What are you currently reading, मित्र? everything related to literature, books and philosophy goes here. please stay on topic
Also, if anyone is interested in developing their understanding of right wing economic thought here are a few links. cato.org fraserinstitute.org mises.org These three all have pretty extensive libraries and do their own research. I've ranked them in terms of quality. Only Mises is a broadly international think tank, although it does focus on the states. Cato is American and Fraser is Canadian. They are still quite useful though.
Random thought - Peter Druckers books should be compulsory for everyone. I don't have an MBA; neither do I need one, but his books are really good at applying principles to your life. >>7237 Table , chair and lamp. Why is that hard ?
>>180 I'm really into fantasy lately i want to finish while i'm still young if i'm older i can read classics or religious stuff but would feel folish reading scifi
>>7259 Who cares what you read and when.
>>7272 Chicks brag about reading wattpad slop why can't you read sci fi.
>>7273 >>7272 >>7259 Embrace randomness. Read whatever you want to. If a book doesn't interest you , drop it. Most of all, always take notes. If you cannot remember or use what you read, it is useless.
>>5658 this is quite late, but I've started out with your recommendations really enjoyed surprise kill vanish by annie jacobson would appreciate more spy thrillers, fiction or non fiction I've tried to get into other types of fiction and any type of non fiction, but I can't, as my dopamine receptors have been destroyed by the internet. I'd like some suggestions/recommendations for fiction(books that induce adrenaline rushes, like spyfics or well written crime novels) and non fiction.
>>7310 Read Operation Paperclip by Annie Jacobson, or the audiobook, her voice is excellent. Let Bhutto Eat Gass as mentioned before is also excellent. If you are into academia, read Lab Girl by Hope Jahren. Sacred Games by Vikram Chandra is an excellent read. You might find it a bit librandu at times, but keep reading. And it is very saucy, filled with tons of sex, action and gali's. India's biggest cover up by Anuj Dhar is also good.
>>7532 Great book
>>180 https://www.marxists.org/archive/bhagat-singh/1930/10/05.htm interesting read, regardless of your political beliefs. Reading bhagat's works also makes you realize that he was not motivated by his love for India, Indians or the Indian culture(which he actively despised), which contradicts what's presented in popular media.
>>7532 >>7967 Can you post these two in the Hindutva thread ?
>>7970 not the OP but how is a marxist document even remotely related to hindutva?
>>7987 I meant only gandhi book. BUT, a lot of European Marxists were revolutionaries in their own european nations, who inspired Savarkar , whose writings in turn inspired Bhagat singh. I am not a fan of Marxist ideas. but they were used by people on all sides of the spectrum for revolutionary activities. Which in my opinion felt more like finding an idea to justify your violence.
>>7990 Revolutionary impulse and the total remaking of the social order are the only worthwhile things in Marxism. Although as I get older stable reforms become more appealing.
>>7995 Will read the article but am skeptical on the benefits. Mine is usually just being awake with an erection for 5 hours before getting up feeling like fried dog shit.
https://nautil.us/your-memories-are-like-paintings-774424/ Understanding that memories are interpretations can transform you.
>>8033 The decline started with the forced integration of schools and became irreversible with the liberal reaction to the Bush admin. Whatever, America will breed the retards that will destroy her.
>>8033 Lol
Struggling to find research articles past 2021. > Help
>>8048 Topic ?
Holy shit i'm a zoomerfag and this thread is a gem
>>7240 >Table , chair and lamp. Why is that hard ? Most people read in their bed or one of the three is shitty. Literally have not met a person with a good reading setup, myself included.
>>8058 I don't own many things , but a dedicated space for reading and writing is very important to me. More so than a good phone or laptop. I did not pay for my table though, I picked it up in the street. In India, I had a box and used to sit on floor which was a good setup, not luxurious. If you need your book or tablet at eye level, get a tablet stand. 30$ can get you a good one easily. Lying down is nice for relaxing fiction, but also encourages passivity and laziness. Both of which are a disease.
>>8058 From within this thread Physical setups are underrated. Luckily you don't need lot of money.
>>8058 https://www.workspaces.xyz/ This is wealth porn, mostly unnecessary. But ignore that and many good organization ideas.
>>180 More sci than lit but eh.
Amazon used to suppress the reach of book that disagree with GAE agenda. BUT, I did not know the following - Amazon can unpublish books - Amazon can 'update' books on your kindle I don't use my kindle much. It has a few old books that I keep as a 2nd reference screen for myself. I am not suprised that Amazon is Malware, but even ebooks I bought, they screw me over for that. Piracy is fine. I do still want to pay the author. Unfortunately only GIta press Gorakhpur seems to provide DRM free ebooks.
>>8116 >>8116 This bothers me a lot. I can pirate a lot of books, the ones I want to support, I can simply order the paperback. But there are many , especially Indian authors which can be hard to order out of India. Indian publishes think android apps are a good idea to tell sell digital books to people who want a digital copy. Then Indians complaint that google as a platform exploits them. We learn nothing from east India company fiasco.
