Nice bread, GaymerGays!
I hate Metroid Dread and think it's a terrible game, but I hate more all the fucking casuals and leftist faggots criticising it for being too difficult, or because they are human trash that doesn't understand how metroid games work. It feels as if I have to defend a shit game that I hate and won't ever like due to the nonsense these retards are spewing. It vaguely reminds me of the time casuals were getting stuck en masse at the start of super metroid, same faggots who were claiming they always loved the game.

>>86084 In Super Metroid, you had to walk through a fake wall, and it doesn’t show up on your X-Ray Visor, so it's not even a new thing
>>86085 Yeah, the game is fun however there should've been some sort of cracks in the wall to subtly hint where to go. Additionally one of the things about Dread that I ALSO got lost on was after killing the second EMMI, I had no idea where to go. The last thing on my mind was to go back to the first world on the map, and do some sort of shenanigans there. I like the idea in concept and I think Dread is a FANTASTIC game, however they could've had more subtle hints on where to go after finishing an objective.
>>86094 Kind of sounds like these games are sort of shit.
>>86093 I hate it because it's Fusion. I would even say Dread has better gameplay and is a better game despite the shit story and condescending modern design, timewasters and all. I'm actually surprised casuals are having a hard time with the game despite obvious design decisions made to cater to them.

>>86085 I can remember solving plenty of these bullshit puzzles in metroid, zelda, and others (mostly adventure), and I'd say the feeling you get when solving it justifies the "bad design". There is more to design than just rational guidelines, and they play test these things to see if the average gamer can actually solve it. These roadblocks are usually within paths were it is fairly obvious its where you need to be. You can call it padding, but bullshit outside of the box thinking is what makes metroid special. If you just plowed through a metroid game without ever getting stuck while solving every room immediately, it would feel like a really shitty action platformer. You need that "aha" moment, when a game gives you obvious clues it doesn't feel special.
>>86067 What kind of tea is Satsuki drinking?
>>86071 >Second webm That's been the game's design since day one. That's just about the design for ANY open-world game. If you're lost and don't know where you go, you start whamming on anything and everything until something clicks. >>86101 >my first Metroid game You fail on two accounts. FIRST, don't start ANY series when latest entries. You start with the first. In the case of Metroid that's the original (On NES, GC, or GBA) or Zero Mission (On the GBA). SECOND, that's open-world non-sandbox game design 101. Like I said, if you're lost and don't know where to go, you start shooting the shit out of everything. Especially when the fucking clue in that video is that the hallway you see up above is a dead end.

>>86084 Tentatively, he's not entirely wrong. I haven't played the game, so I don't know if there are text clues, previous "tutorial" setpieces, or enemy animations that would tip an attentive player off which flew entirely over his balding scalp. I also don't know if the area he's trying to get to is a "secret" area needed for 100% map completion or a powerup, or if it's a main path. Personally, I would have thought that having an adjoining room onscreen with enemies present would have been an indication of something hidden or a "trick" being necessary to move forward. But again, I haven't played the game so I don't know if different map sections will overplay the same screenspace. Some games do, some don't. If you're entirely new to the series, I can see where it could cause confuse and would be a bad design choice. If you have experience with Metroid games, you gotta know that's part of the package deal, and rather than complaining about it - then at least put in the effort to shoot walls and look for secrets before going online to make an ass out of yourself by complaining that you can't find it. Reminder that the highlight of this guy's career was the God of War franchise - which are fine for cheesecake, but are just about the lowest entry tier games of their genre that you can get. He doesn't have a lot of room to pretend to talk authoritatively about good game design.
>>86071 Must be hard living with a complete inability to problem solve. It was so simple I can't even remember having "solved" it. I just breezed past it because it's so dead simple. >>86084 the very fact that you can see the other side is meant to be an indication that you can maybe try shooting at it, it's not like it requires some outside the box thinking, shooting wildly in general, which you are more or less meant to do. means most people find the wall completely by accident, and those who don't are again, very likely to try because at that point you're confined to a small area and that's the only part where you can see an inaccessible area through a small wall. >>86091 It feels amazing so far, no idea what you're seeing wrong with it.
>>86131 >God of War >not Twisted Metal
>>86128 >System Shock 1 Ok, I've only played a few bits of System Shock 1, it was incompatible with my mouse. >>86071 >Have an infinite ammo primary weapon that can destroy blocks >Not shooting it everywhere possible Some people are just not cut for vidya gaem
>>86133 Twisted Metal was the better game series, but it wasn't his highlight. Even if you consider it to be, there wasn't a whole lot of comparable level design. It was a vehicular arena shooter. None of the secrets or side-areas were vital to the progression of the game. They were completely optional paths that either hid power-ups or allowed you to flank enemies.
(674.85 KB 1000x793 samus.gif)

>>86061 >>86071 Imagine being filtered by a Metroid game of all things. What a faggot. The game handed me my ass a good few times and that was what I expected. Learning item locations and enemy attack patterns are part of the fun. If he wants a game to hold his fucking hand he should stick to fucking walking simulators.
>>86134 >Ok, I've only played a few bits of System Shock 1, it was incompatible with my mouse Play the enhanced edition then. And make or look up some maps.
>>86135 But again, he's not entirely wrong in that hidden areas that don't have at least SOME kind of visual clue that something is off about it are annoying as fuck. It's like comparing Wolfenstein 3D to Catacombs Abyss (or even DOOM) where Wolfenstein mostly relied on you strafing walls and jamming the space key until you heard the sound of a wall moving. Catacombs and Doom typically had some sort of audio cues, or discolored walls, or strategically placed environmental clues. Anything that breaks the pattern, usually indicated that there was something hidden nearby. If you're just running around aimlessly blasting walls at random in hopes of something opening up, that's a lot of wasted time and effort - and not a great design choice. Of course, that doesn't apply to his complaint about Metroid Dread because as >>86108 pointed out... all the clues were right fucking there for him the whole time. At least enough to warrant a few casual shots out of curiosity.

"I love the Raiders and do not want to be a distraction," Gruden said in a statement the team issued Monday. He went on to thank the team's players, fellow coaches and fans before adding an apology: "I'm sorry, I never meant to hurt anyone." >EA Sports cited the circumstances surrounding Gruden's resignation in a Wednesday tweet that announced its plans to revise Madden NFL 22, which was first released in August. >EA Sports is committed to taking action in maintaining a culture of inclusion and equity," the developer said in its statement announcing Gruden's planned removal from the game. "We will replace him with a generic likeness via a title update in the coming weeks." >Mark Davis, the Raiders' principal owner, said Monday he had accepted Gruden's resignation. Davis declined to comment when pressed about Gruden's resignation on Wednesday and referred further questions to the NFL, ESPN reported. >Rich Bisaccia was named the team's interim head coach earlier this week and said that "no one person is bigger than the Raiders' shield" while briefly addressing Gruden's resignation at the beginning of a media briefing on Wednesday. >The Raiders have always stood for diversity, inclusion, social justice," Bisaccia told reporters. "It's important to live those ideals and carry them into the future. We cannot change the past, but we can do more to maybe make tomorrow better." >Gruden's emails were discovered during an investigation that had largely concentrated on Daniel Snyder, the owner of the Washington Football Team. In one email that Gruden sent in 2011 to Bruce Allen, the Washington Football Team's general manager and president, Gruden used racist language in comments about DeMaurice Smith, who serves as the NFL Players Association's executive director. <The content of that particular email was first reported last week by The Wall Street Journal. >A spokesperson for the NFL later condemned Gruden's use of language in a statement that called it "wholly contrary" to the league's values. >Gruden signed a 10-year contract when he became the Raiders' head coach in 2018, a deal that ESPN reported was believed to be worth about $100 million. He previously coached the team for about three years in the late 1990s and early 2000s. https://archive.ph/kFSGq Licensing Debates Between EA And FIFA Might Result >In A Name Change For The Storied Franchise Recent events came as a shock to many fans of EA’s classic football series FIFA, because they suggested it might not be called FIFA much longer, and we now have a deeper insight as to why thanks to a recent report which suggests the issue lies not just within the finances, but with the freedom EA has with the FIFA license. >A recent report from the New York Times discusses the issue, speaking to industry veterans like Peter Moore, who held a senior position at EA for years before he left, who noted that even the mention of negotiations is out of character, and likely a sign within itself. >The issue is essentially that FIFA is looking to get more than double what they currently receive from EA in their existing licensing deal, and that they want to limit the amount of freedom that EA has with the FIFA license. >Changing the name of the FIFA franchise would be a monumental moment in gaming’s history, though the report does point out that EA likely wouldn’t stand to lose much, since they’ll realistically still only be directed towards whatever EA changes to, and with the lack of competition, particularly due to eFootball’s poor launch, it doesn’t look like EA would really sweat the loss of the FIFA name. https://archive.ph/G9sAB

