>>122907 I saw this elsewhere and if it was correct then: The Supreme court had 2 rulings, both related to vaccines. The ruling was heavy towards the government doesn't have the power to do so. The 2nd ruling was that healthcare workers that work for a place that receives money from the federal government can be mandated but this ruling only barely managed to pass by a single vote.

GTA 6 Could Be The Only “New” Rockstar Game This Generation, It’s Been Claimed >Back about 20 years ago, players wouldn’t have to wait very long to see a new game from Rockstar. The success of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online however, along with ever-increasing studio ambitions have slowed down their release schedule. >So much that the last brand new game we got from Rockstar remains 2018’s Red Dead Redemption II. It’s almost coming up to a decade since the release of Grand Theft Auto V, and according an industry insider, we shouldn’t expect a change in pattern. >Leaker AcctNgt held a Q/A session on Twitter in which they responded to a question asking how many Rockstar games we can expect. >In terms of “new” games, as in anything not a remaster or remake of some sort, AcctNgt believes we may only get Grand Theft Auto VI. >If that is the case, then it certainly wouldn’t be too surprising considering the likely massive post-launch plans Rockstar has for this title. It is however unfortunate to know that we won’t be seeing anything else new, or even a return to the world of Red Dead Redemption. >A Red Dead Redemption Remaster for PS5 is supposed to be coming, along with a patch for Red DeadRedemption II for PS5, so that’s at least something to look forward to. https://archive.ph/t3bWi As Take Two buys up Zynga, Red Dead Online players rally after months of poor support from Rockstar >Rockstar Games is not the studio it once was. Known for mega-hits like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Max Payne, the publisher subsidiary has gradually reduced its footprint in recent years, focusing its efforts almost entirely on GTA Online. >The gaps between the development of new games seem to grow ever larger, and has become a bit of a meme in recent years, with Grand Theft Auto 6 nowhere to be found. >Even still, Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online remain hugely popular service games. As sandbox experiences, there's virtually nothing out there that offers a similar experience. >Red Dead Online is the ultimate cowboy simulation experience, but Rockstar has, over the years, apparently wound down the development of the game. The most recent update, Blood Money, was all the way back in July 2021, and even that wasn't exactly well-received by the community. >Today, I noticed #SaveRedDeadOnline was trending on Twitter. Fans of the game are fighting to be heard by a largely radio-silent Rockstar, whose only communique on Red Dead Online was to reveal a lackluster bonus EXP event for the next few weeks. >Fans have, apparently, had enough. By comparison, Grand Theft Auto Online receives far larger updates, adding new items, mission types, and other features to keep players engaged and returning to the game. >A recent GTA:O update, The Contract, even featured cameos from the likes of Dr. Dre, It makes sense that fans of Red Dead feel a tad neglected. >Take-Two Interactive in general seems to have been struggling to find its place in an era of subscription services and service-driven games. Despite the runaway success of GTAV and GTA Online, the company's share price has dipped a fair bit over the past year, as it grapples with a general lack of direction and the catastrophe that was the recent Grand Theft Auto Trilogy remakes. >Although, hilariously, as I finished penning this sentence, it was revealed that the publisher is buying up controlling shares in mobile publisher Zynga at a valuation of $12.7 billion dollars. Perhaps that's where the budget for Red Dead Online went? (Jokes.) >It remains to be seen if Rockstar will respond to the #SaveRedDeadOnline outcry, but we've reached out to try and grab a comment from them. https://archive.ph/Pc9ew The timing is just coincidence right? Buying Zynga at the same time as abandoning red dead online? What’s take two end game?
>>123085 This whole live games shit has big publishers concentrating on way too few titles to be safe. One single real failure, and they sink. Imagine them having years of post-launch content in the pipeline already and nothing else whatsoever, and then nobody buys GTA VI. They'd be fucked. We're going to have another vidya crash soon, courtesy of Jewish financial tactics.
>>123086 I wonder how this will end up for these games in the future. I mean, for example, people keep old games alive thanks to things like resident evil classic rebirth, eduke32, GZdoom and such, but how will you take care of these new games after they get abandoned by their publishers?
>>123086 >vidya crash I wish. Those were the times were the best games came out. Anyway, I'm just happy with Rimworld and other sandboxy games.
>>123085 GTA 5 was one the most expensive games ever made. I can only imagine how astronomical the budget for GTA 6 will be. That might be the main reason why there will be only 1 Rockstar game this gen, because they're pouring all their money into funding it.
