Okay, hold your hand up to your chin and look at the page/screen intently. Switch between doing that and writing some nonsense then deleting it until class is over. It works every time.

This might sound obvious, but when you don't know what you're doing in class, it's best to just ask before you fall too far behind. Once you know what you need to be doing, just start doing it, even if you're not very confident. It'll be much better than just sitting at your desk and worrying. The more you work on it, the less you'll have to worry about anyway.
