Best Moments of the Cup Supporter 08/18/2020 (Tue) 12:30:47 No. 1454
I want to make a compilation of all the best moments of this (and all the other) /icup/ competitions, including the winning goals of the finals and sort of pay tribute to the hard work of the people behind it. Anyone got any suggestions for good moments worth saving? I recall /sp/'s crestfallen goalkeeper being probably the highlight of the cup.

Of the top of my head and with absolutely negative zero bias whatsoever at all, >Kaiser Reinhardo vs. the /otter/s >/bane/ crashing this stadium twice, just to make sure there are no survivors and also the group draw >/eris/

>30 rounds of penalties, I don't care if it was a friendly. >Anti-Bully Ranger's goal vs /bmn/ >The Great /just/ening. /just/ vs. /strek/, I don't know if there's video still, but that game was incredible. >>1457 That second one wasn't us. Still classic.
I don't know if there's video of it, but /bane/'s 4(U) goals on /strek/.
Swolecard's run in the 8chan cup /genISIS/ beating /hgg/ /monster/ topping the group with their first ever win, as well as their 2nd ever win /test/ /unna/ v /just/ /unna/ v /cow/ /ausneets/ getting revenge against /strek/ and later /u/
>>1482 >/monster/ topping the group with their first ever win, as well as their 2nd ever win The last icup's results for /monster/ aren't recorded on the wiki for whatever reason, but they did manage to win enough then to get past the group stages at least.
>>1483 they're recorded when I looked and the last cup they topped their group with 1 win, which was their 2nd ever win
>>1483 wat http://infinitycup.shoutwiki.com/wiki/2019_Summer_Infinity_Cup#Group_E >Last edit, 16th August Which has a video link to 1-0 W /monster/ vs /ita/ https://pt.neko.bar/videos/watch/0cd4335e-08cb-416b-9c83-c387978b669b Also I wish these suggestions would mention which cup they happened in.
>>1490 The suggs in >>1455 are all from this Cup. 30 rounds of penalties was a friendly before the last Cup ( https://pt.neko.bar/videos/watch/4a1d6f51-c3d5-48d1-a1c5-ddff86558bfd ) Anti-Bully Ranger was a quarterfinal match last Cup (video not available yet) The Great /just/ening was this match ( http://infinitycup.shoutwiki.com/wiki/The_8chan_Cup_Group_F#.2Fjust.2F_v_.2Fstrek.2F ). /bane/ destroying /strek/ was also the 3rd Cup (http://infinitycup.shoutwiki.com/wiki/The_8chan_Cup_Knockout_Stage#Third_Place_Game)
It literally just happened but Possum's goal from half the field away against an empty goal definantly qualifies
and fuck that whole game of /ausneets/ v /eris/, based 6-1
I'd also suggest the first time Gondola appeared on /ita/ with their current 3d model. That got me some laughs.
/fascist/ v /lego/
St. John's desperate murder at the last minute.
The battle for third place was absurd.
>>1454 icup2 leftypol vs bane quarterfinal, the 90+ winner by subbed on B*rnie S*nders
>>1910 Are the matches back online? Last time I checked nekobar was down and couldn't access them.
>>2944 Sadly Nekobar removed their Peertube instance from the homepage a while ago, so those matches are now lost and the only one who still has the recordings is SKF.
>>2946 You got any way of contacting him or anyone that may still have the recordings? This fucking sucks
>>2947 I actually have recordings from the G-Cup: Full VODs from Day 1 and Day 2 Day 3 download from Nekobar Day 4 though is hit-or-miss because I was using Streamlink to download the Twitch livestream as it happened. Unfortunately it would start and stop randomly, but I think a good chunk of it has been saved I think (serves me right for not downloading all of the Nekobar archive). I don't have any ICUP 6 recordings sadly.
>>2956 Splendid, anon Do you think anonfiles will keep them up for a long time?
>>2956 >I don't have any ICUP 6 recordings sadly. It's fine, they'll resurface eventually. I was wondering if anyone had a contact for OxfordComa, as he may have some footage from the older cups also.
>>2956 I have ICUP test games and the three Saturday group match VODs. (Groups E, F, G and half of D).
>>2962 I'd use archive.org instead. You can make them unlisted if there's a reason for it.
>>2962 Only one way to find out. Day 1: https://anonfiles.com/Fbu7p8L6x3/SKF_replay_1613242864616_mp4 Day 2: https://anonfiles.com/D8a515L5x2/SKF_replay_1613329226272_mp4 Day 3 (matches): https://anonfiles.com/jfEe16Lcx9/Day_3_7z Incomplete VOD for Day 4: https://anonfiles.com/5bL72fL1xa/Day_4_7z >>2983 >>2984 That's good. >archive.org I don't remember where I read it, but don't you have to notify the Archive staff when uploading a lot of stuff at once? Maybe I'm just wrong though.