French media report exposes Indian fake news against Pakistan >Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday said a European TV channel has exposed fake news by Indian media regarding the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) launching an offensive in Panjshir, Afghanistan. >In a tweet, the minister shared a video report of the TV channel France 24, which stated that Indian media picked up an unverified video clip from Afghan media and reported it as the PAF striking fighters opposed to the Taliban after their takeover of the country. >India’s Republic TV and Zee Hindustan aired footage from the video game Arma-3 and claimed that the visuals showed the PAF attacking the anti-Taliban fighters. Fawad said Indian television channels Times Now, Naubharat, and Zee Hindustan also used the same video to spread propaganda against Pakistan. >The minister added that India’s propaganda and fake news against Pakistan were now being exposed by international media. >Some Indians also posted a picture of a crashed F-16 aircraft and claimed that it’s a PAF jet shot down in the Panjshir Valley by anti-Taliban forces. However, it turned out to be an old picture of a US airforce aircraft taken in 2018. https://archive.ph/7mtFz The poos still trying to use Arma 3 gameplay footage as propaganda against Pakistan. Swedish video game companies affected by the Chinese gaming ban >Some investors are woried that Some investors are woried that the Chinese video game restriction will inspire European countries to make similar restrictions In August China officially implemented a rule disallowing people under the age of 18 to play more than three hours of video games a week. >The Chinese decision of restricting the hours that the youth are allowed to use what they call “spiritual opium” is having an impact on Swedish video game companies and their stock value. >When restrictions are enforced and people start talking about it, all the video game companies take a hit,” stock analyst at Redeye, Tomas Otterbeck, says. >According to Tomas, it is especially the “free to play” games that China has been criticizing. The business model of these games – that the mobile game industry is based upon – is to make the games free to download and then get people hooked on playing them which will eventually lead them to start buying different things that can be utilized in the game. >Tomas explains that there is a fear among investors that the Chinese restrictions will inspire other countries to make their own set of restrictions. >There is a worry among investors, that these restrictions will spread all over Europe like a snowball effect,” Tomas says. >This worry is not shared by all investors, however. Eric Sprinchorn – who is the manager at the Tin Fonder company which invests in video game companies – does not have the same outlook on the times to come for the video game industry. >Digital entertainment will not away. It is a structurally growing phenomenon. And Swedish companies are overperforming so I think the Swedish video game companies will do just fine,” Eric Sprinchorn says. the Chinese video game restriction will inspire European countries to make similar restrictions https://archive.ph/pecEZ

https://archive.is/cAYJH >Yes, heritage doesn’t make something okay. It does mean, though, that when discussing something as commonplace as cockfighting, the conversation needs to be framed in a way that isn’t, well, racist. >That said, it clearly doesn’t work for everyone, and that’s okay. But when the conversation morphs into moral grandstanding on its inclusion or draws parity to how mostly white Americans view animals (while ignoring how those massive Tyson chicken breasts came to be) it becomes a value judgement not on cockfighting but on the people who are in on the joke. >As I stated in the beginning, cockfighting is animal cruelty, and for the most part, the people of color discussing and laughing about the minigame online outright admit this. However, that statement comes with a “but” attached. That “but” is because we grew up with people who did it, we grew up knowing about it, we grew up in cultures where it was just a part of life, and that cultural connection can’t be ironed out. While cockfighting isn’t “right” a minigame that turns it into a joke isn’t “wrong”—or at the very least doesn’t exist in an American cultural vacuum. >In truth, as the “discourse” shifts from “cockfighting bad” to “the people enjoying this minigame are bad,” it’s weird being brown in this space. I assure you the pixels on the screen are fine and the people making jokes and enjoying cockfighting Tekken are in on the joke and aren’t running their own operations in real life. For me, I was remembering the tio who snuck off to bet on a cockerel named Pequeño and how he tried to pretend he wasn’t. Others were just remembering living in places where it didn’t have to be secret. So talk about cockfighting, question its inclusion in this game, but do so knowing who you’re in conversation with, because once the game is out, it isn’t just with the devs, but the players too. Complaining about fictional cock fighting is stupid enough. But accusing those who are complaining about it, even though you also don't like it, are being racist? How many levels of woke are we on?

Whenever you're given a new powerup to progress to the next section of the game, the place where you use said powerup is not far away and should be visible on the map. The only time this doesn't happen that I can recall is when there is an engine that gets moved remotely and even then the game shows you a cut-scene of the room as it happens so you know to go back there. I'm not sure which boss you're talking about but if you tell me what powerup you got I can probably help.
>>86226 Yes. I spent a couple of hours overthinking it and had convinced myself that the secret had something to do with map icons, which in my defense looked similar to the corner pieces. The actual solution is to just to use a QR code reader and it gives you the hint which is something like jump 100 times in the center of the room and the floor breaks. Oh well.
>>86222 > these are probably the trickiest things to do in the game Seriously? A "charged dash" is the most difficult thing to do in the game?
>>86230 I got the tripleshot powerup anon fucking help me I want to be done with this shitty 5-6 hour game already.
>>86228 >how the fuck did someone figure that shit out in the first place? It's funny because my first assumption was that it looked like a QR code but then I dismissed it and spent the night running circles around that room looking for the secret entrance. I give the game points for being clever with that puzzle but then take those same points away for being obnoxious about it.
>>86222 Looks like standard post-Super metroid optional puzzles to me.
>>86233 There are multiple doors and moveable blocks that have an icon that looks like three little dots on them. Charge up your weapon and shoot those blocks/doors and they will move/open. >>86232 >A "charged dash" is the most difficult thing to do in the game? Yes, chaining shinesparks is the hardest thing to do in the game. The secret conversation sequence break in Fusion was much harder than anything in Dread.
>loli isn't pedo, fuck off to /b/ >now about those nieces cherish your fun memories of doing stuff with them, any moment they might decide to change pronouns and names and worse
>>86203 there's nothing more soulful than patting your niece's head, aside from maybe letting your nephew beat you in tekken 3
>>86236 >The secret conversation sequence break in Fusion was much harder than anything in Dread. I haven't played that, so I wouldn't know. I was looking it requiring as less difficulty than DIMPS' Sonic games. You know, the original titles that started to "Press boost to win" meme?
>>86208 Since you’ve seen her naked have you ever played or considered playing strip vidya with her?
>>86237 You think that just because I fantasize about fucking my niece while beating my meat every single day that means I'm sexually attracted to her? You've got a lot to learn pal.
>>86216 three doesn't even enter my mind, i treated myself last night with two no money left for tobacco though
>>86236 Thats obvious but I still couldn't find any way to move forward. Fuck it i'll just either stop bothering with the game or look up a walkthrough.

