Enoch Powell Anonymous 01/04/2021 (Mon) 23:54:31 Id: 384157 No. 4193
A political figure who I think warrants more discussion on this board is Enoch Powell. Powell is relatively unheard of outside the British Isles, but he carved his name in the stone of history as one the first politicians to promote right-libertarian ideas. Powell's ideology combined British nationalism with a kind of libertarianism that was tailored to the particularities of the UK (e.g. defending the NHS). Powell was the first politician in Britain to advocate for mass privatisation, and he promoted the idea of monetarism as a means to fight the rampant inflation of the time. He supported all of this in the 1960s, back when Margaret Thatcher was almost unknown. During the late 60s and early 70s, Powell also highlighted the threat of non-white immigration, and being Eurosceptic, strongly opposed the UK's entry into the EU. For these reasons, I think Enoch Powell was an incredibly farsighted individual and a underrated Libertarian figure. There is a documentary on YouTube about him called 'Odd Man Out' if you want to know more about the guy, heres a link to it: https://youtu.be/ZITwANJuoLc
>>4193 Enoch Powell was pretty based, overall. I don't know a lot about his economic policies, but on the demographic problem, he was very ahead of his time.

dont know much about powell. ive always found mosley interesting though. you know what powell and mosley's relationship was?
>>4194 Powell was an ardhent believer in deflationary monetary policies, and advocated for the privatisation of British Telecom. And remember he preached this in the 1960s, when the UK government had nationalised the steel industry. He was just as farsighted in economic policy as he was with his anti-immigrant, Eurosceptic attitudes.
Some Americans may have thought that tyranny would never come to the US because the rich, celebrities, media, politicians, and American people would resist. Who would have thought that the rich would loot the country by getting bailouts and subsidies while being the ones conspiring and building the police state by paying actors, singers, and athletes to distract Americans with bread and circuses, using reporters to push propaganda, real crises, and false flags, and buying off and corrupting politicians with campaign donations and cushy job promises to start wars, import refugees that weaken and divide the US, drive up the debt, make laws that enslave Americans, and throw crumbs to pacify the 99% in the form of food stamps, Obamacare, Obamaphones, and public housing? The destruction of the USA is nearly complete.