>>123086 One could make a timeline of Rockstar games & how fewer they come with each new generation (but that seems to apply to many publishers besides Rockstar) <when they were DMA Designs >Body Harvest >Lemmings >Uniracers >Tanktics >Wild Metal Country >GTA I & II <PS2 and Xbox era >GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas >Bully >The Warriors >Manhunt >Max Payne 1 & 2 >Red Dead Revolver >Midnight Club <PS3 & Xbox 360 era >GTA IV >Red Dead Redemption >Max Payne 3 >La Noire >GTA V & online <PS4 & Xbone era >Red Dead Redemption 2 >port of GTA V & online <PS5 & seXbone era >another GTA V port & online >port of PS2-era GTA games
‘Battlefield 2042’ cheat sellers are quitting due to performance issues >A cheat distributor has announced it is stopping selling Battlefield 2042 hacks due to issues with the game’s performance. Lack of demand is a significant factor too >First spotted by well-known industry insider, Tom Henderson, the unnamed cheat provider is suspending its services due to performance issues. >The tweet explains that the reason for doing so is due to “the ongoing performance issue of the game”. It goes on to explain that it “affects the cheat. >The message adds that “most people” don’t use it any more “since the game is dying”. >NME has followed up this tweet and while the comment in question has been deleted by the cheat provider, there are no longer any Battlefield 2042 cheats available to buy on its website. >Anecdotally, someone replied to the tweet stating that a “couple of providers” had also stopped support due to a lack of user base. >While such news means that Battlefield 2042 players should encounter fewer cheats and hackers, it’s might not be good news for the game. >According to SteamDB, Battlefield 2042 has a 24-hour peak of a mere 8,130 players. That’s far fewer players than Battlefield V which had a 24-peak of 19,483. It’s a far cry from its all-time peak two months ago of over 105,000 players. >While some players may be enjoying the game via Origin or consoles, it’s been a tough time for EA DICE‘s multiplayer shooter. Last week, the moderators of the Battlefield 2042 subreddit threatened to shut the board down due to developer harassment. >The news followed a since deleted tweet by EA global communications director, Andy McNamara, who pleaded that “people gotta rest” over the holiday period. It led to some significant backlash on the subreddit. >Recent news that the popular throwback Rush mode would be removed from the game further didn’t help matters. https://archive.ph/SZLNE Hate crimes are soaring. White supremacists have a new recruitment tool: Video games. >They arrived in yellow rental trucks, unfurled their flags, and readied shields and smoke bombs. The hour was late, and the symbolism was unsettling: As the clock inched close to midnight on July 3, about 200 members of the white nationalist group Patriot Front marched through downtown Philadelphia, past Independence Hall and other historic landmarks, while chanting, “Take America back!” >If the demonstration was meant to be a show of strength for the organization, it ended meekly. After scuffling with a handful of counterprotesters, the Patriot Front members retreated into their Penske trucks and then were stopped by Philadelphia police on Delaware Avenue, where some marchers sat dejectedly, their heads bowed. >But the episode served a dual purpose. Social media has proven to be fertile ground for white supremacist and conspiracy-theory movements trying to attract new members. Patriot Front turned footage of its parade through the city into a hype video; on its website, its members likened themselves to Revolutionary War heroes, and insisted, “Americans must dictate America.” >A month before the Philadelphia demonstration, more than 300 researchers and scholars had volunteered to be part of a new effort to curb the spread of extremism: the Collaboratory Against Hate, a center created by the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. >The project is well-timed. More than 8,000 hate crimes were reported in the United States in 2020, the highest total in more than a decade, according to the FBI. In Philadelphia, 63 people were reported as victims of hate crimes, a 320% increase from 2019, when there were 15 victims. Statewide, the number of victims doubled in 2020 to 110, but that’s likely a low estimate; of Pennsylvania’s 1,504 law enforcement agencies, just 734 supplied data to the FBI. >We’re pushing back at something I hear a lot, which is ‘Well, people are always going to hate some people. Hate is human nature, and we’re stuck with it, and there’s always going to be hate groups,’” said Kathleen Blee, the Collaboratory’s co-director. >But it’s not like everybody is racist, and we’re doomed to this. … There is a deeper, more entrenched, more destructive side of extremism and political conspiracy that is not part of human nature. It is deliberately constructed, like anti-Semitism is deliberately constructed in these groups. We just need to apply our tools to get past that >And make that impossible.” Into the rabbit hole’ Collaboratory researchers are first digging into three areas — digital-content moderation, extremism in the military, and youth and extremism. >The last, Blee said, is a newer trend she finds particularly worrisome. White supremacists are using online video-game communities and streaming platforms to approach and recruit teenagers and middle schoolers. >Some entreaties start with jokes, or by introducing white supremacist phrases to pique a child’s interest; others share links to material that lure young gamers deeper. >That’s one of the most disturbing, and one of the least known, phenomena,” said Blee, who has studied white supremacy since the 1980s. “We’re just starting to get a handle on it. For some children, that’s probably an approach that pulls them into the rabbit hole.” >White supremacist narratives rely on a combination of elements to hook recruits: the offer of a collective identity, revelations about sinister conspiracies, and the promise of righting perceived grievances. >Getting into that mind-set, and into that world, virtually or in real life, can be such a fundamentally self-altering experience that it really can be quite difficult to firmly pull yourself out,” Blee said. >Her concerns about hate groups recruiting minors were borne out by a 2021 survey conducted by the Anti-Defamation League, which found that 10% of gamers aged 13 to 17 had encountered white supremacist ideology while participating in online multiplayer games, and 60% had experienced some form of harassment. >They hear people talk about the superiority of the white race, and the desire of a white homeland,” said Daniel Kelley, the associate director of the ADL’s Center for Technology and Society. >Kelley theorizes that large numbers of white supremacists aren’t flocking to online games to recruit new members; instead, savvy ones have just learned to exploit a realm that is inherently vulnerable. In >the wake of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, Facebook and Twitter banned the accounts of former President Donald Trump, and thousands affiliated with far-right extremists, white nationalists, and the conspiracy movement QAnon. And Facebook faced congressional scrutiny when a whistle-blower accused the company of allowing misinformation to spread. >But Kelley said there’s little oversight of online gaming ecosystems, or “gaming adjacent” platforms like Twitch, Steam, and Discord, with some companies flatly opposed to content moderation. >In November, the Department of Homeland Security warned that “racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists” pose a continuing threat to the nation, and might use pandemic-related health restrictions as a reason to target government officials. >Months earlier, ABC News reported that FBI agents in San Antonio concluded in a confidential intelligence assessment that white supremacists were seeking to infiltrate law enforcement and the military to “prepare for and initiate a collapse of society” and harm racial and ethnic minorities. >The Collaboratory Against Hate hopes to shape the data and other insights its researchers assemble into tools that can blunt the growth of extremism. >McLeod left behind a digital footprint that led, unsurprisingly, to dark obsessions and familiar, twisted ideologies. He wrote books under a pen name that, according to Newsweek, included fantasies about committing a mass shooting, and regurgitated white supremacists’ hatred for Black and Muslim people.

That's where I think Zynga's expertise lies." He spelled out his ambition at a time when India's mobile gaming industry is experiencing a massive user boom on the back of pandemic-induced home confinement. >Mobile app downloads in India increased by 50 percent and user engagement rose 20 percent, according to a recent report by consulting firm RedSeer. >The country is also showing early signs of maturity in the gaming sector with people starting to spend money on mobile games in 2021, Moneycontrol reported on December 24. >India is the fastest growing games market in Asia, with its mobile and PC gaming revenue projected to reach $534.1 million in 2021, according to Niko Partners, a market research and consulting firm that covers video games, e-sports, and streaming in the continent. >The market is set to grow at a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29.8% to touch $1.49 billion in 2025. This does not include revenue generated by real money games, or online games on whose outcome real money is wagered. Focus on mobile gaming >Take-Two Interactive had on January 10 announced plans to acquire Farmville developer Zynga in a cash-and-stock deal worth $12.7 billion, making it the largest acquisition in the video game industry, surpassing Microsoft Corporation's acquisition of ZeniMax Media in September 2020 and Tencent's purchase of Supercell in 2016. >The deal is expected to create a global gaming powerhouse with a diverse portfolio spanning consoles, personal computers and mobile devices. After