>>86238 Fuck. That. If the little shit wants to beat me at Tekken 3 then he's going to have to earn it. I'm not patronizing a 10 year old. He gets fed a steady diet of enough bullshit in his life already. Sooner or later he's going to have to learn how to deal with people that can leverage advantages against him anyhow. He's a white male, so the sooner he learns that - the better off he'll be. Used to be, parents would take their kids out to the lake and throw them off the pontoon, then tell them they'd see them on shore and start heading back. Obviously the father wouldn't let their kid just fucking drown, but you can't do that these days without an attempted murder or child abuse charge. So this is what you get. Sink or swim little man.
>>86222 They definitely didn't let DrMario64 upstage them when it comes to spark puzzles.
>>86220 before I started taking care of my niece I was estranged from most of my family (especially the female ones). my grandmother hated my father. when he died she wanted me exiled. nobody stood up for me (not even my mother) so I've been living the life of a Shinji/monk (but with way less emotional/psychiatric problems). >>86223 >G Gundam and 8th MS Team. >>86250 It's the 13th.

>>86071 Haven't played the game myself but unless every room shows you rooms that are adjacent to them when you get near their edge the fact that the minimap tells you there's another room on top but you can actually see it in the playing field would tell me 100% that there's a hidden way there and unless this game changed the fact that you open things by shooting them then shooting the walls would seem immediately obvious to me. Someone should introduce La-Mulana to that tard, I don't even think he'd make it out of the gate of guidance.

>>86269 The lack of facing adversity is more than just a game thing, it's a generational divide. Younger kids and teens refuse to face challenges because they weren't taught how to and there's no point to it in their eyes. It's a shame watching others and preferring ease over difficulty has become the norm even when it comes to videogames because gods be damned if they aren't the best at teaching how hard work pays off. Shit at an FPS? Practice and learn the mechanics and map. Shit at an RPG? Try out different builds and start from scratch with a better understanding than when you started. Shit at strategy? Try your hardest even in the face of failure, then go back and try again. Casualization is a cancer. >>86262 It's only been 4 years but it feels like a lifetime. >>86255 What really bothers me is this retard expects a game to completely explain everything to a player instead of discover a few things, and then turn around and go WOW WHAT SHITTY DESIGN MAYBE YOUR SACRED COWS AREN'T THAT GOOD AFTER ALL. My brother for a while had requested I get him the witcher games so I did, I outright told him the combat isn't really my favorite and in 1 the entire cornerstone of the combat is setting up oils and potions and there's a bit of trial and error to it especially near the end when you aren't really aware who or what you'll be fighting. He comes to me after a week telling me Witcher 1 is shit and explains nothing, and how anyone's supposed to beat The Beast. I asked him if he used the specter oil that everyone since minute 1 in chapter 1 tells you you'll be needing and using, and he tells me know, and how he was supposed to know that, and and and I get people just want mindless entertainment because maybe they're too tired after work to give much thought to anything, but to me this always meant I always never wanted to for example fuck around in the base building/setup phases of something like X-COM instead of "I want my brain completely shut off and I want the game playing itself with me as a spectator". Like shit Dread looks pretty bad to me but all of these idiots bitching about it makes me think maybe it can't be that bad.

>>86292 Tolkien tried to warn us. The ultimate evil, Melkor, was driven to destroy what everyone else had made because he was jealous of what he couldn't create. >Thus, as ‘Morgoth’, when Melkor was confronted by the existence of other inhabitants of Arda, with other wills and intelligences, he was enraged by the mere fact of their existence, and his only notion of dealing with them was by physical force, or the fear of it. His sole ultimate object was their destruction. Elves, and still more Men, he despised because of their ‘weakness’: that is their lack of physical force, or power over ‘matter’; but he was also afraid of them. He was aware, at any rate originally when still capable of rational thought, that he could not ‘annihilate’** them: that is, destroy their being; but their physical ‘life’, and incarnate form became increasingly to his mind the only thing that was worth considering.† Or he became so far advanced in Lying that he lied even to himself, and pretended that he could destroy them and rid Arda of them altogether. Hence his endeavor always to break wills and subordinate them to or absorb them into his own will and being, before destroying their bodies. This was sheer nihilism, and negation its one ultimate object: Morgoth would no doubt, if he had been victorious, have ultimately destroyed even his own ‘creatures’, such as the Orcs, when they had served his sole purpose in using them: the destruction of Elves and Men. Melkor’s final impotence and despair lay in this: that whereas the Valar (and in their degree Elves and Men) could still love ‘Arda Marred’, that is Arda with a Melkor-ingredient, and could still heal this or that hurt, or produce from its very marring, from its state as it was, things beautiful and lovely, Melkor could do nothing with Arda, which was not from his own mind and was interwoven with the work and thoughts of others: even left alone he could only have gone raging on till all was leveled again into a formless chaos. And yet even so he would have been defeated, because it would still have ‘existed’, independent of his own mind, and a world in potential. They hate the great and the beautiful because they can't create anything great or beautiful. So they have to corrupt and destroy what they can't outright control.
>>86302 I think looking at it that way, that's the only way you can really "leave your mark" on the legacy you've been given. Because if you're some hack who just got dumped into the shoes of an established legacy, and you know the best you could probably amount to is falling short of what the original is, the only way to actually leave a mark is using the fact that the company you now work for owns the IP and that gives you carte blanche to do whatever, so let's do whatever. Doesn't matter if it makes sense or actually adds or removes to the legacy, just that it generated buzz. I'm far from a star wars fan, my involvement with the franchise starts and ends at the gendy animated show, Battlefront 2, Empire at War and Dark Forces 2. But really what have the new movies added to the legacy besides killing off original characters for shock value? It's that kind of mindset I can see in a lot of these remakes and reboots and whathaveyous. I know shit all about doctor who but all I know of the recent one is that people hated the fuck out of it and it made big legacy changes to the backstory of the character, basically hamfisting an OC into a lore or something similar. Likewise with Star Trek.

>>86310 This idea that since Aliens, Terminator 2 and Predator 2 every single movie attached to any of those franchises decides to act as if everything post those movies do not exist and that this is a new new new sequel, and those other bad ones don't exist and should not be mentioned or brought up. Really hilarious seeing something like Terminator Genysis fuck around with the timelines and have a scene where someone says "You're a relic from a deleted timeline" and then the movie bombs and sucks so hard the next one decides that nothing after T2 existed. And then that one also bombed and sucked so hard(and to bring up the shock value argument, kills off Jhon Conner and Skynet in favor of mexican girl who can't act and literally Skynet with a different name, that's them "making their mark") I guarentee you if there's a next one it'll also pretend like nothing beyond T2 existed and start off its own continuity, and so on. I was wrong to put Aliens there because for some reason Prometheus was actually followed up on. >>86164 Some extra information I found out about recently might explain the videogame/ect. time limit or ban. In China there is apparently a movement called 'lying flat', what it means is to work just enough to live instead of the 996 (9am to 9pm 6 days a week). This is primarily affecting the young demographic currently (around out of highschool/collage age). The main thing they do is play videogames all day and have takeout and only work to get money to fund that lifestyle, which is generally about 1 day of work for 2-3 days of play. Now the time limit on playing videogames and crackdown of other avenues will only have the opposite effect since now their money will last longer than 2-3 days due to less spending. Also China has apparently been having weirdness out the ass for the past few months. Snow in the middle of Summer, chinese view this as a sign of a great injustice from the heavens of the ruling party doing something (chinese media didn't report on it). Power problems out the ass that will only get worse because of winter and dumbass chink moves. Semi-freak weather with on average chicken egg sized hail which happened in various locations (2 so far) and one going on for about 30 minutes. A freak tornado (chinese in area said once in a hundred years). A tunnel collapse. A leaking nuclear power plant, so odds are the others are leaking as well.

