>>332718 > > Queer Game Studies edited by Bonnie Ruberg, Adrienne Shaw >a friend of Leigh Alexander and the person Dan Golding cited in his Gamers Are Dead article Bonnie Ruberg Reclaiming Video Games One of Ruberg’s key areas of focus is diversity in video games. Ruberg is a leading figure in the emerging scholarly paradigm known as “queer game studies,” which argues that video games can (and should) be reconsidered through the lens of LGBTQ experience. Since 2013, Ruberg has been instrumental in organizing the Queerness and Games Conference, an annual event that brings together academics and game developers, fostering community conversations across fields and making space for queer people working in and around games to thrive. “Historically, video games have been hostile to people who are different or who desire differently,” Ruberg says. “I am passionate about fighting discrimination and laying claim to the medium of video games—for queer folks, but also for people of color, people with disabilities, and many more who have been marginalized.” https://www.informatics.uci.edu/explore/faculty-profiles/bonnie-ruberg/ Bodies of Information: Intersectional Feminism and Digital Humanities https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/39732820-bodies-of-information

> >Toxic Geek Masculinity in Media: Sexism, Trolling, and Identity Policing By Anastasia Salter, Bridget Blodgett Anastasia Salter was plugging Zoe's game! https://ggwiki.deepfreeze.it/index.php?title=Wikipedia > On May 28, 2014, Shaun Edmonds attended a presentation[9] by University of Maryland alum Anastasia Salter about Zoe Quinn's game Depression Quest. Salter uses Twine in her courses[10] and touts it in seminars.[11] Salter studied with the creator of Twine, Chris Klimas, at the University of Baltimore. On May 30, 2014, Shaun Edmonds created a Wikipedia account, at the encouragement of Wikipedia administrator Sarah Stierch.[12] Edmonds created Zoe Quinn's page on that same date, adding mentions to Twine and using promotional language: It literally is the same clique!
