just let go, but if they could fix the face in time? DO IT. That's all I can unreasonably ask for, but I'm not expecting it. I hate all the doomsaying, but what's done is done.

>>15187 I'm looking for an interview from last year about the movie and I'm finding a lot of big publications echoing the tweet about altering how Sonic looks. It's gonna be funny seeing how they get away from this one, it's gotten pretty big it seems.
>>15192 That is way too good

These are the currently announced games for the Mega Drive Mini. There's 20 of them, with 20 more to be announced before its release in September. Which games not listed would you like to get included? Hard mode: no Sonic 3 and/or Knuckles. I'd enjoy Mortal Kombat and The Lion King because I remember playing them a lot as a kid.
>>15198 >No Sonic 3 or Knuckles They really need to figure this whole MJ shit out. Sonic 3 hasn't had a re-release since Steam in 2012.

>>15198 >No Based Vectorman Fix that.
>>15197 I can never understand how creators that have this sort of things don't think of dropping them online for others to enjoy, specially when they're as open as this guy that just shows it off like it's nothing. Even a video, or an interview, or something, would be better than nothing. Anyway, let's wait and see what happens on Monday.
>>15201 Other than being a possible breach of NDA? It stops potential clients from feeling like hiring them if they're going to end up leaking material the client doesn't want to be public.
(31.39 KB 480x360 WZrxWVi19oU.jpg)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZrxWVi19oU Well, glad to see people still using this engine to its abilities.
>>15199 What part of >20 more to be announced do you not understand?
>>15202 Considering Masato Nakamura owns his productions from back in the day, he probably owns his stuff too. Having said that, it's been 27 years, I doubt anyone cares anymore either way, not even him considering he's showing it off in public.
>>15204 Oh. I honestly doubt Sonic 3 will see release, though. It's tied up with so much legal bullshit right now man.
>>15203 Jesus, that's too excessively automated. And the engine is kind of clunky. I haven't played the original Crisis City, is this a port or a remake that's just made in this way?
>>15207 It's a level ported into the fan made engine; The Sonic Infinity engine. The creator, Oben, quit working on the engine because of some drama with other Sonic fans and lost interest in adding more to the engine, hence the "clunkiness" the rail mechanic in this isn't even native to what was available in the latest release, but the engine is made in Unreal so it's open source and they likely just use some Unreal spline stuff to make it work regardless. However there are ports of 06 happening as of late, one from a year ago, and a new one just recently worked on by a separate team of one or two people.
(174.59 KB 680x674 1429325775263.png)

>>15208 So is that insane amount of red rings also in the original map?
>>15209 Actually no, lol. I think most of the automation in that is because they have to use setpieces to take the same paths you would take in the actual game, although that's not saying much. The fact the Infinty engine is a boost styled gameplay engine, while 06 wasn't built for that, is kinda why there's a lot more extra stuff needed to make it translate the same without rebuilding the layout of the original stage for a boost style gameplay.

https://youtu.be/DPxY9Y8Nvjs I don't know if this was posted before, but I found it quite interesting, and it explains a lot of things about Sonic Forces. Forces used the Lost World gameplay engine and the Hedgehog 2 lighting engine. You can tell by its 8-directional movement, a residual quirk shared by many WiiU games (to offer a nearly identical experience regardless of the controller used). Forces' engines also don't support data streaming because Lost World's didn't because the WiiU couldn't do it good. The data-streaming method staying cut is probably the main reason the "city in ruins" stage was split up into three. https://tcrf.net/Sonic_Forces_(Windows)#.27City.27 I swear I did not just copy this from halfchan haha
>>15214 I remember hearing that some of LWs files was still in Forces, a while back. Between that & what you posted, the game does kinda sound like one giant LW mod, which is pretty surprising given the length of development. >spoiler I believe ya

>>15215 >which is pretty surprising given the length of development. One year on forces as a mod of the last game, isn't that surprising. Sonic CD/2, to 3K, from SA1 to SA2, and somewhat Heroes, to ShTH… All of which, share ~1 year of development. The "4 years" of dev time was spent 3/4th on the HE2, which is as a reminder, just a lighting engine, not a gameplay based one. Basically, Sonic Team alway "mod" their games for the next entry, ever since Sonic 1. They don't remake the next game from scratch, unless needed (SA1, 06, Unleashed) being the only times they truly did. Lost World was just a gimped Generations, which is bad because this means there's now nothing like Unleashed/Generations in an open source state for Sonic Team to use anymore, they wrote over it all. At this point, they'd have to make something up entirely from scratch again, or, the nest game will still be essentially a "mod" of Forces.
(672.19 KB 1114x635 s.png)