I can most definitely see the appeal of this, to be honest. As much as I find myself pushing not to be complacent and learn as much as I can from my work for the future there's always this part of me that kind of wants to do the bare minimum just to get paid and keep myself content doing whatever hobby. I think the issue here is one of overcorrection, this idea that people find themselves unfulfilled with anything but a hobby so instead of actually providing something that they could find fulfilling, they decide "okay let's push to remove what they find fun in their free time and that will totally make them spend that free time doing what we deem productive and constructive instead of just finding something else to occupy their time because the root issue was not addressed". >A leaking nuclear power plant Which one is this? >>86324 >inb4 jewtube Saw it in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzeuDZ6qnZA around the 14-15 minute mark. Since it involves corruption of a high ranking official, poor construction due to corruption, and massive cover up then odds are quite good other chinese nuclear power plants are leaking. >>86325 from what I could gather, the 996 only applies if you have a permanent job. Hence the people are only temporary/transitory workers. The job market over in china apparently has gotten bad enough that the Bosses of the company (looks like heavy industry/textiles) are in the streets with booths to try to recruit workers, they can't find any permanent workers and barely any temporary. This is due to the jobs being low paying since the returns on the industry is low so no one wants to work them. Chinese governments brilliant plan is to increase the workforce for said jobs thus decreasing the wage for said jobs, and how is this going to work?
>>86308 There's a new Ghostbusters movie coming out next month btw. I'm sick and tired of hollywood's obsession with overusing CGI.

>>86273 >But she sounds equally a little out of sorts. she had a very rough start in life, her father almost beat her to death (for crying and just being a baby). she was badly staved and malnourished because the quack doctors didn't realize she was born with ankyloglossia (tongue tied). her mother refused to breastfeed her and instead gave her formula, however she was allergic to the formula causing her extreme, itching and very painful constipation. this made her scream and cry almost constantly, I was tipped-off by a family friend and then asked to intervene. I brought in my own (non-quack) doctor after that she got way better. instead of anyone thanking me (or my doctor) I was accused of "destroying my sister's marriage". my doctor investigated the bruising/other marks on my niece. Father (who now lives in Canada with a new girlfriend) made a deal to pay massive support fees (with money from his wealthy parents) but only if he gave up his rights and agreed to treatment. Fast forwarded to me packing up my hotel room to take the train back home and my (drunk) sister barges in screaming at me for “ruining her life” and admits she only gave birth to my niece to keep that shitty guy in her life (a bit like how my mother marred my own father for money). And the kicker, that I didn't deserve to breathe the same air as her... because I was just a lowly useless “half brother” and barely even counted as a family member. Told her I hope she and hubby find each other again (while rotting in hell). Peace out, take my train home. 48 hours later I’m back on my turf, pretended the last few months were just a bad dream. Back before the internet made all of their many fuckups front page news on an almost daily basis, they still had that air of being almost supernaturally on top of shit. That and I think it's funny to imagine a bunch of CIA ops with very serious expressions standing around in a warehouse trying to train a fucking sawn into being a sleeper agent. It's not like they aren't pulling absurd "out of the box" shit like that all the time. But, I guess that would require them not being in Beijing's pocket.
>>86343 >I think it's funny to imagine a bunch of CIA ops with very serious expressions standing around in a warehouse trying to train a fucking sawn into being a sleeper agent See it's shit like this that would make for great comedy movies but if it would be written by the current year there would be a fuckton of quipping and self aware "pause for laughter" moments and the actors going WOAAH ISN'T THIS A KOOKY WEIRD SITUATION WE'RE IN, YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD MAKE IT FUNNY IF WE VERY SLOWLY AND IN GREAT DETAIL SPELL OUT EVERY SINGLE WEIRD AND ODD ASPECT OF THIS SITUATION WE'VE FOUND OURSELVES IN

I vaguely recall it had another trailer but I don't remember the trailer itself at all.
>>86345 >don't movies that are "too real" for the audience usually bomb? I don't want something that's too real, I want something like Police Squad or Hot Fuzz where the characters in those movies somewhat take the situations they're placed in seriously and aren't so self assured that what's happening is so funny that they have to break the fourth wall or improv and break the pacing of scenes just drop a turd of a self aware joke.
>>86346 it wasn't great. didn't even look like it had anything to do with ghostbusters till the very end tittle came up. even the new kids look like understudies for stranger shit "punch a nazi" un-creative "hey remember that spooky 80's thing you liked?" trash. >>86350 You know it's like the matrix, sure agent smith in the first movie was a really credible threat but in the sequels Neo fights like a billion agent smiths so it's better because there's more of him. That's how it works, right?
>>86349 Might be, the game basically stated once you pick a destructor form you are stuck with it, so every time Gozer decides to pop out, it can ONLY be Stay Puft.
>>86347 Self-Awareness is fine for parody, but it ruins absurdity. There's a reason why so many great comedy duos are a pairing of a straight-man and a goofball. You need to establish a tone and rules for the world or setup they're creating, and the comedy comes from the goofball or absurd situation breaking it - often without their knowledge, or to their dismay, and having to keep rolling with it. Maybe I'm not explaining that clearly, but you need to grow a child into a proper gentleman before you can kick him in the balls and throw a pie in his face. There needs to be setup for a payoff, and most movies these days are just strings of one-liners and situational "comedy" that's not meaningful in order to string together the CGI events that foreign audiences who don't understand english will enjoy. Leslie Nielsen was one of those rare examples of a guy who could play both the goofball and the straight man simultaneously and pull it off.