the deal is completed, the combined Zynga and Take-Two Mobile games business will operate under the Zynga brand as its own label within the company, led by Zynga's current CEO Frank Gibeau and its president of publishing, Bernard Kim. >Take-Two Interactive plans to leverage Zynga's mobile gaming expertise to bring several of its console and PC game franchises to the mobile platform, which Zelnick said is currently the fastest growing segment of the interactive entertainment industry. >There is also an opportunity to enhance existing titles with cross-platform experiences and cross-promote content to a broader audience. >Once the deal closes, the company predicts mobile to comprise over 50% of its net bookings in FY2023, up from an estimated 12% in FY2022. >Apart from FarmVille, Zynga's portfolio includes Words With Friends, High Heels!, Zynga Poker, CSR Racing, Empires & Puzzles, Golf Rival, Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells, Toon Blast, and Toy Blast, among others. Take-Two Interactive's roster of games franchises include Red Dead Redemption, BioShock, NBA 2K, Mafia, Civilization and Midnight Club, besides Grand Theft Auto. >In May last year, Take-Two Interactive had announced plans to release about 62 games by March 2024, which the company said was the strongest developer pipeline in its history. Developer presence in India >The acquisition is also expected to boost Take-Two Interactive's developer presence in India. >Zynga set up a research and development (R&D) centre in Bengaluru in early 2010 and subsequently launched a gaming studio in 2013 that started managing the game development for several of its biggest mobile and web games including FarmVille titles and other games in genres such as action strategy and Match-3 puzzles. >The firm expanded the studio in July 2019. Zynga spokesperson told Moneycontrol that its India studio currently has about 550 employees, making it one of the largest outside the United States. >Take-Two Interactive has had a developer presence in the country initially under the Rockstar Dedicated Unit banner (a partnership with Technicolor) and later a studio called Rockstar India, set up in August 2016. >Rockstar Games also acquired India's oldest video games company Dhruva Interactive for $7.9 million from Swedish video game developer Starbreeze Studios in May 2019. >Take-Two Interactive declined to disclose the size of Rockstar India. Moneycontrol has learnt that the studio has more than 500 employees, taking the combined developer base to more than 1,000 after the deal closes. >Globally, Take-Two Interactive said it has about 5,600 developers while Zynga has 2,200 developers, bringing the total combined base to about 8,000 developers across consoles, PCs and mobile platforms. https://archive.ph/0Ejlc

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Open-World Mode Potentially Leaked >According to a new report, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare -- also known as Call of Duty 2022 -- will have an open-world mode. We've been hearing about the next COD for months, and in recent weeks, we've been hearing about a new mode it will introduce called "DMZ." And according to a prominent Call of Duty insider and leaker, Ralph, this mode has been described to him as an "open-world title" featuring a "procedurally generated world with varied missions, AI, weather, and events." >Unfortunately, this is the extent of information divulged by Ralph. Previous reports have suggested the mode is similar to Escape From Tarkov and that it was originally in development for 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but work on it ceased at some point during development to presumably focus on other elements of the game. >It's been reported that this year's installment has had more development time than previous games, which may explain why it could be set to have an extra -- and from the sounds of it, ambitious -- mode. >All of that said, like everything we've been hearing about next year's Call of Duty, everything here is unofficial, which means take it with a grain of salt. It's likely going to be at least a few months -- if not a handful more -- before we get any official information on what Infinity Ward has cooking. https://archive.ph/LhlL3 If leaks are true call of duty copying battlefield 2042 least played and hatred game mode for some reason. Logan Paul says the boxes of first-edition Pokemon cards he bought for $3.5 million are fake and actually contain G.I. Paul released a video titled "I lost $3,500,000 On Fake Pokemon Cards." >In the video, Paul travels to Chicago to verify if his cards are real with the Baseball Card Exchange. YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul says he bought a $3.5 million box of Pokémon cards that turned out to be fake. >In a video titled "I lost $3,500,000 On Fake Pokémon Cards," Paul flies to Chicago to verify the legitimacy of several boxes of Pokémon cards he purchased with the Baseball Card Exchange (BBCE). This story is fucking crazy, and it sucks, and I'm