>>15214 I can't believe it took them 4 years to do this, and I can't believe these kind of limitations still exist in the year we're on. >You can tell by its 8-directional movement Can you really only move in 45° angles? In the video it seems smoother at times. >spoiler pic related
(71.24 KB 500x500 cabeza_blanca.jpg)

>>15218 I'm praying they do a new engine from scratch. Preferably with a different gameplay style. I think the boost formula has grown stale.
(21.21 KB 800x533 1406599655648.png)

>>15214 Also, I have to admit I'm kind of disappointed they didn't find a Boom Sonic model and more information pointing out that he was going to be in the game instead of the character creator.
>>15221 If he was in the game, it was probably scrapped early on. I know it's been said that the next Sonic game is already in production, I wonder what they're gonna do this time around.
>>15219 It's wierd. The camera offers "smooth" 360 degree rotation. But your control input only shifts Sonic 45 degrees. There's interpolation (aka Lerp) that smooths the angle to angle shift, but it's still 45 degree shifts, not smooth 360 analog control.
(732.80 KB 493x274 when (2).gif)

>>15222 Yeah, the Boom debacle was in 2014/2015 after all, so maybe they even had time to plan around instead of having to straight out rework things. >I know it's been said that the next Sonic game is already in production, I wonder what they're gonna do this time around. I just wonder if it's going to be worth it. This situation is so grating, with the long waiting times and very little reward. But to be honest I wonder the most about when they plan to release it, since honestly the hype and speculation lately turns out to be more fun than the outcome. Also, time is not on their side if they plan to release a normal main game and an anniversary game to celebrate the 30th anniversary, which is two years from now. So unless the game Iizuka was talking about is the anniversary game, the options are either the anniversary game is going to have less devtime than a mobile game, or there's not going to be one. The latter would kind of suck in a way since it's a huge wasted opportunity, but on the other hand fuck all has happened since the last anniversary (Generations). Probably hopeful thinking but maybe they'll give us just a sneak peek at E3? >>15223 That's what I thought. A bit difficult to fully see but I'm sure it's easy to feel with the controller.

>>15231 Coolio. Glad to see this project got the time and polished it needed. Hopefully he follows through with the first level, because as much as I'm impressed by all this, people will likely keep saying "it's another tech demo engine for "muh physics" without any actual level design, episode" that I'm tired of hearing as a retort. Thanks anon for sharing, hope to see this this year's SAGE.
>>15233 Hero seems to know his shit, since he knows that any comments of "OMG you should work for SEGA!!1" are pretty ridiculous, and he doesn't want to release this until it has a real level to show off. And honestly, this didn't seem like it was showing off physics so much as it was the fluidity of Sonic's movement, which is quite impressive.
(12.83 KB 414x401 1500856357737.png)

>>15234 Of course, I'm just regurgtating what is the typical halfchan post over there. When Infinity Engine was posted there, it's the stuff I was talking about, same for Utopia, same for Islands, and even this one I see someone shills on /v/ that's called "Sonic Adventure Blast". So I hope when Project Hero does get level design to prove itself, people will start liking these fan projects more offen. Because realistically, you shouldn't be expecting a OMA to make a full fledged game now, but I think some people do, which is insane. I'd be happy already just dicking around this latest build if it was my option to do so.

>>15230 Not the best of moments to do movie jokes but it is a cool poster. >>15231 Hm… fuck, that looks quite fun. I love how it looks like there's a lot of different gameplay/movement options but every one is well defined and detailed so that he always does what he wants do to and they don't interfere with each other, and how he doesn't lose his speed with the different moves. Also the physics don't look floaty like in other videos. At some points in the video I would have loved if he suddenly started climbing the walls/parkouring, it seemed natural to have some moves for that, but even without that it looks very complete as it is. >>15233 >"it's another tech demo engine for "muh physics" without any actual level design I mean, isn't it? I don't follow the fangame/fan engine scene too closely, but isn't there like a mountain of fan engines that never saw any real use at this point?
(19.10 KB 204x239 1477940199222.jpg)

>>15235 I think the thing is, there are a dozen, if not more, 3D fan engines that all basically do the same thing. When you keep seeing engine demo after engine demo, with the most they have to show being a dev room sandbox or, if we're lucky, a single sandbox-y level, 3D fan engines lose their novelty. We know it can be done, we've seen plenty of people do it, so, for a project to be notable, it has to do more. It has to go a step further. It doesn't have to be full game tier, but having 3-5 levels would be nice, or even just a decent boss fight. 3D engines are a dime-a-dozen, at this point.