>>86353 I think I'm not explaining myself well and I'm sorry for that. Compare these two webms, in the Naked Gun one it feels like an absurd take on a situation that's still taken somewhat seriously by the characters, that makes it funny. ‘Ghost Recon Frontline’: Ubisoft postpones battle royale’s closed test just a week after its announcement >Ubisoft announced a new “Ghost Recon” game last week, but it was not what fans have been requesting for years. Following a wave of negative feedback on the new battle royale project, the company has now postponed its closed beta test for an indefinite period. >The announcement was posted through the official “Ghost Recon Frontline” Twitter page on Wednesday, telling fans that Ubisoft decided to Closed Test. The developer did not provide a new schedule, suggesting that the postponement might last indefinitely. >Ubisoft did not give a specific reason for the postponement. The company only said, “The development team is dedicated to creating the best experience possible.” >But it would not be surprising if the decision was made after fans met the battle royale game’s announcement with negative feedback. Many fans have been saying that “Ghost Recon Frontline” is not the kind of “Ghost Recon” game they were asking from Ubisoft. >Unlike the announcement of “Ghost Recon Frontline,” the statement about the Closed Test’s postponement was met with relief and further suggestions that Ubisoft should just cancel the battle royale project and deliver something like the older “Ghost Recon” titles. >The situation also made it apparent that the players are still hoping to see a new title that has similar elements to “Ghost Recon: Wildlands.” >Aside from the negative comments on various online platforms, the underwhelming welcome to “Ghost Recon Frontline” can also be seen in the likes and dislikes of its trailers on YouTube. The eight-minute full announcement video has garnered 19,000 dislikes and only 5,000 likes after a week. >The game’s reveal trailer on Ubisoft North America’s channel has more than 17,000 dislikes and over 4,000 likes only. >Based on how the latest statement was worded, though, it does not look like Ubisoft is scrapping the development of “Ghost Recon Frontline” altogether. The company added that it will share more information, including a new date for the start of the Closed Test, in the future. The game’s official page on the Ubisoft website remains active as well. “Ghost Recon Frontline” is designed as a free-to-play tactical-action game with massive PvP shooter elements set in the “Ghost Recon” universe. <Ubisoft also said it will feature an “advanced class system and large set of tactical support tools.” https://archive.ph/SEeQW Yu-Gi-Oh Launches New Campaign Geared Towards Gen-Z >Yu-Gi-Oh has been around for decades at this point, and the franchise is still as popular as ever. From its trading cards to its latest anime, Yu-Gi-Oh has lots backing it up even after all these years. >Still, the franchise remains a nostalgic sweet spot for fans, and Konami wants to bring new lifeblood into the community. So as it turns out, Yu-Gi-Oh is launching a promo campaign with Gen-Z in mind. >Not long ago, Konami confirmed this sort of campaign is in the works. The team says it is partnering with new industries to market itself to Gen-Z, and this focused campaign marks the anime's first pitch to the up-and-coming generation. >Today's youth are edgy, expressive, and bold in their fashion statements. These new collaborations will entertain our fans while providing a creative and authentic way to express themselves and their affection for the Yu-Gi-Oh brand," Jennifer Coleman, Vice President, Licensing and Marketing at Konami Cross Media, shared with fans in a new statement. >As Yu-Gi-Oh prepares to celebrate its 25th Anniversary, we believe that the franchise needs to cover a broader swath in the market and these new deals will allow a generation of young adult fans to interact with the brand in ways that have never before been possible." >With Gen-Z in mind, Yu-Gi-Oh is partnering with tons of brands to make its new collections pop. Hypland, Madrid Skatebboards, PSD Underwear, and Tuned in Tokyo are just some of the licensing deals on the horizon. Everything from clothes to decor and accessories will be pushed to Gen-Z in the next year. <So if you see new faces pop up in the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom, don't be too surprised! https://archive.ph/OeLXG

>>86313 >This idea that since Aliens, Terminator 2 and Predator 2 every single movie attached to any of those franchises decides to act as if everything post those movies do not exist and that this is a new new new sequel, and those other bad ones don't exist and should not be mentioned or brought up. You do realize that, in the case of Terminator, that's only happening because the third and fourth film are about the actual war rather allowing for time-travel shenanigans in the present day, right? There's nothing particularly wrong with them. It's just people were surprised that an actual post-apocalyptic war against machines was rather dry of a subject to depict, so to give the people "what they what" they have to refer to the first two films because the story "ended" with the third.

Everyone knows about the spying, that it isn't user controlled, etc. But more broadly, these chat programs such as Discord, Ventrilo, Teamspeak, IRC and all the others inevitably lead to cliques, ingroup bullshit, namefagging, drama and other cancers of internet communities. It's probably best if many of those people don't come back.

Netflix Wants To Make A ‘Squid Game’ Video Game <Netflix’s new most popular show in its history is Squid Game, a series where contestants play children’s games until only one of them is left alive. >Netflix has previously announced they want to get into the video game industry and publish games within their app based on their original series. >In a new, rather fantastic interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix’s Minyoung Kim, VP of Content for Asia Pacific, has confirmed that yes, Netflix’s new interest in gaming has branched into an interest into turning Squid Game into a video game: >We’ve been getting an overwhelming but happy volume of requests from the organization — from the consumer product department, from the gaming group, from our other international teams. >My team’s role is to really look at all of those opportunities together, to create that roadmap for the Squid Game IP. >We are looking at multiple different areas — from games, consumer product, and others — to really figure out what we can bring to our audiences to increase their affinity towards our content and give them more joy, while staying true to the world that our creator has built.” >When Squid Game originally debuted, I watched it on maybe day 2 of its release, before it was a “thing” and compared it to an adult version of Fall Guys, the recently popular video game where colorful characters play rounds of different games that eliminate them until only one is left standing. >It’s a spin on a longstanding craze in gaming, the “battle royale” genre which was originally inspired by the classic Japanese film, Battle Royale, where schoolchildren are forced to fight to the death on an island. It’s something that was also inspiration for Squid Game itself, so we have come full circle. >While it’s easy to imagine how Squid Game could work as an actual video game, we…don’t actually have to imagine. Games that allow custom-designed matches like Roblox and Fortnite have dozens of fan-created attempts at remaking Squid Game in those worlds. Netflix’s version of a Squid Game video game would be licensed, obviously, and yet Netflix’s gaming ambitions are so new, it’s hard to tell when this would actually be a released product, and what form it would take. >Netflix’s initial foray into gaming here has heavy implications that it would be more along the lines of mobile game scope and quality, rather than PC or console type games, so they could be played within the Netflix mobile app. This aligns with past games we’ve already seen from them like Stranger Things, a throwback classic. >So no, when Netflix does make a Squid Game video game, I would not expect to see HoYeon Jung doing performance capture for a AAA blockbuster release or anything. >Think small scale, think mobile-friendly. This is kind of the perfect blend between Netflix’s new ambitions for gaming and one of its most successful IPs, and would be an ultimate test of the concept of the service making moves in that space. >But for now, this remains a goal, not an imminently released title, and maybe we’ll be talking more about this when Squid Game season 2 hits, as for now, it seems very, very far off if we’re still in the early planning stages for something like this. >Hopefully they can do it justice, and make something half as good as what Roblox and Fortnite have already produced within weeks. https://archive.ph/iAFCk FIFA wants to charge EA Sports $1 billion to use video game name >The reason EA is planning to change the name of the FIFA games has been revealed: FIFA want to charge them twice as much to use their name. >Considering FIFA 22 has proven an even faster seller than last year’s game, it was a bit of a shock to hear that EA is thinking of changing the name in the future. >They’ve already registered the name EA Sports FC but so far they’ve not revealed why they would want to do such a thing – although it was always pretty obvious that either they or FIFA were asking for more money. >It turns out that it’s the former, with a report in The New York Times revealing that FIFA want more than double the amount of money EA usually pays to use their name and licences, while also limiting how much they can use it outside of video games. >FIFA wants more than $1 billion for the right to use its name for four years, covering a single World Cup cycle – which is more than twice what EA currently pays them. Not only that but FIFA wants to limit the licence solely to traditional video games, whereas EA wants it to include game highlights, video game tournaments, and NFTs. >FIFA also wants to be able to sell its name and licences to other video games that aren’t sports titles, with The New York Times mentioning Fortnite – although it’s not clear whether that’s just a theoretical example or something that FIFA is already looking into. >Given these demands EA’s contingency plans for a new name make perfect sense, especially as most of the licences for clubs, players, and stadia come from elsewhere, such as player’s union FIFPro – which it signed a new deal with this week, to continue to use real player’s faces in future games. >The only thing EA would really lose, other than the name FIFA, is the World Cup, which is all part of the same FIFA licence and couldn’t be included in a new game, whatever it was called, without working out a new deal. >The arrangement with EA is apparently FIFA’s most lucrative commercial agreement, so if everything falls through the organisation could be in real financial trouble. Gamers probably don’t care what the game’s called but with the current licensing deal due to end after next year’s World Cup in Qatar it may be that FIFA 23 never happens. https://archive.ph/AlGhd