out $3.5 million," Paul said. Paul, purchased a series of what he believed were "sealed and authenticated" boxes of first edition Pokémon cards. >However, when the BBCE representative actually opened the boxes, they were filled with packs of G.I. Joe collectible cards and not Pokémon cards. G.I. Joe? G.I. Joe! >It could have been anything else!" an angry Logan Paul yelled! Paul also noticed that the card boxes were not labeled "first edition." >It's sad for the Pokémon community, like, how many fraudulent things are out there," Paul added. "Damn, bro. I just went from 11 first-edition boxes to five. We got fucked, end of story." >Paul was tipped off to the possibility that the cards might be fake after a trading card fan site dug into the purchase history of the deck Paul purchased. He tweeted on January 4 that he was flying to Chicago to verify if the deck was real. >Paul is known for being an avid collector of Pokémon cards and opening expensive boxes of cards in his videos. >Some videos on Paul's page feature him showing off a card that cost him $150,000, a deck that he forked out $200,000 for, and a first-edition Pokémon box he says he paid $1 million for. >Until I collected Pokémon cards, I never felt like I was able to capture a piece of my childhood back," Paul told Insider last year. "I love how the cards look and how they make me feel: like a big kid with a lot of money to spend on cardboard." >Pokémon card prices skyrocketed in 2020 after YouTubers and influencers glommed on to the hobby, and nostalgic Millennials took to collecting cards during the pandemic. >Diehard Pokémon collectors have complained that increased interest in the cards also led to an influx of scalpers and scammers into the community. >Scalpers "have taken something already in short supply and made it even more inaccessible," collector Lee Steinfeld told Insider's Steven Aarsch last June. >The worst thing about it is that it's not allowing people to continue collecting, build their competitive decks, or simply play for fun due to lack of supply." https://archive.ph/ngm20

Didn't believe him at first until I notices the same behaviors in some of my autistic friends and myself. Alot of people compares me to Shinji considering I act submissive and timid majority of the time, always in conflict with himself while overthinking every little thing. One of my other friends act a lot like Auska, just change a pussy to a cock and you basically have the most narcissistic and bitchy dude with a god complex on the planet. Was diagnose with autism in high school and he's you're typical autismo who likes Nintendo a little too much. I also had a girlfriend who was a combination of Asuka and Misato, narcissistic attitude but really fun to be around once you get to know her. She was always on some mode of defense, like everyone is against her except for me. She had really bad PTSD from the abuse she got from her relatives so I can blame that on her attitude. Thinking back, I was her Shinji and she was my Asuka. She was really attractive too. Big breast, nice ass, hips that can bare 10 children at one time, the works. No one wanted to deal with her, but I did for some reason. I had a classmate in art class back in HS who acted just like Rei and I later found out she was autistic. She use to sit next to me. She was cute but really withdrawn, oblivious to a lot of social cues, and didn't know basic hygiene. For fuck sake she smelled of sweat mixed with cheese. I just assumed she had PE before class, but later learned she didn't take showers and once in a blue moon she does. In short, the three main children are autistic to some extent. If you scam someone with a bad product, that doesn't make you a monster, just an asshole. But terrifying someone into devoting their entire life and savings to you only to leave them in the dirt is evil. People are stupid, but so are Jews, because they think that by doing the latter that they'll get away with no consequences. It's why they're known as jews rather then scammers. You get me? Do what you want, but keep in mind that criminality has a code, and it's violation will result in your death or loss of freedom. Do not take blood, take money. When it tears apart it's is generally a death sentence; I think that's even the case if it's the more distal parts of the aorta in the abdomen, although probably less so since by then a lot of blood has been distributed. Still not good and not very survivable because even there it's a large vessel at high pressure. I thought this kind of thing was mainly caused by trauma, but a congenital weak spot giving away is I would guess not uncommon. I think atherosclerosis more often kills by aneurysm or thrombosis in smaller vessels or those in the brain rather than damage to the aorta, but I could be completely wrong and I guess there's no reason it couldn't kill this way if the other vessels happened to hold up better. The aorta being big and thick, though, probably lets it hold up better than thin little arteries in the brain--but I'm just spitballing.

