Energy work Let's begin by defining energy, and understanding exactly what we're working with when we do energy work. When talking magic and metaphysics, there are two main common ways to understand the term energy. Let's call them type P energy and type M energy. Type P energy is physical energy. It is quite literally the electrochemical energy of your body. P energy is a resource that can be acquired and spent. It moves your muscles, and maintains your health. Type M energy is metaphysical, and perhaps calling it energy is misleading. This resource is never consumed, but rather allocated and deallocated. This allocation, in general terms, is maintained by your attention. Mostly your subconscious attention. This means that as long as you can locate and repurpose the thread of subconscious attention that is attached to a certain allocation, you can recover that energy. It never stops belonging to you, and leads back to you, which is one of the underlying principles that makes karma possible. M energy can be conceptualized as a ray of light that originates in a source, which you may call God, and passes through many polarizing lenses, which modify its nature and effects, and reduces its potency (just like a lens would). A lens cannot lose or gain any amount of photons passing through it as long as its being shone on. But it can focus or scatter that energy in various ways. Magic, and indeed energy work deals entirely with type M energy; in the use of lenses to work with it, be it external or our own. The misleading use of the term energy to refer to it, as well as the fact that type M can indirectly produce an expenditure of type P, has resulted in the mistaken assumption that it is the latter which rules these practices, and it has made things much more difficult to understand. Let's look at a practical example. There is a curse spell that consists in taping the target's picture to a pig's face (looking towards the pig), then killing the pig (violently), dragging it through a forest, and burying it in a shallow grave, for wild animals to desecrate it later. It is often assumed that this type of sacrifice feeds on the pig's life force, and by some mysterious mechanism mediated by the magician's willpower, it's put to use in tormenting the target. However, a more accurate modelling can be done if we understand how M energy works. The pig, like any other living being, is a lens through which the light of God shines. Likewise, the tormented, angry, fearful psyche of a being acts as a polarizing medium that can potentially turn that light harmful to the next lens down the line (if it is directed properly, and does not scatter, or does not end up hitting the magician, or being affected by the magician's own undisciplined attention polluting the ritual). It is important to realize that the energy of the sacrifice is never spent. It is allocated. And by appeasing the pig, one can undo the curse. That is, one can help the sacrificed being to deallocate its traumatized attention. If you think about this, and apply this reasoning to many magical applications of sacrifices, trauma, lust, and other attachments, you will find you now understand them more deeply.

Qi When most people think about energy work, they think of something that is done by manipulating something in the body. More insightful people might realize it has something to do with intention, but it is always in very fuzzy terms. This something is type M energy, also known as Qi. Misled by materialism, Westerners (and now westernized Eastern people) have polarized into two equally delusional camps. On the one hand, there are people who are unable to understand how something can be real without it being detectable and measurable, therefore declaring it's nothing but a fantasy. On the other hand, true believers, who will believe a priori, try to equate Qi to electromagnetism, heat, hormones, or perhaps a combination of detectable and measurable phenomena, in a desperate attempt to validate their belief in materialist terms. The truth is that Qi is meta-physical, meaning beyond physical. It is the intention that makes detectable and measurable things happen, and the function that we conceptualize when we see those things, among other realities that are nonetheless not physical. Most people who spiritually educated to any degree will correctly point out that energy work involves manipulation of Qi. But without understanding the above point and the nature of it as an allocatable (not consumable) resource, their efforts will be completely misguided. They will become lost in an unworkable mess of energy fields, currents, and other electromagnetic analogies that only work as that, but fail to convey the true nature of this work in critical ways.
The Work There are two books that are very helpful in learning to do this manipulation of Qi. New Energy Ways, and The Visceral Experience. Especially in the latter, the theoretical framework used to frame the practical exercises in the book is completely distorted by pseudomaterialist thinking, and should be discarded. The practical exercises, however, are very good in showing you how to sense and manipulate Qi. In the terms relevant to energy work, Qi is sensed as or through bodily sensation (however, Qi itself is not that bodily sensation). Although these books mostly focus on it as something pertaining to the body, it is an essential component in direct magic (not mediated by spiritual third parties), as well as many forms of metaphysical communication (clairs, healing, spirit communication, and contacting one's higher self, aka. the lens immediately above one in the figurative chain of photons that is shining on and through us). Qi, as the precursor to every material phenomenon, can be very useful to optimize the operation of our bodies, as can be gleaned from a few comments made by the master in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWO68FayDRk. But it can be also used to bring about or manifest events in the world in a more abstract way, by feeling and fixing our subconscious attention on that feeling. This is why sometimes manifestation is called artificial karma. If you're going to be doing it anyway, you might as well plan it consciously. Someone aiming to detach from this world, however, should focus on finding and deallocating subconscious attention threads instead of creating new ones, which is basically what Zen meditation does. Let's talk about these practices and their application.
So what do people mean when they talk about "cultivation" and collecting and storing spiritual energy in themselves?
>>6259 I thought it was obvious from the end of the third post. Recovering misused attention.
>>6259 Shen, the third treasure sought after by this cultivation, is not a substance at all. Shen is conscious awareness, and if you study Chinese medicine theory and look at the methods of cultivation described in the ancient texts, it's pretty clear what is happening. One preserves physical health and youthfulness (Jing) to be able to train his ability to direct his attention (mastery over Qi) in order to attain perfect awareness and lucidity (gather his Shen to perfection). It aligns with practices from other traditions such as yoga nidra. By attaining perfect lucidity one can become "lucid" even within the dream of samsara (ie become an "immortal").