Trans employees and allies at Netflix are planning a walkout in protest of co-CEO Ted Sarandos' comments regarding Dave Chappelle's new special, "The Closer," >As reported by The Verge, a leader of the streamer's trans employee resource group wrote the following in a message to members: "Trans Lives Matter. Trans Rights Matter. And as an organization, Netflix has continually failed to show deep care in our mission to Entertain the World by repeatedly releasing content that harms the Trans community and continually failing to create content that represents and uplifts Trans content. We can and must do better!" >Netflix's Most Twitter account dedicated to LGBTQ content posted Wednesday, "We can't always control what goes on screen. What we can control is what we create here, and the POV we bring to internal conversations." On Monday, Variety reported that Sarandos had defended Chappelle's special, which has been accused of containing transphobic and homophobic content, in a memo to staff. >"Chappelle is one of the most popular stand-up comedians today, and we have a long standing deal with him. His last special 'Sticks & Stones,' also controversial, is our most watched, stickiest and most award winning stand-up special to date," Sarandos wrote. " >As with our other talent, we work hard to support their creative freedom — even though this means there will always be content on Netflix some people believe is harmful." >Dave Chappelle's specials are consistently the most-watched comedy specials on Netflix, and have earned many awards, including both an Emmy and a Grammy for 'Sticks & Stones,'" a Netflix spokesperson said. <We support artistic expression for our creators. We also encourage our employees to disagree openly." >Shortly after Sarandos' memo, three employees were suspended for crashing an executive meeting, including Terra Field, who identifies as trans and queer and had criticized Chappelle's special on Twitter. >According to Netflix, Field was not suspended due to her tweets, but for attending the meeting uninvited. On Tuesday, it was announced that the employees had been reinstated after finding that they did not join the meeting with any ill intent. https://archive.ph/wfY5S Is Big Tech Responsible for Potential Hollywood Strike? >While big tech companies invest in their streaming content, Hollywood also faces a possible strike from its casts and crews that could crash the entire system. >The issue could even grind Hollywood production to a halt, as streaming’s rise and the pandemic flare tensions across the industry. What happens next hinges on how a crucial labor battle plays out in the coming days and weeks between behind-the-scenes workers and some of the most powerful corporations on the planet. >The union behind the workers who operate cameras, dress actors, build sets and clean toilets — the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) — will vote over the weekend on whether to authorize a strike amid protracted contract negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). Some of the biggest names in tech, including Apple, Netflix and Amazon (which bought MGM), have a seat at the table alongside AMPTP’s major studios. That means their lawyers sit opposite of IATSE union members in negotiations over pay and working conditions. IATSE President Matt Loeb also drew attention to the long work hours that often push 14 hours. >We are united in demanding more humane working conditions across the industry, including reasonable rest during and between workdays and on the weekend, equitable pay on streaming productions, and a livable wage floor,” Loeb said. >Part of the IATSE’s desired amendments includes increased pay for streaming projects, which are not required to pay “full price” like traditional theatrical and television projects. <Reportedly, it was within Apple’s legal rights to trim the paychecks of behind-the-scenes workers. >AMPTP says that they do not want to be forced to pay our pension plan fair residuals on streaming because it is an ‘experiment’ (their words). An unproven revenue stream. Which, lmao, maybe they didn’t watch the Emmys,” Ian Edwards, a digital imaging technician in IATSE Local 600, told dot.LA about the Emmys overwhelming focus on streaming content. >A 2nd assistant camera operator named Andy Kennedy-Derkay noted that streaming series often require more expertise and longer hours to shoot than traditional TV series. “>The Mandalorian’ as an experimental streaming property, can be much harder than working on ‘Two and a Half Men’ on stage, which pays proper residuals,” Kennedy-Derkay said. “It’s just ludicrous to think of things this way – as if we are shooting a web series, when we are making the most expensive television shows ever produced.” >Todd Holmes points out that the top streaming content—for example, Netflix Originals—offers little opportunity for any secondary market payout. >One of the issues with streaming is there really isn’t that natural second market there,” Todd Holmes, assistant professor of entertainment media management at California State University, Northridge, told dot.LA. >So in terms of residuals, there’s really not a structure set in place right now for people that are members of IATSE to get any kind of money, because a lot of these things are Netflix originals. That’s a problem. >The data is there. Netflix and everything, they keep their information very much under lock and key, but they have access to that information,” he added. “They know, certainly, the number of streams and they have a lot of consumer data, so there are ways to determine the residuals. <It’s just so far the AMPTP, they haven’t wanted to include that in part of the equation.” <AMPTP noted that a strike would result in many jobless IATSE members. >A strike will have a devastating impact on the industry and inevitably will result in thousands of IATSE members losing their income, failing to qualify for health insurance benefits, jeopardizing funding for the pension plan and disrupting production,” AMPTP told Deadline. <Despite AMPTP’s warnings, Kennedy-Derkay said that the strike would motivate change. >Do I think it’ll work? Yeah I think it’ll work. And I think that in all likelihood when push comes to shove, if they decide to allow us to strike, they are going to get a wake-up call of what a powerful union can do and I think it will blow up in their face,” Kennedy-Derkay said. >We’re used to going through hard times,” he added. “Crew members go through hard times every time they accept a job. The people who work for 70 hours a week for eight months, who don’t see their families, whose health and mental well being crumbles — they make incredible films and television and they show up every single day and give their 100% to craft the vision of the people they’re collaborating with. >We know how to grind. We would much rather grind at a stage than at a picket line. But I have tremendous confidence that we will stand strong.” >We aren’t asking for the world. We want fair wages and a safe and healthy working environment,” Salvador Perez, president of the Costume Designers Guild, told Variety. “The studios need us… We should be treated as a valuable asset — a partner, not a cog in the system.” https://archive.ph/Bz0tS

YOU STINKY ASS NIGGERS!!
>>86435 Meat keeps people healthy and strong, the fat and protien is essential for development of the brain and muscle growth, deprevation of these nturients keeps people feeble, sick, obedient, it's why the chinese armies were fed gruel (no different than oatmeal), while they considered the mongolians monsters because they could travel for days without making a campfire to cook food, the mongolians ate nothing but meat and dairy. Ever see the garbage schools provide to kids under the guise of "food"? Grain, grain, and more grain, with added sugar. A tiny carton of chocolate milk contains 11g added sugar. Everything is fat free, and whatever protien they get is either plant based or made from "chicken byproduct" like dogfood. It's why there's such a growing problem with kids having no attention span, they can't focus or retain information, as well as drastic increases in insulin resistance leaving them unable to even process what they eat into useable energy.
>>441920 Depends on how well you marinate them. Kangaroo meat is very, very easy to fuck up cooking but if you know what you are doing it can be really nice. I don't eat it all the time but they are easier to shoot so if I really need meat they do until I can restock up on venison.
>>86439 >It's why there's such a growing problem with kids having no attention span, they can't focus or retain information, as well as drastic increases in insulin resistance leaving them unable to even process what they eat into useable energy. It may well be a factor, but I would also just blame the way schools work, how they increasingly stamp out physical activity while also increasingly becoming more feminized, both in their material and formatting, and in teachers being feminists who openly hate boys and masculinity, and punish boys for acting in any way masculine (aka, not feminist soyboys that sit there and read Little Women and act like they like it), even if they aren't and the teachers just falsely perceive it.
>>86355 Man leslie nielsen was a really funny guy.
>>86439 >It's why there's such a growing problem That's been a problem for decades. Remember the food pyramid back in the 90's-early 2000's with all the grain at the bottom (meaning eat more grain) that was later revised when people started conversing on the internet? I had absolutely no energy in school because it was all bread, cereal, milk and chicken based shitmeat that was severely processed and tasted nothing like regular milk you'd get at the store. Whenever they served pizza, it was just flatbread, cheese, sauce. Someone needs to die, they're creating monsters. I think this diet was chiefly responsible for most mentally ill children and obesity. Like all of the fucking school shootings couldve been happening because the food was effecting people's mental states as well as the prison-system american schools run on.

