I've been online for just shy of 23 years. In about 2014 I started falling away from furry, having fell for the siren call of colorful horses. Recently I have abandoned ponies and have started nosing around the furry circles again, and...uhh... Now, I have indeed noticed a decline in the quality of pony art/porn over the last couple of years in the pony circles, but I had attributed this to the better artists moving on, but coming back to furry after several years, the decline is much more noticeable. It is very much like going from panel two to panel three in the posted picture. All I see is one or more of the following: Lower amount detail across the board Anime style art, and not in a good way Niggerboo/bimbo/Generally jacked up proportions Much more stylized/cartoony art What the hell happened? This isn't just a case of Sturgeon's Law. Something is very wrong.
I inclined to bring up the question of the empty internet. Apparently the theory has been out for that 90% of the people you interact with on the internet don't exist, and recently either the singularity is sucking all its processing power away from pretending to talk with us, or the Trump era de-funded the blacklight datacenters than maintained the literal script kiddies.
>>6405 I'd say the answer is lower barriers of entry combined with people trying to make coronabux with porn commissions. That said, what timeframe are you talking about? And where do you judge the average quality of art? Deviantart always had plenty of shit earlier.
I honestly don't see it. Grabbing some random files from 2012 and comparing them with random files from 2022 shows roughly equivalent or slightly improved quality in aggregate. All the files are from my hand-picked collection that I really started working on around ~2015 but includes a couple files I'd saved the years prior, so I can only see your statement being true if the total volume of furry art is growing faster than the quality stuff is. Most things on the internet are getting slower and lower quality like youtube videos and forum posts, so furry art is doing pretty well comparatively.
>>6405 the death bell was when hasbro went copyright crazy and fucked the entire pony fandom. the show's creators and hub were cool with it and didn't let the fandom get IP striked - but hasbro got greedy and said fuck you and nuked the MLP music fandom first then went after the artists.