Sorry about the multiple posting, but there's something else to consider. If our "threads of attention" are essentially beams of light from the light of God that shines through us (and are what create reality when we modulate them), it makes sense that as a person gathers and aligns more and more of this light into a coherent beam (through meditation, or repeated communion with their subconscious by the practice of magic), siddhis would begin to manifest (because their intention is more coherent and cohesive). And this is exactly what happens!
Physical or metaphysical energy? <--- This is nonsense There's only one energy, it cannot be created or destroyed. It's simply potential to accomplish something. One can accumulate energy or dissipate it but in a sense its always there. Qi/mana/prana/orgone is life energy, which seems to behave much like neutrinos, which seem to be generated by the sun. The aether is made of consciousness, from consciousness everything is made. So consciousness has potential, that is to say energy, to it. Neutrinos are tiny particles but they still have mass, its just barely measurable. Since they are particles, quantum principles apply to them. Quantum particles can be affected by observation. One's conscious mind can affect the life energy, this is also the basis of psionics. There are some seeming relations here, but I'm not entirely sure if anyone has made a connection between neutrinos and life energy other than myself, so consider this a fringe theory.
>>6266 Neutrinos are central to the cosmology of Human Design, and the Urantia book says that there is matter even more subtle than neutrinos which maybe resembles what you are describing. I don't find your theory convincing at all. Can you describe how neutrinos give rise to manifested reality? For example, I posit that the physical world is a projection of a metaphysical implicate order, which is a combination of qi molded by our collective intentions combined. So each one of us, acting as a "lens for the light of God", alter the projection with our intention. And in proportion to the coherence of our attention (you might call it "purity"), our combined power gives rise to a co-created reality. In my view, physical cause and effect is just an illusion that reflects the implicate order, not unlike a dream. How does your view differ exactly, and how does this neutrino-like substance give rise to synchronicity, for example? And how does thought, intention, or something else, interact with these particles exactly? I find this interesting, but I don't quite see it.
>>6269 I never said that neutrinos give rise to manifested reality, Its consciousness which gives rise to reality. I merely noted that neutrinos and life energy (qi/mana/prana/orgone) seem to be alike and thus might be the same thing. Either way, Qi can be manipulated by the mind. I don't think neutrino like substance gives rise to synchronicity. Its more like the whole system of consciousness, all that is, may organize itself via synchronicity. Neutrinos are merely substance which arises from consciousness, just like other substances. Maybe more subtle matter is involved with qi. If we consider quantum principles like the observation affecting the result, that says we can affect quantum particles with thought, that means matter is actually linked with mind and not actually separate onto itself. It might be easier for conventional minds who believe in such particles to affect them since they're so small, but my knowledge of these things is still kind of limited.
So if I read this correctly, energy is composed entirely of attention, so is all you need to do to get yourself away from a spirit is to quit paying attention to it? However, I suppose that this won't keep the spirit away from you; the spirit has its own agency, so it can will itself into a place that you are paying attention to, and then the only way to do stop it from doing that is by being aware enough of the spirit to prevent it from doing so, which paradoxically requires paying attention to it, which brings you closer to it. Or perhaps I didn't read this correctly? >>6257 Also I was hoping noone but OP would reply after this since it'd seemed like OP wasn't finished yet but now all this time has gone by since then and I think that might take a while.
>>6278 That's all I had to post. As for your question, in my opinion, energy is a misnomer. In order to get rid of a spirit, you need to disassociate yourself from it. The attention, as it were, that you are paying it is subconscious. Pretending to not pay it attention when a part of your psyche is with it makes no difference. Practice will answer all your questions. When you try to make psychic contact with someone, what do you see the other person's subconscious do in response? That's the same for you being approached by a pestering spirit. And banishing or cleansing is a great way to undo it. I think it works both by subconscious suggestion as well as qi manipulation (although most magicians will only get as far as the former).
If I try re-allocating my own traumatized energies from what I'm traumatized of to an acid plane, will the trauma actually be dissolved by the acid, thus curing me of the trauma, or would there be some extremely undesirable side effect to go along with that?
>>6459 >to an acid plane Why an acid plane? Let it dissolve in a love and kindness plane or an another beneficial energies plane. If you put your energies into an acid plane they will become "acidic". Do you want your energies to erode you further? What even gave you the idea that you need to put your traumas into an acid plane?
>>6460 I'd just figured that putting my traumas into such a plane will transmute them into a state wherein I could safely neutralize them and then I could turn the energies into something else. I had no idea that it'd turn them acidic, though, but in hindsight that makes sense.
>>6468 Just observe them in equanimity during meditation and let them dissolve (Castaneda's recapitulation), or use John Kreiter's reabsorption methods.
If acid planes exist, does this mean alkaline/basic planes exist too? What about electricity and magnetism planes? Chlorine planes? Uranium planes?
>>6545 Every object that exist represents an individual universe. Every object is alive and has a mind, and the mind itself is a plane. You can project yourself into these planes by projecting yourself into the mind of a particular object or material.