>>86469 There isn't really such a thing as an ethical meat and diary supply chain since the less ethical you treat animals the more you decrease cost and increase production. Maybe you could find some local butcher and farmer that you assume to be more fair to their animals, but 99% of people won't be able to find such an arrangement. 99% of people are capable of compartmentalizing the horrific things that happen to the animals they consume though so it doesn't really matter.

They were the dumbest animals I have ever encountered, couldn't let them wander around the fenced in yard because they'd injure themselves somehow (one killed itself somehow) and they wouldn't return to the coop if they even left the coop at all. Ended up having to keep them in the coop all the time not that it made any difference and yet despite not being crowded, 2 of them still somehow managed to break a leg. They had roosting space that they never used. They were also raised from chick age.
>>86484 Raised from chick age by humans or by chickens?
>>86482 I'm sure plenty of people are gonna disagree with me but that's shit design. Having to shoot at literally everything in the entire game because you decided to make some unmarked "secrets" isn't better, it's trash to sell Nintendo Power magazines and waste everyone's time. There's ways to produce difficulty and subtlety without making everything invisible or putting literal Zelda-esque "bomb here" cracks in the wall or Donkey Kong Country bananas in the shape of arrows pointing offscreen. Context can have implications. If there's two paths and one of them is easy and one of them is narrow and weird and bullshit and out of the way and you're on a timer, it's implied that the narrow one has a reward at the end or a shortcut, because something that's more difficult is more rewarding in a well designed game. A good game designer shouldn't accept 80s design just because it's "nostalgic."
>>86486 So why isn't an out of reach location a context clue that there's a hidden wall in that room? I had no issues with stuff like Crash 2's secret warps so I'm probably in the minority here but I love it when secrets are designed like this.
>>86487 It's technically a context clue but having bananas point to it isn't a very subtle indicator, it's a bit of a hamfisted gimmick, like a designer putting a sticky note on a screen instead of implying it somehow which my multiple paths example does. It tells you the answer more or less rather than making you curious about what would happen if you behaved differently.

Oh, I missed a word as I was reading your post so I didn't really answer your statement directly. An out of reach location (in Metroid/the context of this vid) is definitely a context clue and kinda applies a little to what I was saying, but it also potentially implies that you can get there from another room or something. I guess that's fine, but it sends out multiple possible signals unless it's applied consistently and the player is taught to interpret it that way. I haven't played Metroid Dread by the way, so I don't actually know anything about it outside of skimming those videos. It was more of a general statement about this type of design.

Regarding physical traits, I like how lolis/shotas appear to have a smoother skin and a tender body than adults, almost like very soft pillows you can fuck. >>86597 Sexual identity is a jewish myth.
>>86597 No you aren't listening. I'm talking about a beautiful big breasted chick. With delicious balls. Whats gay about that?
>>86581 Depends on the partner. On a similar note, sex with a trap, shemale or ladyboy is either 0% or 100% gay, depending on the gender of their partner, since they are 100% male with mere superficial changes that make them look girly.

>>86575 >Trying to explain it is retarded and futile. The point of asking someone about their fetish isn't to try to understand them, it's to watch them squirm and uncomfortably try to find rational justification for their sickness. They almost always take the bait, because most people who have fetishes don't even understand them - and only get by by coping with the dissonance by compartmentalizing it. You're breaking that by holding the mirror up to them. This leads to either closeting themselves and denying they have the fetish while secretly indulging, or pulling gold-medal winning tier mental gymnastics to try to normalize or rationalize it.

Netflix Boss Doubles Down On Dave Chappelle's Transphobia In Embarrassing Email >Dave Chappelle’s latest comedy special, The Closer, contains some very sad, very harmful anti-trans comments. Faced with widespread criticism over his company’s decision to bankroll and air the special, Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos has decided to email the entire company twice, and in doing so made things worse. >When the show was first released on Netflix, a prominent trans employee and two colleagues were suspended by the company for speaking out against Chappelle publicly, then crashing a senior meeting (and after public backlash were reinstated only a day later). >On Friday Sarandos sent out a memo defending Chappelle, saying, “Chappelle is one of the most popular stand-up comedians today, and we have a long standing deal with him. His last special ‘Sticks & Stones,’ also controversial, is our most watched, stickiest and most award winning stand-up special to date.” >Employees are now planning a “virtual walkout” in protest, and in response to continued tensions, Sarandos has decided to double down and issue another memo. First obtained by Variety, it reads (emphasis mine): We know that a number of you have been left angry, disappointed and hurt by our decision to put Dave Chappelle’s latest special on Netflix. >Also, we have many new colleagues who want to better understand the principles that guide our team’s content choices, especially with challenging titles like this. >Our goal is to entertain the world, which means programming for a diversity of tastes. This member-centric view has driven our growth over the last 20 years, despite all the competition, and remains Netflix’s north star today. >We also support artistic freedom to help attract the best creators, and push back on government and other censorship requests. Our Entertain the World and Strategy Bets memos, which we’ve debated extensively, are clear about both principles – including the trade offs, i.e. that we’ll always have titles some members and employees dislike or believe are harmful. >With The Closer, we understand that the concern is not about offensive-to-some content but titles which could increase real world harm (such as further marginalizing already marginalized groups, hate, violence etc.) Last year, we heard similar concerns about 365 Days and violence against women. While some employees disagree, we have a strong belief that content on screen doesn’t directly translate to real-world harm. >The strongest evidence to support this is that violence on screens has grown hugely over the last thirty years, especially with first party shooter games, and yet violent crime has fallen significantly in many countries. Adults can watch violence, assault and abuse – or enjoy shocking stand-up comedy – without it causing them to harm others. We are working hard to ensure marginalized communities aren’t defined by a single story. >So we have Sex Education, Orange is the New Black, Control Z, Hannah Gadsby and Dave Chappelle all on Netflix. Key to this is increasing diversity on the content team itself. >In his special, Chappelle makes harsh jokes about many different groups, which is his style and a reason his fans love his comedy and commentary. Stand-up comedians often expose issues that are uncomfortable because the art by nature is a highly provocative. As a leadership team, we do not believe that The Closer is intended to incite hatred or violence against anyone (per our Sensitive Content guidelines). >We’ve had these operating principles around pleasing our members and artistic expression for many years, and the team’s decision to put The Closer on our service was consistent with them. The variety and quality of our content is what members value most. Our hope is that you can be hugely inspired by entertaining the world, while also living with titles you strongly believe have no place on Netflix. >This will not be the last title that causes some of you to wonder if you can still love Netflix. I sincerely hope that you can. >What the absolute fuck. One of the world’s most popular comedians standing on stage and saying proudly that he’s “team TERF” (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) is doing an incredible amount of harm. It is doing literally nothing else but de-legitimising and directly attacking an entire group of marginalised human beings. >To try to shrug that off by using anecdotal, unscientific and unrelated points about video games, or to only use actual physical attacks as his chief metric for “harm,” is a staggering thing to read. >What the absolute fuck. One of the world’s most popular comedians standing on stage and saying proudly that he’s “team TERF” (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) is doing an incredible amount of harm. Ugh, Nazi-Themed Host Bar Opens In Osaka >At host clubs, men serve customers their drinks, light their cigarettes, and make small talk with them. At a newly opened one in Osaka, they also dress as Nazis. That’s pretty fucked up. >The name of the bar is Unfair, and its tagline is, “Life is a bet.” Reddit spotted a truck driving through Osaka emblazoned with the club’s name and...a swastika, and I’m guessing it was driving through the Minami entertainment district where Unfair is located. >Unfair’s listing was posted on host sites Star Guys and Host x Host, and included photos of the hosts in full Nazi outfits and a video. One listing read, “Get intoxicated with this new style host club!” >As Twitter user Miki Dezaki points out, the club also uploaded photos of inside the building. The walls were covered with a large swastika, and the club even had swastika labels affixed to the bottles of champagne. Understandably, people pointed out, hey, this is stupid and disgraceful. Information about the club has been scrubbed from host sites, with the Host x Host page even now requiring a password for access. Kotaku phoned the bar, but there was no answer. >Every few years, shit like this happens. Back in 2016, for example, members of the pop group Keyakizaka46 dressed in Nazi-style uniforms for Halloween. Six years before that, the cosmetics brand Ponds featured an actress dressed as a Nazi in a major ad campaign throughout Japan. The ad was later pulled. It was surprising to see even a major international brand in Japan can let stuff like this slip through. >Besides ignorance, ambivalence to Nazi iconography could also be due to the counterclockwise swastika, or manji as it’s called in Japanese. It is traditionally used in Japan on maps to denote Buddhist temples, and has a deep, long history that has absolutely nothing to do with Nazis. Of course, that’s absolutely not the case when swastikas are on Nazi uniforms, in a Nazi-themed club. https://archive.ph/O4Omj

