I think that we can all agree on at least one thing, and that is, when the replacement does start happening, it will be survival of the fittest. No such thing as fundamental right, Mr Founding Father.
I agree that, to a certain extent, some artists may be irreplaceable, and I appreciate that "human uniqueness" in their art, that you all talk so much about. But AI is still gonna win me over in all aspects, be it by speed or quality. If not right now, then eventually.
The main argument here against AI seems the "requirement of human connection", and "uniqueness", and "being surprised" (which is something that some say AI will never be able to do to us, but more on that in a bit). Ironically, the same arguments used for the same discussion on non-porn art.
What is there to say about it? Well.
Like I said in a previous post, if you're here with an inner need for art that touches you, instead of just you touching your penis, then good on you buddy. All those points are HIGHLY subjective, and I understand if you need human connection on your porn (sorta? personally I don't care but I can understand why you might). But see, as generated images, maybe videos, even, as they improve with time, with years, people will start asking (and this far into it, they are already are asking) if they can live with the fact that no hands drew the girl crying of tickling laughter in some stationary restraints that they're seeing, and it is actually the magic of a machine designed to fulfill human wishes. I can, indeed live with that.
And I would very much like to be able to order 5 images of Nanachi's armpits getting absolutely obliterated by tickling hands while she hopelessly thrashes around in a bondage device, and get EXACTLY that, either for free, or for a low price, and in less than a minute. Be honest, anyway. Who wouldn't?
We saw in this board how advanced shit is. Let's give it a few more years and see if people that care about humanity change their minds. If they don't it's fine too, point is, some have already changed theirs.
If you think AI is never gonna be able to surprise us, I'm happy to tell you that it's literally just because AI technology is so recent that companies are still gatekeeping it hard enough that nothing both cool and NSFW related gets done with them. (Except NovelAI story generator, god bless NovelAI) When that does happen, THEN, you should probably welcome our new robot overlords.
Companies will at some point start realizing it, and will capitalize on 90% of people here (some already managing, see FeetGen and NovelAI) because by then real artists, while the good ones won't inherently be replaced, they will be forced to share space with robots that are just as decent albeit way faster.
In simpler terms, it's really just a matter 2 things: Time, and personal taste. For now though... I think we can all enjoy some robot-generated image of a cutie being tickled to oblivion if it looks good enough, no?