Because China simultaneously likes to thump its chest about Korea when really all they did was get massacred in human wave charges against machine guns. But see that recent movie that btfo’d all the (((Hollywood))) blockbusters in China about the People’s Liberation Army fighting in the Chosin reservoir. That being said, with how many nations fought in Korea, and all the battles that took place, I think you could make a great Korean War game. Marines landing at Inchon and fighting north until the Red Chinese attack, getting pushed back and surrounded at the Chosin reservoir, then fighting their way out of encirclement. The John Madden Video Game Concussion Drama, Explained >Legendary NFL coach John Madden died on the morning of Tuesday, December 28. While many took the occasion of his passing to celebrate the man’s coaching, broadcasting, and video game legacy, others used it as an opportunity to call Madden out for his part in turning “brain injuries into a video game.” >The takes were incendiary enough to take over sports social media and websites for days. The concussion discussion following John Madden’s death seems to originate from a pair of sources. >The first is a tweet from independent Journalist Marcy Wheeler, posted on the evening of Madden’s passing. The tweet reads, “Everyone eulogizing Madden: How many concussions could we have prevented had he not turned brain injuries into a video game?” >Wheeler, who specializes in civil liberties and national security matters, lists her football and head trauma experience as playing as the star monsterback on a powderpuff team and six years of rugby, during which she played through at least one concussion. She also says a fellow rugby player died on the field. >Then on Wednesday, December 29, a history professor at Dallas College named Dr. Andrew McGregor offered his opinions on John Madden via his Twitter account, currently set to private. His initial tweet read, >I have lots of opinions on John Madden. The creation of the Madden video game was not a great development for the U.S. It further glamorized violence and dehumanized Black athletes, helping to establish plantation cosplay that has grown worse in the era of fantasy football.” >The thread, archived over at Barstool Sports, eventually resolves to the same sentiment expressed by Wheeler, albeit with a puzzling racism angle applied. “The key here,” McGregory writes in the thread, “is consumption of the sport as distorted reality. >Video games dehumanize players, they create fantasies of super teams and notions of control and management (replicated in fantasy sport) where we control and manipulate rosters and players. >It’s deeply problematic.” Dr. McGregor’s tweets have been widely panned and criticized by fans of both the sport and the video game series. >Many objected to his calling the Madden franchise “a digital plantation” that uses players names and likenesses for profit while encouraging fans to disregard the humanity behind them, and by extension their health. >In response to such extreme tweets, many also point to a tweet by the doctor from 2017, in which he talks about playing Madden with his brother, as evidence of hypocrisy. The responses to Marcy Wheeler’s tweet are, as one would imagine, pretty harsh. >There are plenty of embarrassingly misogynist replies, some name-calling, and several people suggesting that EA’s Madden NFL series actually prevented brain injury by giving those interested in the sport a safer, non-contact way to play. In response to the question, “do you think the video games give people concussions,” Wheeler replies, “No. I think the video games led fans to think the real sport was a video game.” >To be fair, the National Football League hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to the dangers of traumatic head injuries. Amidst a flurry of concussion concern in 1994, the NFL formed the Mild Traumatic Brain Injury committee, appointing a doctor with little experience in brain science as committee head. >In December of that year, NFL commissioner Paul Tagliablue called concussions a “pack journalism issue,” suggesting the media were making too much noise about a relatively minor issue. During the same year, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman took a knee to the head in 1993 season NFC Championship game, a game he to this day cannot remember playing, and Chicago Bears fullback Merrill Hoge retired after a concussion left him briefly unable to recognize his wife and son. >There’s an excellent timeline of the NFL’s ongoing concussion crisis over at PBS.org. It deftly breaks down a long history of the league trying to minimize the dangers of head trauma while the medical community slowly learns more about said dangers. >Repeated head trauma, the medical experts say, can lead to chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, which can cause memory loss, aggressive behavior, motor neuron disease, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Doctors examing Andre Waters and Terry Long, two former NFL players who committed suicide, found signs of CTE in both. >The question of whether repeated head trauma is dangerous to your health has been answered. Yes. A lot. And the NFL has gotten slightly better about it, actively warning of the dangers of concussions and enacting rules to try and curb their frequency instead of casually waving them off. >Back to Marcy Wheeler and Dr. McGregor’s post-mortem swipes at John Madden. Though the NFL’s history with dealing with head trauma has been bad, Madden has long spoken out about the league’s lax position on players receiving concussions. >ESPN’s Taylor Twellman, in response to comments about Madden being an instigator, tweeted a video of the man commenting on the danger of concussions back in 1993. I think of a guy had a concussion or has a concussion then he shouldn’t play anymore,” Madden says in the clip. >They always talk about boxing being archaic, but if a boxer gets knocked out he can’t fight for another month. And sometimes in football we say, ‘Oh that guy has a slight concussion, he’ll be right back in.’ I don’t know if I ever agreed with that.” >As for how EA’s Madden franchise handles head trauma and injuries as a whole, that has slowly changed over the years. In early entries, players getting injured during a game would result in an ambulance taking the field, comically knocking other players out of the way to get to the wounded one. >The ambulance was removed after Madden 2001, as the NFL felt it glorified injuries. The hit stick, which allowed players to perform stylish hard-hitting tackles, was removed shortly after it was introduced in Madden 2005 because the NFL felt it promoted violence. >There are no career-ending injuries in the game anymore. And concussions have historically been referred to as “head injuries.” >These in-game head injuries meant a player might be out for a couple of quarters in older Madden games. That changed in Madden 12, in which players with a head injury would be out for the remainder of the game, with commentators Gus Johnson and Chris Collinsworth talking about the seriousness of head trauma when such injuries occur. >Head injuries are still in the game to this day, but they are not referred to as concussions. That’s a mandate from the NFL, however, and not Madden. >The NFL seems keen to keep the series from getting too violent. But by keeping the word concussion out of the in-game discussion, I can see how someone might think it’s sending the wrong message to football fans. >Yes, football is violent. People get hurt. Players suffer life-changing trauma. The hits are hard. The potential for injury is what kept me, a six-and-a-half-foot-tall high school sophomore, from joining the Dunwoody Wildcats. >I still play Madden every year, and never once has it made me feel like getting my head bashed in was okay. https://archive.ph/dkW9F Madden not even died for a month and kotaku already writing hit pieces articles calling him racist and implying football wasn’t popular until the madden games.

