>>7467 No but I might add it to the watchlist unless it's yaoi. >>7473 Is it yaoi? Glad to know aic isn't forgotten
>>7441 20th century boys has many Japan specific references. Like nichijou even if you get some of the references, there are many that'll you miss cuz you're not from Japan. This video goes into detail as to why this anime won't get a anime but deals with the political background of 20th century boys https://youtu.be/bhuMhMHmDWQ?si=SYaVu3DULr3sVMkX
>>7474 >Is it yaoi Yeah I actually read it because a fujoshi recommended it, but it's probably one of the best thrillers from start to finish. Also very well drawn. Never seen a manhwa better drawn than killing stalking. Wow I wanna re read it now.
>>7473 I did. Good read. The gay stuff is not forced in. >>7481 A gen Z girl who works for us was explaining to me what fujoshi, male manipulators and other gen Z terms. It felt like listening to lectures on Pokemons for me. I am a dinosaur.
>>7484 >male manipulators This is new to me. Also just realised I haven't heard the word otaku in years.
There have been two anime re makes for adults this year 1. Naoki Urasaw's Pluto - Re imagining of Astro Boy. What if Astro boy was real during the time of the Iraq war. This one was hard hitting but also a very different take on the AI/Robot world we are entering. In the Kursk offensive, USA already used autonomous drones against Russian troops, so we are already in a world where robots and AI are being not only used for humans but also against it. Original Pluto stories were written in the 1960's where the outlook towards robots was very different and innocent. So to see it today, where out POV is very negative, is really refreshing. But Urasaw's take is also very realistic and set in the real world. Which is what makes it the adult version of Astro Boy. 2. Dededede demons destruction - Like pluto, this anime hides its true colors. It is a remake of Doremon for modern times with adult thought. But at the same time, it captures the world through the eyes of a young person in a very honest yet brutal way. This show also takes a very realistic look at how people live through calamities. A lot of people have heroic recall or dramatic recall of historic events. COVID for example, is remembered by people dramatized or with themselves as the hero. In reality, life goes on and we do our daily things, while a calamity goes on. Those who die, just die and those who live, usually live due to sheer luck. This show , captures that reality through the eyes of school girls and then collage first years.
Shekhar home is Indian/Bengali take on Sherlock holmes. Borrows strongly from the new BBC series. The first 2 episodes are cringe, despite KK Menon and Raveer Shrouey, both actors worth their weight in gold. Rasika Duggal, another great actress also does justice to her role. Sadly the word puns are way too much for me. I can't watch it. Most of you will not be able to either. >>7512 There are German versions of these. I can learn the language and speak it, but what youngsters here speak is alien to me. It is youngsters way of encryption.

https://zorotv.com.lv/dandadan-episode-1/ Great start. This anime looks good.
>>8021 Wow dandadan got an anime? The manga was fun, had excellent art.
>>8047 Yep, I avoided the manga because the animation studio does good work.
Terrifier 3 trailer looks good. Watch 1 and 2 if you enjoy horror.
The Netflix Mc Mahon Documentary was amazing. Binged it because couldn't sleep. It is about Vince Mc Mahon the person and the character. Either way, it brings into perspective how much work went into these characters and how much they meant to me. WWF allowed us to feel , give us characters to love and hate. And there was nothing else like it and there still isn't. It is the modern soap opera. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XA3D3iJdzg
>>8083 > But it is shit because it isn't real https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYvMOf3hsGA Replug this essay from 9 years ago.
completed cowboy bebop yesterday, just too good, is all i can say.
>>8110 It is a very heavy show that has stayed with me throughout all these years.
Original Gundam is super based. My cable guy used to pirate some channel which had it. I was too young to understand it, watching it now is very rewarding if you don't mind the old animation style and the cliches of old animes. We need good war propaganda in India. Not John and Sunny deol movies.
>>8269 have you watched Legend of the Galactic Heroes
>>8313 No. Reviews seem good, will check it out. It will take me sometime to get to it, I watch just 1 epi a day usually so it takes me time to complete shows.
