So yea, I uh, accidentally deleted /vg/. Disregard that.

>>6 >>7 >>9 Oh no, that doesn't sound good. You should make a confirmation so Mark doesn't delete /v/ trying to moderate from his phone. :^)

the kike would never delete his own board and how do you press delete board and not realize it, was there no confirmation?

>>15 There's a checkbox I must've hit, but other than that there's no confirmation.
>>13 >>6 I've noticed that images from the deleted /vg/ still seem to be on the server unless it's just VanwaTech caching. Are the threads still on there too? https://8chan.se/.media/f74c1ae400efa2eaf7c595e1237fe3de-imagepng.png

>>17 Must be caching, I can't find it in the media management.
>>18 I'm assuming that's something along the lines of >yous are stored clientside as board and post numbers >the board is stored as uri rather than some unique id, so when the board is culled then recreated and the post numbers start over from 1 again, if your data isn't cleared you will see yous that aren't yours since the js can't tell the difference >possibly the backend doesn't even have unique ids for boards aside from uri for the js to use That kind of shit came up a lot when writing design docs (particularly database schema) for my dream imageboard.

>>26 I hope they haven't gone out of business else I should've bought a 2nd one for backup.
>>27 I was thinking of getting one but I'm unsure if I should get one like that or one where you only use your thumb.
>>28 I hate thumb ones. I got the top type because I wanted to switch between left and right. Right hand does more movement over time. More spacebar, more numkeys, and more movement from the keyboard to the mouse. Unless you got an arm wrestling training, that stuff gets to you eventually.
>>1 This is honestly pretty damn funny. Well done.

>deleted the board by accident Can't remember if any good topics were deleted since that would be less things to talk about.
>>1 ZERO HOUR
I can't tell if the BO was just that level of empty-headed or this was a 4D masterstroke to make Mark look less bad than he actually is. Try not to scare us like that okay. I think Smug and PLW can be nice places to hang out in every now and then.

Between this and the julay/v/ takeover it's been an entertaining couple of days. It feels good to see drama on the internet from stuff like this instead of organized oppression. If only all our drama could be like this.
>>182 I agree, it is pretty refreshing to watch a conflict go down that we have no particular stakes in. Free entertainment.
>>182 Julay getting destroyed by one /2hu/ fag is really funny.
>accidentally Right. You accidentally opened the management page, accidentally checked the confirmation box then accidentally confirmed the deletion.
Wow. You singlehandedly and short order destroyed the one board with a slight chance to overthrow the cakekike's reign. I wouldn't be surprised if you were actually Mark himself and this was planned. /vg/ will not recover from this.
>>188 All things are possible with the eternal phoneposter, please do not make light of the mentally delayed.
>>182 Turns out innocent drama was too good to be true. Someone took Julay down it looks like. Tor might still be accessible. Wouldn't surprise me if some of the spam when the new BO took over julay/v/ was from whoever got it taken down, using this incident to attack the site while other drama was happening. Someone was in the julay/v/ meta thread claiming to be the cp poster and that he/she/they were having the domains removed by reporting the site, but who knows if they were telling the truth. Ending all their posts with the ( : smiley. There was a lot of random misinformation and I think someone was trying to stir as much shit and play everyone against each other as much as possible.
(1.18 MB 1000x1016 sadguts.jpg)

Is this the end for any hope of a /v/ without Mark or Jim?
>>196 >>197 I hope I jumped the gun on saying julay looks down. Their first domain went down, now the second has a while later, but maybe it is only maintenance for the second one. Wouldn't be the first time. It has been a bad year so far for imageboards. I was happy to see people leaving 8kun because I'd had enough of that place and its problems, then sites started getting hit. Society is dominated by people who just like destroying other people's things. The people reporting places aren't even the real problem, it is that people are willing to cooperate with bad actors over everyone else. No one should be getting taken down by a slimy worded email that sounds like it came right out of a level of hell reserved for demagogues.
>>198 if i recall correctly, julay had a certain bunker set up, but I can't remember what it was something.xyz? i remember something like spqr but spqrchan.xyz just gave me a 502
>>199 A great deal of the datamining/botnet "bunkers" are on .xyz, so be extremely cautious.
>>199 https://spqrchan.xyz/ is the alt domain that went down after the first. Both going down some time apart is what made me think both domains got shut down.
bruh why is julay world down?

>>196 >Global janny admits that none of the jannies are going to take down CP to spite kimeemaru >Be surprised that it registrar takes it down because of CP

>>205 I'll make a sticky for it.
>>206 Danke.
>>209 Ah, I just figured out how to make board messages. I'll leave it on the header for a few days instead.
>>1 Is anyone here competent enough to set up automatic scheduled backups of each board's Db in the future, in case of fuckups like this, raids, etc.?
>>196 >but who knows if they were telling the truth. What reason is there to not believe that the CP spammer who ended some posts in smileys when he claimed to be reporting the site to the hosts/registrars after the site goes down and the reason cited is "child abuse"?

>>238 It really depends on what time of day it is, but yes that's very low for what it once was. I think most activity happens around 5pm EST and afterwards with people getting off work. At least, that's what I have noticed >>236 I've noticed that and it's been like that for at least 2 weeks. I don't know why, maybe they got elections coming up or something. Maybe they migrated from some other board. I didn't even know the board existed beforehand.
do we really need flags here
>>251 It helps shitposting energy
>>252 what? No. Also, I absolute hate when people know i'm from a shithole country, that's not what anonymity is about.
You might have seen this elsewhere already but a few days ago someone launched zchan.cc, a new site using JSChan (the software Fatchan used) that allows anything legal in the U.S., though requiring permission for board creation. Loli is of course allowed. Yesterday I asked the Zchan owner if he would be fine with it being a new home for fat/v/, reminding him that having a potentially popular board means people might try to send emails to the companies he's using trying to get him shut down and if they're successful we'd want him to switch companies like Smug has done rather than giving up. He said it was fine and I created the board: https://zchan.cc/v/index.html I emailed the fat/v/ board owner yesterday asking him if he wants to be board owner again and he hasn't responded yet, I'll give him the board if he says yes. If not I'll try doing it myself, rules would be pretty similar to fat/v/ except I'll be more permissive about "board culture" threads. I promise to not accidentally delete the board. Check it out, consider making a thread, tell the site owner if you run into any technical problems, and tell me what you think.
(115.06 KB 335x329 really nigger.jpg)

>>255 >requiring permission for board creation
>>258 I think that's fine for a site that's merely part of the webring and lets on a handful of boards, rather than trying to have all boards on one server.
