WWE 205 Live preview, April 3, 2018: Mark Andrews seeks retribution against Drew Gulak
Tonight on WWE 205 Live, Mark Andrews seeks to derail Drew Gulak’s aggression in a rematch from the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.
>Can Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali’s friendship survive WrestleMania?
The WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match at WrestleMania is not only the “heart and soul of the Cruiserweight division” colliding, but it will also test the limits of the friendship that Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali share. Two of the most exciting competitors on WWE 205 Live, Ali and Alexander have incredible respect for one another and have frequently teamed together, raising the stakes and implications of their impending battle.
Sitting down with WWE 205 Live GM Drake Maverick, Ali and Alexander spoke about their friendship, but they both understand that they can become the face of WWE 205 Live and achieve their dreams on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Both Superstars made clear that they will stop at nothing to achieve their goal.
Ready to lay everything on the line, can Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali remain friends no matter who emerges victorious?
>Is Drew Gulak too aggressive for Mark Andrews?
Despite an impressive victory against Akira Tozawa in the first round of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, Mark Andrews had his WrestleMania hopes derailed by an aggressive Drew Gulak in the quarterfinals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.
Applying a torturous Dragon Sleeper for the win, Gulak refused to release the hold, forcing the official to intervene. Although Gulak would lose to Mustafa Ali in the tournament semifinals, Mark Andrews and Tony Nese – who Gulak brutally defeated in the tournament’s first round – both wanted a rematch with him.
In the spirit of competition, WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick had Nese and Andrews compete for the opportunity to face Gulak first. Following a fast-paced battle, Andrews emerged victorious and immediately asked Maverick to make the match.
Although Andrews is determined to defeat Gulak, the Philadelphia native is poised to inflict the maximum amount of pain upon his opponents. A hardened technical competitor, Gulak will use his in-ring ability to keep the high-fiving and stage-diving Andrews on the defensive and undoubtedly regretting a rematch.
Will Andrews suffer the same fate as before against Gulak, or will he prove he can handle even the most hostile competitors the Cruiserweight division can offer? Find out tonight on WWE 205 Live at 10 :20/9 :20 C on WWE Network!