Here's a small interview with Ian. https://previewsworld.com/Article/229085-Flynn-Talks-Tangle--Whisper-and-the-Summer-of-Sonic They're calling the short slew of comics (normal comic+annual+Tangle & Whisper+collection of comics) "Summer of Sonic", which fucked with my head at first because I thought they were talking about the convention for some reason. Cream's going to be joined by both Cheese and Chocola, and we are apparently going to get some insight into Whisper's introversion. Also something's happening at issue 25, so 3 years from now.

Should've spanked her more, then she wouldn't act up like this. Of course, she also wouldn't act up if she wasn't guaranteed to win the lawsuit. Any judge in America would agree with her that a husband kissing and fondling his wife is a capital crime, because #ListenAndBelieve. What a farce.
>>15256 To be fair, they were divorced by this point. To also be fair, she claims to have moved away because the stress of his "abuse" was too much, only to agree to let him visit and stay at her place shortly later. That story doesn't exactly add up.

>>15258 I can't explain it, but this attire looks really fucking cool to me. If I knew anything about sprite animation, I'd be half-tempted to make a Bump/Sage in Sonic Battle thing.
>>15260 The Battle art style is really cool in itself, and the clothes and colors go well together. The sweater tied to the waist is clever, you don't see that done often, and it compliments the pose well. >I'd be half-tempted to make a Bump/Sage in Sonic Battle thing Fuck, I just had a flashback to a few years ago. I swear someone was doing a battle mod, but I can't remember if it was Bump/Sage related. I think it wasn't, otherwise I'd remember (and would have stuff saved).
>>15259 Females in burgerland are attention whoring bitches always looking to start shit. Something like this will happen to the Sonic franchise at some point because based Sega decided to make SoA in charge now. Females always do this shit. They always complain about """"""abuse"""""" but never bother to report it until 30 years later when the """""attacker""""" (always a man by the way, it's never a female) is rich and famous. It's a fucking farce. It's females wanting attention and to get rich quick in donations. It will happen to this franchise too. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what finally kills. Would be fitting.
Goes without saying, but don't give attention to off-topic posts. >>15261 I think you're referring to the Bump in Sonic 1 mod, maybe? I know the thing was mostly finished with the spritesheet & source code still around, so it's still around. And yeah, the Battle artstyle fucking rules. I get a little Sonic Battle vibe from some of the more recent Sonic Channel pics, but it's missing a certain something to really capture it imo.

>>15263 Nearly forgot to mention: One thing I miss about those mid-2000s spin off titles is that games like Sonic Battle & Riders managed to have its own unique artstyle that really helped give the title their own special identity. I understand it's not make or break for the quality of the game, but one thing I wish the current Sonic spinoffs would do is give them a unique flavor beyond the gameplay.
What other things do you think they'll do in the movie with Sonic that would completely contradict the usual style rules? Like, show him barefoot, have him cry, have him severely beat down/lose, etc.. Also, I really have to wonder now what they'll do in the movie to warrant the PG-13 rating. >>15263 No, I'm sure at some point someone also worked on a Battle mod, but I don't think it was mascot related. Maybe I'll try to see it if I can pinpoint that moment in the archive later. That's kind of fun to do, lol. >>15264 >One thing I miss about those mid-2000s spin off titles is that games like Sonic Battle & Riders managed to have its own unique artstyle that really helped give the title their own special identity That was great, specially because usually the styles were awesome. It gave the impression of much higher production values and the variety was welcomed.
>>15265 Going off of what the trailer has shown, it seems the supposed synopsis of the movie is confirmed to be true. In which case, we can look forward to a bar fight & Sonic flossing, Beyond that, I don't expect them going outside the usual rules a whole lot, but I do admit to being curious why this movie has a PG-13 rating.

