Shoutouts to Snark & Tim Leader of GamerGate 02/22/2016 (Mon) 01:38:29 Id: 8b6527 No. 317099
I just recently found out these two are included in the special thanks in this game FIREWATCH its a walking simulator in case you were wondering what kind of game it is. Now this brings up an important question would you still play a game even if the people who made the game look up to someone like Anita or Tim?would you instantly look at it with disgust even if they played no role whatsoever in the development and were merely added there to the credits as a Shout-out?

>>317099 Who would have thought that a shitty walking simulator would specially thank the royalty of SJWs?
>>317099 >instantly look at it with disgust This. Them thanking Sockpuppetian and Mr Shit Face is pretty indicative of what sort of shit they're churning out.

I don't like walking simulators at all so i give no fucks who they credit….but what if it was a game like X-com2 or call of duty or even a WOW Expansion pack. I would be conflicted since i do like those games well X-com i haven't played WOW in Years. As long as they both keep their influence to Niche titles like this and don't branch out im all for it better to contain it than let it run amok spewing shit all over the place
I'd still play if it was a good game, but I would be lying if I said it wouldn't considerably lower my opinion of said hypothetical devs.
>>317109 SJWs who like good games or make good games are thankfully rare.

>>317114 I like this post.
>>317114 The unfailing arrogance stemming from their entitlement mentality is why I dislike SJWs. Coupling that with their inability to see their own incompetence is what really triggers me. Both parts are why they don't partake in self-improvement; they want to reduce everyone to their garbage-tier level. So yeah, competent SJWs are rather an extreme rarity.
>>317099 There's a whole weekend long debate on this on fucking Twitter with Lo-ping and sperg John Kelly. Honestly Anita's only involved in the special thanks portion of the credits. However the game is mediocre and will fail on its own. It's a walking sim with a story. Whoopdeedo. Just state how shitty it is without the whole guilt by association on Femsuck.

>>317099 I kept on seeing all the game journos blowing each other on twitter about this game and it piqued my curiosity just to see what it was like so I stomached my way through a two and a half hour playthrough and HOLY SHIT this game does not look worth the price it's asking. The game starts with a straight up choose your own adventure style backstory with pretty colours and boring looking text and then dumps you in the woods to play "Find the linear plotline" in the woods, it looks like none of your choices actual matter and it all winds up on a complete non ending. this game is journo bait.
Isn't this the one where its about a guy and you go into the woods and its kinda spooky but then it turns out it was just some guy trying to Scooby Doo you into not finding out that he murdered his kid?
I got up to what I believe is the last day of the game - only for my save file to get corrupted and now I can't load it. Fuck this shit.

>>317175 Sucks to be you. i do admire your patience for playing walking simulators, ans the fact that this particular walking simulator is missing some key elements that all but ruin the immersion for me such as the complete lack of any furry woodland creatures at all not even a fucking squirrel, crappy music that can put you to sleep and a chatterbox for a partner. You should return it and get a refund
Fuck Markiplier for making a let's play of this piece of shit.

>Now this brings up an important question I wouldn't call it an important question, imo. The real heart of GamerGate was that there are good, fun games, there are shitty, awful games, and the media was pushing everyone to play shitty games for financial reasons. I don't want to play shitty games, and I don't want to be tricked into, coerced, or lied to such that I accidentally play a shitty game because someone just wanted to get paid. As awful as Tim Schaefer has become, he's been in charge of or a part of some really good games in the past. He was the only tester of the original Maniac Mansion, and his artistic vision was great in Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. Despite his clashes with Kotick and the console market in general, I really enjoyed those games for their varied gameplay, stylistic art direction and casting. They could easily have been cartoon mini-series or movies and have been just as enjoyable to consume. Broken Age is a disjointed, hot mess; will not play. Day of the Tentacle was amazing, would recommend until the end of time. FIREWATCH is just another failure of the indie scene where film school dropouts are trying to push their name and agenda in a young media where they actually have some wiggle room, unlike Hollywood's impenetrable culture if you don't conform. Devs like these will forever be blown out by actual talented folks and games. It's just rarer to see because the labors of love take longer to make and are much rarer than these audio log-stricken first person shooters without shooting, which can be churned out in a few weeks. Anita's name in the credits is a symptom of shitty production, not the cause. Long story short, it's definitely a warning sign and I'm glad people are blasting this fact on their forums and timelines. I'd play another Tim game if it was actually GOOD, and I sure as fuck wouldn't crowdfund it
>>317328 >FIREWATCH is just another failure of the indie scene where film school dropouts are trying to push their name and agenda in a young media where they actually have some wiggle room, unlike Hollywood's impenetrable culture if you don't conform. I can see this. Firewatch feels like it would work better as a movie. Other than the fire, it doesn't even require big special effects or loads of actors. As a game, it feels like it should have been longer, and open world instead of a series of interconnected outdoor corridors.
>>317609 >Name of the game is "Firewatch" There are no fires to watch well except at the ending with the helicopter i think
>>317619 There's definitely a fire ranging by the last day. As I mentioned before, the game corrupted my save, but I hope you get some sort of view of it at the end.
>>317619 >Name of the game is "Half-life" There is a relatively small amount of radioactive material throughout the game
>>317645 A more appropriate name would be Forest watch or man wandering aimlessly through forest while woman on walkie talkie chats endlessly. Then again it doesn't carry as much punch as fire >>317666 SATAN DUBS CONFIRM
>>317099 >FIREWATCH its a walking simulator That explains why nobody fucking bought it/played it at all I literally didn't see or hear anything about this shit after the original teaser Guess even the journos are getting tired of peddling shit >>317120 >competent SJWs are rather an extreme rarity Thats because they shun them away They don't want anyone in their group that reminds them what a pile of fail they are and how they lack any talent As someone who had to work among SJW I remember how they get all passive-aggressive if your actions rob them of any of their time in the limelight, even if you didn't intend to but its inevitable out of their own sheer mediocrity making practically anything else stand out

>>317687 I want this nightmare to end, anon. I want the SJWs to leave us alone.
>>317673 Well, I replayed and finished Firewatch tonight and it was… underwhelming. The mystery solves quite nicely - except for the subtle holes they don't address. And the game feels like a lot was cut from it. Missions, the alt ending, interesting areas that go unused… It certainly didn't deliver the feelings on isolation and loneliness it promised. Nothing particularly "SJW" about the plot or the message of the game, tho. Long Dark has done a better job of that and they don't even have story mode implemented yet.
WHY is that feminazi Anita Sarkeesian in the special thanks credits?
