What the hell, one for the road and I'm out
>Except Toriyama retconned it so he was particularly good at fighting specifically because he was an alien.
No, that's not what he did. The retcon was that Goku's power kept rising abnormally due to him being an alien, due to the Zenkai boosts. Humans, after discovering Ki and how to harness it with Mutaito being the first, then his students Roshi and Tsurusen and later their students, they came to understand ki and how to harness it better and better to the point where the students of the students of the original master would far surpass the alien monsters of the cosmos
that were naturally gifted with large amounts of ki and control over it. There was never the idea of Superman in it.
>You say this as if this isn't also the case on Superman's version of Earth.
Don't you fucking play coy with me fucko, you mentioned the movies and that's not the case in the movies. It was also not the case for Golden Age Superman either, even when DC was advertising about its other heroes, like the Spectre. The movies are what the nips knew, that's what they got, so Superman's "comicverse" was unknown to them in the 70s and 80s. They weren't interested in it in the first place, not even underground comics like GARO Magazine cared about them.
>You have no idea how autistic I am for this shit.
I know full well how autistic you are, you act exactly like one and it doesn't help because for all the memery about autism and higher intelligence, that's not how it works. You know half-shit.
>ou're mad that it isn't as good a story as the Bardock special and other elements that were implied in the manga.
Stop trying to do that. That's not why I'm mad.
>My argument that Goku's origin was retconned to be Superman rests entirely on the things Raditz said in the initial retcon. Those things he said change an origin that previously was nothing like Superman to one that is now significantly like Superman. Additional elements would only come much later and have little to do with my argument either way.
This is why I say you know half-shit and your autism is a hindrance. Nothing was ever retconned, the original "retcon" of DB if you wanna call it that was Goku going from a fully gag manga that parodied Journey to the West and would have ended there, given he "defeated" Ox King, the ultimate villain of the first part of JttW and would have done gag shit after that. The editor told Tori to make it more adventureous than that, so Tori changed it and you see that shift with the RR army. After that, DB started becoming more action-y and more serious and we get the "True Ox King", Piccolo Daimou, who's drawn like a Dragon Quest demon instead to hit home the "leader of an army of demons" feel Ox King had. Throughout that adventure however there was a theme of Toriyama's favourite series having small references and slowly morphing Dragon Ball to the franchise it is today. Series like
>Mazinger Z
>Getter Robo
>Captain Harlock
>Godmars an alien child that can fly and through ki beams and turn Golden?
>Cyborg 009 the fights are close to how Joe Shimamura fights and Great Britain was fucking Oolong
>Space Battleship Yamato
>Nausicaa
>Galaxy Express 999
>Gundam
>Gatchaman
>Macross
>Space Knight Tekkaman
>Ippatsuman
>Casshern
>Kamen Rider
>Super Sentai
>Baldios Toei even blatantly stole Baldios' special attack "Thunder Flash" for Paikuhan
And so many more beyond the obvious trifecta of Saint Seiya-Hokuto no Ken-Kinnikuman that is more apparent to westerners. Heck, Toriyama may joke about his whole
>I got bored of colouring the characters hair
shit but his idea of the hero turning golden, hair raising etc was even showcased by Exkaiser a whole year before it appeared in the manga.
Superman, like Terminator are the obvious influences to the western eyes since that's what (you) and others know better but they are,
AT BEST, tertiary to the bigger things that shaped Dragon Ball and only became a thing because that's what the west kvetched about. Just like how they fucked Metroid to the ground because they kvetched about Samus being Ripley in Alien instead of realising that Samus was always motherfucking Jouji Minami at his angriest, the aliens and the space pirates where the Radam all along, to the point of Nintendo outright stealing some designs nd nobody raised a pip when Nintendo copied Getter Robo for the visuals of the Varia suit and its "Shine Spark".
I say all that because ever since the RR army there's been a theme present in Dragon Ball, a theme of incorporating sci-fi elements in a very magical adventure to make it closer to the age it was written(80s-90s) and closer to the things Toriyama liked, namely machinery(the manga has a ton of machine porn at times because Tori loves that shit) and monsters. Goku didn't become a Superman expy in order to fit the Saiyans in; Goku's origins as a mythical being were subverted by introducing the sci-fi element of aliens, being from beyond the Earth, a sci-fi take on the Gods and Buddhas in the Jade Emperor's pallace.
Dumbfucks however insisted on the Superman shit because that's the only vaguely sci-fi story they know and dumbfuck normalniggers never bother going beyond what they know.
>Yeah, but it was two massive blockbusters showcasing the story where an alien baby escapes a dying planet only to be found by old rural earthlings and be raised as one of us only with special alien power. That's quite a specific story, and one that many people, almost surely including Toriyama, saw, so the chance of him retconning the protagonist of his comic book to have all of those elements in his origin seems likely not to be a coincidence.
It is. Voltes V has a similar story with one of its bad guys, Godmars had a similar backstory for the first episode and then took a shit on it, it's not original and people who didn't even know of the Superman films before the Nip dub could come up with that shit. Your autism blinds you and you make connections where there are none because you're afraid to connect the actual dots beyond your western memories.
>But the tone of Toriyama's stories also leaned away from the hardcore musclemen more into comedic and slice of life.
It didn't because he wanted, it did out of him not giving a fuck after Bandai Namco and Korea cucked him over his time travelling, dimension spanning epic that was to be Dragon Ball Online, where in the year 1000, the player would have go from simply having an adventure like OG DB to uncovering a plot from the depths of the Demon Realm in a storyline more akin to Dragon Quest 1,2,3, Dai no Daibouken and DQ : Legend of Abel than anything else, beating demons, correcting history in epic battles with past foes, going beyond his limits and unlocking new limits of power until he faced of against the ironically named Mira and Towa, the two demons in charge of this, with the aim to resurrect Dabra, Towa's brother, and revive the demon realm in order to usurp Hell and defeat the Kais and enslave King Enma.

None of this happened and only some vague plotpoints of it are used in Xenoverse, Heroes and even Toriyama's other projects
>Cell Max is Cell X from DBO essentially
>The whole "Piccolo Unleashed" shit is from DBO as well, Namekians have a "super namekian" form where their eyes glow red and their antenae are straightened like Orange Piccolos
>Everyone's super strong since evryone knows about Ki since Gohan published his research as a scholar
And so on.
>Even Shallot there looks a lot twinkier than early '90s Dragon Ball.
I can see why you say that, however Shallot is 17 in-game and he's buffer than Goku was when he was the same age. In fact, Goku was chunky at that age.