Is there any Sonic game we could play online between ourselves and would anyone be interested in trying it? >>15269 The more complex projects have probably been in the works far longer than any of the recent info on the movie. >>15270 I have never looked into SMB before but after watching that video it looks like a mobile game at best, and even the guy says it's only had like 3 good games ever, why is that franchise so important to him? But in any case I'm happy it makes him happy. It's awful to when your favorite franchises are neglected or even worse, mutilated beyond recognition by the rights holders.
>>15283 >Spoiler You could easily say the same thing about Sonic you know. People will away bash the classic games for being "hold down to win" in responce to the boost era's "hold x to win", just because the physics of the classics to them seems like the game is playing itself. Whether that's true or not, if its good, its good, no matter what it's made on, how it's made, etc. I don't really care that much for SMB myself, but at the same time, I apprate well made games doing what its sought out to do. I mean, Ultimate Flash Sonic is unironically a better made Sonic game then Sonic 4 is. Flash was, and still does, get shit on par to being "mobile tier shit" when really great games can and does get made in them, some even rivaling the quality of their source inspirations; SSF2 and The Fancy Pants Adventures come to mind. To bring it back home, I really like living in a world people can have the chance to make something great with stuff, no matter who owns it. Just think if we couldn't draw Bump and Sage if the artists behind them had the overall right to disallow it? So much lost potential. I really do get why the C&T existed when shit was happening to Namco's big IP, but there's clearly a problem coming from it longterm I think.
>>15284 >You could easily say the same thing about Sonic you know From what I saw in the video, I don't think SMB has anywhere near the same kind of depth or effort put into it compared to pretty much any Sonic game. Everything looks so bare bones.
>>15285 It's almost an exact replica of the reception it got here. Why does it hurt, though? I think it'd be much worse if they would be receiving it positively and allowing Paramount to get away with it.
>>15285 I dunno, it's kind of beautiful seeing Sonic fans so united in something these days. That doesn't happen often.
>>15286 Well the point of that game is to be like a Pinball/Marble simulatar. If anything it's basically the Sonic Heroes Casino level, but actually good. It's as standard as SMB (as in, Super Mario Bros) tier of quality, or really, old arcady fun. It feels like a game before the age of "mobileshit" coining it for itself, before the days of Dad of War or Smash Bros tier of "depth". Like I'd put Sonic 1/2 on par with hte first 2 Monkey Balls (heh), it's simple but works. I mean it does have a story for one of those games from what I remembered, but like… It's like asking yourself "why does Billy Hatcher have a story?" It's that tier of irrelevant.

Bros, why is it so impossible to find a Sonic community that isn't: >a complete and total hugbox or >populated with literal children
>>15334 The sonic franchise is more appealing to young teens. Many of the drop Sonic after growing up.
(35.35 KB 632x258 ClipboardImage.png)

>>15334 Because the very definition of a "community" is to be a circle jerk, to varying degrees of hugboxery. To put it simply; the more people you have in a community, the more the effects it can go through will occur. It only takes one bad apple to make the entire bunch cancer, or in the opposite extreme, it takes one person to be "the holy saint" to be the idol to whiteknight to obvilion, making things just as cancerous. Usually, the smaller the group is, the effects that can occur are minor and avoidable. Basically using here as an example, the people are few, keeping conflict from being escalted to 4/sthg/ levels of bad, but also so small you really can't make a big hugbox of "friends", so it's just kept to nice conversations without being tied to a friendship reasoning, unless of course its with usernames, as it seems to negate that entirely and actively causes hugboxing more than not.
>>15337 See, but I don't really run into that problem with other fandoms. It's JUST Sonic.

(41.52 KB 480x360 DSZjBsDggg4.jpg)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSZjBsDggg4 I know I'm asking a lot, but stuff like this is what I think would make more people appreciate games like Sonic Mania more, speaking from an avid Mania/classicfag. As much as I love sprite animation, love what Mania was going for and is fine with what it was going for, and can even enjoy the Advance era sprites as well, I think a "Mania 2", which is likely to people actually "Sonic 5 by Evening Star Team" should be something like this for a Sonic game based on the "classic formula" but remastered with HD animations. Based on all the criticism Mania got early on by people that didn't enjoy the rehashing and "nostalgia pandering", I think if the team had the chance to go to this length for a Sonic game, with hand drawn artwork in the Retro Engine, I think most of the compliants would go away imo. I mean, if something like that, with the possiblity that all the zones are brand new, doesn't make you enjoy it? I wouldn't know what to say. All I can say is, I honestly hope this level of care in animation can be adpated into the gaming experience, since I fear making 2D animation ala Mania Adventures and Overdrive, just is becoming more and more problematic to be done as a tv series/feature length movie experience nowadays. /blog
>>15338 I think the problem could be that Sonic has been around for decades and most Sonic communities are decades-old with people that have been in them for many years or even decades too, so it's not the best of environments for some stranger to join, specially if you don't sing the same song as everyone else. I think there are smaller communities that could be more sane and I'm always surprised to hear about them, and while I've always wanted to go see how they are the truth is that I've been on imageboards for so long that I just can't be comfortable with usernames anymore.