>>123317 >or did someone see that non-whites and women are incredibly stupid, and very loose with their money, so they saw that they could drain them of it by selling them more types of stuff You're pretty fucking close anon. First: Women are the primary purchases in the household and make most of the purchasing decisions. Women also spend more money than men in general, since men are more likely to save and invest money than women are. So targeting women is big money. Second: Black people are also spendthrifts and will spend ridiculous money on garish shit to look good and forego basic necessities so they don't "look poor". This is just as true for urban american basketballers as it is for those unsold slaves still in Africa. Thirdly, most of the west had already hit what they call a "debt ceiling", which is that everyone in the west had already borrowed as much as they were going to, either in loans or on credit cards, and refused to indebt themselves any further, and so "economic growth" (which is what they call it) had stagnated. So what's the solution? Import people who don't (yet) have any debt, who make poor purchasing decisions, are no good with money, and will sign ridiculous contracts without ever thinking they'll have to pay the money back because they have no sense of such a thing. Ergo, we have an immigration crisis or, as the people who own the banks who desperately want to lend money at interest call it, a "moral imperative" to import third world shitskins to show them advertisements of nigs fucking white women wearing Air Jordans. White men, on the whole, are the most likely to earn money but least likely to spend it. They are also the only demographic that are a net positive when it comes to taxes. Every other demographic takes more in tax kickbacks and support (childcare or welfare) than they do in actually paying taxes. So the obvious solution is to gut the middle (white) class and demonise white men and blame them for the breakdown and eventual collapse of civilisation because (((reasons))). These are two relevant grabs from my "Fuck Africa" series.

>>123369 That headline which went around was based on someone confusing phyloestrogens and an equal amount of actual estrogen. But "phyloestrogen" just means anything from plants that mimics the effect of estrogen, they're thousands of times weaker than actual estrogen is. It's unclear whether phyloestrogens in any amount an adult can realistically eat have a relevant effect on health. (Though there's some indication of effects in infants from soy-based infant formula, which makes sense since the amount they consume compared to their body-weight is going to be massive compared to anything an adult can eat.) Anyway, my recommended resource for the phyloestrogen content of various foods is this USDA compilation of data: https://www.ars.usda.gov/ARSUserFiles/80400525/Data/isoflav/Isoflav_R2.pdf Look at the "total isoflavones" numbers. Mostly it has to do with whether something is soy-based, but there's definitely things you wouldn't expect. For instance "JACK IN THE BOX, Beef Monster Taco" is 15.90 somehow, "Subway, meatball sandwich" is 6.00, and "McDONALD'S, Warm Cinnamon Roll" is 6.00, compared to "Veggie burgers or soyburgers, unprepared" which is 6.39. Tofu ranges from around 20-50 based on preperation method, soy protein drinks are 81.65, and soy flour is around 170. Of course this is all relative to weight, consumption is going to depend on how much actually goes into a meal and how regularly you eat that meal. So for example a meal with tofu in it is probably overall going to be less than a Subway meatball sandwich, because for the sandwich they tested the whole sandwich and for the tofu they only tested the tofu. Similarly the veggie burger doesn't account for the bun, and the soy flour is for dry flour and obviously doesn't include the weight of the water and so on in actual bread. >>123373 Whatever its other flaws this probably doesn't actually have any phyloestrogens, since it uses faba beans instead of soy beans. >>123381 "May contain" means it might use the same equipment and end up with some tiny contamination for people with allergies, it's not really relevant.

>>123385 The soyboy meme is real but it's not as simple as cuckchan thinks. Phytoestrogens don't make you estrogenic. They indirectly block estrogen because they use the same receptors. That's why it helps women with breast cancer. The actual soyboy maker are the natural toxins the soy contains unless it goes through fermentation. Japanese tamari and shoyu sauces, miso and few other products are fermented and fine in this sense. Everything else that contains soy is estrogenic because of all the anti-nutrients.