>>2996 thank you based anon
>>2996 Well, it's good practice if you're uploading literally terabytes. For a few dozen 0-5 GB streams, they have better things to worry about. t. had an automated bot uploading YouTube videos If you've got a whole cup, you can upload them in the same 'item' and add/remove files from it as needed.
>>2996 Many thanks. Think you or someone else can also upload them on a streaming service?
>>3000 OK then. Would you be interested in creating the account or should I do myself? Fair warning though, if I do upload I'll do the AV1 compression method posted somewhere here. >>3007 What streaming service do you have in mind? Even then, the whole Nekobar situation pretty much tells me that archive is the best way to go about it.
>>3022 You can do it. Unless you really, really hate Google reCaptcha, in that case I can take one for the team. >if I do upload I'll do the AV1 compression method posted somewhere here. Why? If you have slow upload speeds it makes sense. Just make sure you're not ruining the video with visible compression. I think AV1 is a cool format if you're trying to save space. Safari (Apple OSX and iOS browser) can't view them yet but most other browsers can.
>>3034 >Just make sure you're not ruining the video with visible compression I'm planning on using this mpv script for cutting the VODs: https://github.com/ekisu/mpv-webm Would that be good enough?
>>3034 > in that case I can take one for the team. That'd be peachy.
>>3036 If it's not too inconvenient, I would like to request the full VOD be uploaded as the raw files, in a different collection just for the raw stuff, then make the items with separated matches. That said, if you have prohibitive internet caps or something, it's ok if those raws come later. For the cutting, I wouldn't recommend that tool. Essentially, my recommendation depends on how much time you're willing to spend encoding, and most importantly, why you're re-encoding at all. But really, based on some tests I just did, h264 (.mp4) looks much better than vp8 (.webm) for the same bitrate and encoded about twice as fast (hardware has been made to work well with h264 for a long time). The newer versions like vp9 and h265 and AV1 would have like 30% or 50% better bitrate for the same perceptive quality, but the encoding time is far longer right now; about 6 times as long in my test, so instead of spending 30 seconds for 2 passes on a 30 second clip, you're spending 3-5 minutes. So unless you have patience or know about hardware acceleration, I would just download Handbrake (a graphical front-end to ffmpeg, that IIRC mpv uses anyway) and use .mp4 h264, same framerate as input (constant), set the Constant Quality to something that looks good (test it on like 10 seconds of action), 2 pass encoding, and the Preset slider to the slowest you can tolerate (probably 'slow' or 'slower'). Use the Range bit up the top to make the Seconds you want to start and end on, I have mpv side-by-side and just copy in the timestamp of when I want to start and end.
(7.30 KB 584x203 ClipboardImage.png)

>>3050 I'm checking Handbrake now, but the 2-pass encoding option is greyed out and when encoding a 10-second clip it does only one pass. Do I have to use a different profile for using 2-pass with CQ? >raw files Sure. I'll create an archive account later today and then we can work from there.
(31.78 KB 956x237 ClipboardImage.png)

>>3052 That's my screw-up: 2 pass is only used when aiming for an average bitrate, not for Constant Quality. Unless you're aiming for a certain maximum filesize, I would just use CQ.
Took a little longer, but here's most of the GCUP uploaded to archive.org: https://archive.org/details/@icuparchive I'll probably start encoding the matches next week and upload it to the Matches playlist. Erisian dude, how do I unlist these?
>>3090 Doing G-D's work, anon
>>3090 There is a place where you can add new custom metadata fields. Create one called noindex with the value true. Now that you've already made them, there will be an Edit button somewhere to the left of the title, and if gives you the option of editing the file/s or the metadata, so click metadata.
(410.51 KB 554x746 ClipboardImage.png)

>>3099 Alright. Thanks for the info. As I promised, I'm going to start cutting the matches for Day 1 now (hopefully this doesn't take too long).
(31.38 KB 975x455 ClipboardImage.png)

>>3100 Just confirming, this is how the user page looks like to people who aren't you. The videos are successfully unlisted, only people who have (or correctly guess) the link will be able to find them.
Day 1 of the G-Cup has been uploaded to the archive. I'll start with Day 2 shortly afterwards. >>3133 That's right. Here are the links to the current playlists: https://archive.org/details/gcup-raws https://archive.org/details/gcup_20220310
>>3136 >all those Cut Out filters wew
>>3136 thank you so much!
Day 2 uploaded to the matches playlist. I'll have to go now and check what can be salvaged from the Day 4 recordings. >>3147 You're welcome. >>3137 What do you mean by that? Speaking of filters, how's the quality of the clips? They seem to be look about the same quality as in the raws.
>>3156 The clips look fine to me, archive is kinda slow to load tbh but I guess that's what you get without proper sharding of the database and really not your problem