In the end, the previous graphics were fine, worked great, and the animations were acclaimed, so there's no need to risk the project just to change them and I don't think the risk (and extra cost) would be worth it. Having said that, if Sega plans to continue making Classic games it's going to be very interesting to see what they can come up to change things around and continue making people interested in them (putting Classic in Modern's shoes for once, sort of speaking), since just making more and more maps while keeping everything else the same has a limited lifespan. It probably doesn't help that people have been making fangames for so long so that other ideas have already been seen and tried before.

>>15349 Still really not sure about the team mechanic. Don't like the idea of my success in a race being dependent on two other people. Also don't like how character choice seems to be locked to set teams. And I wish SEGA would get the fuck over Colors. Using the wisps as items is fine, but does the team boost theme (at least for Team Sonic) have to be the Colors theme? Also, how the fuck will things like time trials work?
>>15372 I think it was said the teams aren't locked, only in story mode they are. I think they just want to keep it consistent to the advertising part of the team mechanic when showing off the gameplay.
>>15370 >SEGA already have an inhouse animation studio for 2D Sonic, which is the Mania Adventures/Overdrive team The Neko guys? I don't think they're owned by Sega. >>15373 Yeah, that's what they said. You can choose whoever you want, even multiple players as the same character I think, but it's fixed in story mode for obvious reasons. Speaking of the team mechanic, speed types go fast/accelerate faster but have less handling, technique types have more handling and can run over grass or water without losing speed but have slower top speed… what do power characters do exactly?

Just a heads up Apparently people are "leaking" that Sonic and Tails will appear as a cameo in OHKO on Cartoon Network. Saw this thread on halfchan, now on Twitter. I doubt its real, since a pic showing the two in the show is there as well, but it's not officially revealed by SEGA or something. It gives me Sonic and Tails in Melee vibes all over again.
>>15397 Neat
I won't really post this here because e-celeb shit or whatever, but ShayMay made it clear for me why I felt the need to not see this movie. It's not about it looking off, or "it's cringe xD", I realized this myself the day the trailer dropped, but I didn't know what that feeling was until ShayMay explained it. Sonic Mania was the best thing to happen to me for Sonic since S3K. I don't hate SA2, I don't hate Unleashed, despite their flaws, but that's the honest truth about Sonic to me. My best moments of Sonic, was moreso that gameplay style no one could recapture anywhere else in gaming, not even by the same team for his 3D debut. We've came real close, and to no disrespect to fantastic stuff like Project Hero, Infinity and Bumper Engine, etc. But to me, the only thing that gets that classic styled gameplay right, 3D wise, is Utopia. And it only hurts more knowing Lange might not deliver something more than just the demo 2 years ago, but going back to ShayMay, I think that's not a bad thing. I got my share of experiences I enjoyed, and can be defined as to why I love Sonic despite it all. I don't need a new game to be a fan of Sonic, I just need what I like and can enjoy from, which sounds like a no brainer I know, but what I mean is that, Mania was a nice game, for me, and others like me mostly speaking. But If that's the last game of its kind being endorsed by SEGA decades to decades to come, I wouldn't be mad about it. I'll just keep what I have, and anything like it were to come up, I'll enjoy that as well. I haven't played Advance 1, but I think I'll try to play that soon. From what I heard it's basically Sonic 1 modernized, so I think I'll enjoy it knowing it plays like I like it, regardless if it doesn't look like a Genesis era game. Seeing that post about Monkey Ball made me understand this. If you want SA2 back, or Unleashed, or even Chao Garden, I hope the same things can happen to fans of that as well, instead of hoping for years SEGA will finally pander to what you want. A fan would likely make it happen faster than they would, sad as it is to say. But imo, this isn't just about SEGA. I just think companies as a whole are losing their influence over the gaming market, because of failures or mismanagements that befall over their IPs. I rather just get more of what I want, regardless if it came from SEGA, Nintendo, Sony or whatever. I don't care about the company, I care about their games. Give me NiGHTS fan games, whether it be with the character or not, it doesn't matter as long as it feels faithful to what I would want.