They don't. it's the anime that does that since they run out of material to adapt. If a mangaka gets forced to do anything by an editor or the head of a magazine it's to extend the series after the series had ended. This is important because we have examples of that many times and there are two examples of why it was bad and why it was good(according to nip/a/) and it was with Hokuto no Ken(2nd part was shit) and Dragon Ball(nips love Cell and are ok with Buu).

>>123537 >You thought Goku would ever pass the torch? Gohan had been foreshadowed as succeeding Goku very early on in DBZ. He, and the other Saiyan children, were shown to be growing much faster than their parents. >Do you also think that Dragon Quest should evolve? Yes. I played a bunch of the old ones through emulators in recent years and they were great. I recently played XI. It was pretty fucking boring. Nips go apeshit over DQ pretty much every time, so I wonder if DQXI was as successful as past entries, not counting X and IX, since they're non-standard. >Do you also unironically think that Final Fantasy was full of masculine and macho characters before 7? It had plenty of them. Don't believe the concept art when it's so far removed from the depictions of characters in-game.
>>123550 And I find it dizzying. Alice from Detroit Beyond Human and Marlene from FFVIIR has nearly zilch. Did her age hit the content creators' strike zone or something?

>>123570 >WHo the fuck do you think Goku is anon Before or during DBZ? If it's the latter, he's he runt of the Saiyan race, sent to a planet no one cares about (Why does this sound like Invader Zim?), ironically becoming the most powerful being in the universe, albeit due to genetics rather than sheer desire, and becomes the last line of defense to all the villains out there. Only to then die as a result of his genetic desire to fight the toughest fights. Before, he was just a wacky monkey kid who wanted to do nothing except spar with friends, eat food, and happened upon adventures as a result of just being there. Hell, Goku wasn't even the most powerful being back then as you had new allies always popping up that either equaled of succeeded his power. For example, back during the Piccolo saga, you had Yajirobe already rivaling Goku, who just fought Adult Piccolo, while Tenshinhan was off trying to perfect the sealing spell.
>>123401 That's the greatest and most uplifting thing I've fucking read in years. It also reflects what I've been saying about technology all those years too. That isn't to say that all the shit on top of the foundation wouldn't falter, fail and combust in the meantime, but seriously, I'm just waiting for a Pluto's Kiss/Deadly Flash scenario to rear its ugly head and wreak havoc.

>>123575 >You just have to wait for 99% of old programmers to die Should it be brought up that Halo 2 is perhaps the biggest example of magical "It just works" programming? According to the interviews that come out surrounding M$' effort to make the MCC, they unironically had to pull every single ex-Bungie dev that was available into the office for the sole purpose of having them decipher what each line of code actually did since so much of it was just Bungie throwing commands at the wall and not touching it if it didn't break. Now, multiply that by majority of today's technology being built upon nothing more than the hopes and dreams of 70's code monkeys that are making it all up as they goes along, and it's unimaginable how much things will crash.

>>123586 Dragon Ball aired in Mexico in 1990, that's 32 years ago, so many people born in the early 80's grew watching the show (now adults in their late 30's early 40's), many became really attached to it, also the show was rerun to no end, until 2019 which was the last year it aired on open air TV signal, so with that many generations have grew on it. About the loli fixiation, my guess is that back in the late 80's early 90's Mexico's open air TV channel "Canal 5" with help of the other 2 open Air TV channels "Azteca 13" and "Azteca 7" used to air a lot of Anime, most of the time uncensored just like how it was broadcast in Japan (People here thought "is a cartoon, bet there's nothing wrong in it") so we were exposed to pantyshoots, titty flashes and all that nice fanservice that 80's/90's anime had, later when parents and adults noticed the fanservice, the demanded edits and censorship to those animes, so reruns were edited (but sometimes some fanservice slipped on the broadcast). Considering that many 80's anime did have fanservice on the loli side, is probably that we adopted the same likeness for the loli as the japanese otakus does. Also Sakura Card Captor had a shitload into making many Latin weebs into lolicons in the Early 2000's (back when the internet was wild and a load of doujins about loli could be found easily on the wild). >>123590 It wasn't nationwide, it only happened in the state of Coahuila, source: https://www.elsiglodetorreon.com.mx/noticia/2018/japon-frena-transmision-de-dragon-ball-super-en-coahuila.html https://archive.is/CopSd