EA Pulls Crysis, Command & Conquer 4 from Steam >Electronic Arts has removed the original Crysis from Steam along with Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight, the latter of which was one of the worst-rated games on Steam. >Fans of both Crysis and Command & Conquer have a lot to be thankful for these days: a remaster of the original Crysis trilogy is launching in a few short days and a remaster of the original Command & Conquer games launched last year, two years after it was first revealed to the world. Unfortunately, we just lost access to some of the older games in both of these franchises today. >The removal of the Crysis and Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight from Steam might seem strange, but EA has sensible reasons for both removals. A Reddit submission notes that both games have been pulled from sale and their respective store pages now have the following message: >Let's start with Crysis -- the Crysis Remastered Trilogy is launching later this week. The first game has already been out for a little while, so it makes sense that the game was removed as shown on SteamDB. It's not an unusual practice, either; Rockstar Games is removing the older GTA games since a remaster of the 3D trilogy is on the way. >The removal of Command & Conquer 4 (as noted on SteamDB) is a little stranger -- there's no new game in the franchise on the horizon. The reason for this particular removal may be a little different -- according to Steam250, that game is #4 on the list of the 100 worst-rated Steam games of all time with only 18% positive reviews. >While you can't get these classics anymore, you can look forward to playing the shiny new versions that are out today. You can buy Crysis Remastered and Command & Conquer Remastered Collection for PC via Steam, and you can look forward to the second and third games of the original Crysis trilogy arriving later this week. https://archive.ph/5o8wR Burglars are targeting stores for Pokémon & Magic cards and leaving cash >Police in Missouri and Illinois are investigating recent burglaries at gaming stores. Collectible cards, such as Pokemon and Magic cards have been stolen. <Card values have risen as interest in collecting complete sets has grown. <The thefts come just as some businesses are starting to bounce back from the pandemic. >The last couple of months is the first time people have been sitting at tables and playing the games they love again,” said Vince Krekeler, owner of Yeti Gaming in Crestwood. >He said someone broke through a glass door and then hit display cases. It’s the first time he’s been hit by the crime in the 11 years he has been in business. The owner shared surveillance video on the company’s Facebook page and said it appears one person was responsible for the theft late Sunday night at his store on Watson Road. <We really work hard to make a nice business and have a nice selection of products for customers,” said Krekeler. >He said collectors from different parts of the world, including Mexico and the Netherlands, have contacted him to offer support. <We’re not going to let it ruin our business,” Krekeler said. <We’re just not.” >He suspects the thief captured in surveillance images inside his store is the same person responsible for a burglary at Realms of Gaming located in Troy, Illinois. >They left the cash registers and left a lot of the product on the wall,” said store owner Sam Bozarth. “They were coming for the Magic cards, it seems.” <Bozarth said he has also received messages of support from other collectors. >Everyone showing their love and support is like, that’s everything to me,” he said. “That’s kind of what the store is about, honestly.” >Martin Casas is the owner of Apotheosis Comics and Lounge in south St. Louis. His store has not been hit but he sympathizes with the other owners. <Many of these shops are scraping by, and these items that are getting stolen are not cheap,” he said. >Customers can buy a pack of Pokemon cards for $3.99 at his store. Casas said some individual cards are worth more than that on the open market. <If you put that on eBay and somebody starts bidding on it, it suddenly becomes a $100 dollar card.” <Casas said he has elevated his security awareness and has cameras, motion sensors, and sound sensors in place. >St. Louis County Police are investigating a recent burglary at the Game Nite store located on Watson Rd. The glass door to the store was shattered and several glass display cases were broken. >St. Peters Police recently arrested a suspect accused of a burglary at the Collector Store, LLC. >>86738 Goodness I hate Pete so much, I also hate how CNN and Fox completely ignored his bizarre ties to (((Shadow .inc))) Yes a company called Shadow .inc was unironically involved in a state election and they run a fucking phone app of all things and is basically potentially a CIAnigger plant. Honestly CNN/Fox were probably paid to not talk about all the screwy stuff that happened in the Iowa Democratic caucuses. Seriously am I the only one who remembers this shit? It's like the DemocRAT's goal is to be hated by everyone at this point >>86739 Well surrogates and adoption is always an option. I hope you don't unironically think they had an Mpreg butt baby because that's not how biology works.
>>86746 >I hope you don't unironically think they had an Mpreg butt baby because that's not how biology works. Could be a female tranny, and the news would call her his "husband." Less likely, because female trannies that don't drop the pretense after a few months are rare, but it's happened.

>>86738 >>86742 It's like reading about all the shit that went on during the collapse of the Roman empire. I hope someone's keeping an archive of all this shit so people 2000 years from now can laugh at our folly.
>>86749 We are keeping archives, and they are doing their best to destroy them. That is why we must stop them. He who controls the present controls the past. He who controls the past controls the future.
>>86749 Rome has bridges that still stand to this day, meanwhile in the U.S. they fall after one day. Archives might be the only things that last that long.

Oi faggots, I have an actually productive idea for GG-relate shit that might be useful and even fun. If you're interested, grab as many egregious instances of fuckery involving companies that you want people to boycott until they change (or if you believe they're hopeless, then dying instead). Archives would be nice too of course if you have any.
>>86753 Forgot to mention I'll save sharing the idea for next thread since this one's about to die.
>>86751 Well yeah of course they do. They made structures out of stone and volcanic concrete, all our stuff is disposable McArchitecture that was made in China and assembled by illegals and methheads.

>>86766 I remember a time when the entire point of transgenderism was that transgender people had a different mental identity than their physical sex, so much so that they would actually find it traumatic to even look at themselves in the mirror. That whole idea is very badly disproven by the existence of pregnant trans men. It also disproves the argument that has been getting louder and louder recently, that 'trans women are female' and/or 'trans men are male'. Never should have given these people an inch, they've always been insane.
(548.33 KB 720x406 wE_hAvE_mAdE_pRoGrEsS.mp4)

>>86767 and it amazes me that I have heard arguments from proponents of transgenderism, unironically, that because intersex mutations happen (with less chance than 1:billion) in humans that sex is not binary, in spite of intersex humans always being infertile/sterile apparently that rare exception is all they need to disprove the rule, yet would also unironically hold the belief that 13% of the population committing more than 50% of the crime is purely victims of circumstance and not representative of the group's majority disposition