>>15413 Neat. Speaking of Advance, I just got done playing the first one on a emulator, and it was ok. I might be biased thanks to Mania, but as it was, it had some nice parts about it, physics being one of them, but the level design wasn't my forte, at worse felt "romhacky". Lots of spikes and hard to read hazards that made the experience felt cheap and jerky. Not to mention, short. Even after 2 game overs, it only took an hour and a half to beat it first time with Sonic. But I hope you get to enjoy the Advance saga yourself, to me, Advance 3 felt better to play, outside of the special stage and hub world part of it.

>>15415 Oh and there's another thing I liked when playing Advance. Or moreso, what I liked that Mania actually referenced. There's this zone in Advance where you spin around a "bowl" before it drops you down below it to a lower level. Well, Sonic Mania actually referenced that in the Studiopolis Zone, with the exact same sound effect used there as well. So yeah, Mania isn't all just Genesis era, there's quite a few nods to Advance, to even Modern era stuff like the pulleys in Green Hill Act 2 coming from Splash Hill Zone from Sonic 4, and the Color's announcer reference also in Studiopolis. I think that's how you should homage past levels in my opinion, instead of SEGA always reusing entire old zones again and again.

>>15416 Huh. So it's staying at a nice ~11k. Good to see there's a solid base for the comic

What are some good platformers similar to Sonic? Besides Freedom Planet, of course. I wanna find another interesting franchise to waste time in
>>15418 That's some really nice fanart. Who's the artist?
>>15430 >similar to Sonic Socket the Time Dominator and Spark the Electric Jester
>>15430 If you're looking for one to one Sonic gameplay… There is none, as far as I'm aware of. Genesis is unrecreated outside of by Taxman and Stealth, which brought it back to Sonic. The only thing similar, far more than FP is actually, is Spark the Electric Jester. The only other thing I can think of that just happened recently was that one Cat Duo game revealed last SAGE that I can recall the name of.
>>15417 Probably a family issue. Hope he's doing well, at least >>15432 >Socket the Time Dominator Huh, never heard of that game until now. How is it?
New bread when
>>15435 Never played it. I only found out about it years ago when I had an interest in romhacking. It's not very good from what I've heard
>>15436 I'll need to update the OP, but I can whip one up real quick
>>15435 I looked it up myself and it's a 90s Genesis game that like a mix of Sonic and Mario. Feels like a game that takes less of the momentum of Sonic's Genesis gameplay, and focus more on platforming with some slopes thrown in here and there. It does have some quality music then you'd expect tbh.
Is it me or are the posts centered now?

What are they reading /sthg/?
>>15443 Forces concept art and interviews
>3 legged race Uhhh… lewd? I finally got around to playing this Didn't know there was a kind of chao garden in it.
>>15445 I forgot which advance game that is.Anyway, do you plan to trade them over to one of the adventure games?
>>15438 Looking forward to it, there's something I want to post when it's up.
>>15446 Not him but that's from Advance 1. I actually kinda forgot that was even there just 2 hours in playing the game for the first time.
>>15446 It's the first one. I haven't played any of them so I'm starting with the first one and moving up from there if they're good enough. I wasn't a fan of the chao garden in the Adventure games but it's kind of a good sign that there's additional content, seems like there's might be a good effort behind the game I still haven't played any stages, I've been dicking around in the garden since I booted it up oh god. >Anyway, do you plan to trade them over to one of the adventure games? The what now?
>>15448 Are you also going through Advance 1 for the first time right now?
>>15450 I already did yesterday actually. I was the one that made this post >>15415. I hope you enjoy yourself anon, I'll see if I can go back and replay it again with another character.
>>15449 You can trade the chao from Advance 1 into SA1/2, but only from GBA native to SA1/2 Gamecube native. You can get exclusive type of chao from the Tiny Garden and send them to SA1/2.
>>15361 Cool, thanks for the pic. Love the packaging. >Warning: disregard instructions Kek
>>15449 You can trade chao via link cable between the gamecube versions of the adventure games and the gba advance games >>15448 It was kind of the opposite for me. I learned about the existence of the sonic advance games from a friend while discussing chao. s he let me borrow their copy of advance 2 and import the exclusive eggs