Saw this zombie movie called mads. Absolute kino, amazing sound design and acting. French are masters of horror. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD-xWYq5wkg Also saw Never let go. Kind of Christian horror without obvious Christian references. Quiet good. I find the normal exorcism horror very boring.
New season of Sevenrence is amazing so far. I am very surprised Apple of all companies allowed this show to be made https://youtu.be/xEQP4VVuyrY
https://youtu.be/FgkQQCFaYuY Good show so far, 2 episodes in. Mike Judge never dissapoints.
> Millitary anime with soldiers who don't have hair dangling over their eyes. Thank you to the anon who recommended it.
>>8744 Never heard of LOGH until recently when I checked MyAnimeList anime ranking. It's in top 10-15 best rated anime.
>>8749 Taste is subjective. Top 10 lists are not very useful for me at least. So I tend to ignore lists and narrative.
>>8827 Top 10 lists are made by masses. So there would always be a show that an anime loving human would like. > tend to ignore narrative There's no narrative, you're as human as a street hobo with different environment and preconditioning. No jews are controlling top 10 lists to set a narrative. I used to think like that, that's why I still haven't watched AOT and Vinland saga. But I accidentally watched frieren because I was bored and hell yeah it deserves no. 1 spot. https://youtu.be/0GSZpZGZK44?si=zEAh1l3-O__xnPBB
>>8831 Sorry if it sounds like rude or harsh. I should reread my replies 3-4 times to check the tone especially where I can't edit or delete.
>>8831 >>8832 Its not rude. Don't worry about tone as long as its to the point and factual (not lying to gaslight) Frieren is on my list, it is universally praised for a reason. The common narratives were in recent times, suggested me correctly - Chain saw man - Dandadan - Vinland Saga (yeah its good) - Jujutsu Kaizen (yeah it was good) etc etc They in the past got a lot wrong - Sword art online (or most Isekai in general) - Shojo (not that the genre is bad, bust most stories have no sould) etc. You see the point I hope. Now that Netflix makes anime, Japan is under pressure to go woke etc. Then the best ones I enjoy, are far from these lists. Odd Taxi, Ping Pong, Kaiba, Eizouken, Do it yourself, etc Most recently apothecary diaries. Most importantly, I have started to listen to my inner voice only now. And ignore all else.
>>8836 > the common narrative in recent.... I'm sorry for sounding like a retard but I didn't get this sentence. Are you praising them or calling them as narrative? I liked the chainsawman cinematography, it was fresh, the anime felt like a movie, the silence, the music, the choreography. The only limitation was faithfulness the manga. If it was anime original with no men see boob shit, it would've been perfect. Speaking of movies, the movie based on work of chainsawman's author "Look Back" was so good. Made me think about pursuing a artistic hobby.
>>8841 I wrote it poorly. I am sick again. Praising these mainstream anime. I like anime's for action. Continuous frames do justice Manga makes sense for plot. The page turn can obscure surprises so well, that moving grames cannot. Loved the Chainsaw man manga. The hype was justified. Anime was weird for the color palette. > see boob shit Actually, that portion is very meaningful. The anime adaptation was not good. But Anime pacing is always different from the manga. Infact, that plot portion was very meaningful to me and I could relate to Denji, going from a hungry animal ready to do anything, into turning slowly into a realized human. "Look Back" is on my rewatch list. The story is too good. Though it also reminded me of DEDEDE Demons destruction (worth watching). > pursuing artistic hobby Idk if I told you or someone else about the Barbell approach. If your life involves one extreme in a given field (academia i.e. weaponized intellectual obsession) then invest a little time in opposite direction (arts i.e. weaponized feelings creating weapons that attack the feels)
https://youtu.be/z3f4YiagqOA?si=RtkkSBGsJXvvnPli Such a ground movie, they tried to imitate DC style for movie. My roommate said he rather watch Bahubali for 50th time than this and then it clicked why pushpa 2 earn so much money while movies like this gets flop.
Red Rooms. Quebecian movie. Quiet good, about serial killer fans. Check it out. >>8952 Will check it out. I meant to watch it, but idk what happened and I forgot about it.
