PPV Power Rankings Boliever 11/11/2018 (Sun) 10:25:55 Id: fc0d0d No. 130650
I'm curious, what is /wooo/'s power rankings for certain PPVs i.e. WrestleMania? Decided to post mine, tell me if you agree or disagree and if so, why? Couldn't be assed looking at the synopses for the later WMs, so here's the first 20. God Tier: >1. III (1987) >2. X-7 (2001) >3. X-8 (2002) >4. VI (1990) Great Tier: >5. V (1989) >6. XIX (2003) >7. XIII (1997) >8. X (1994) Good Tier: >9. I (1985) >10. XX (2004) >11. XIV (1998) >12. IV (1988) Meh Tier: >13. XII (1996) >14. XV (1999) >15. 2000 >16. IX (1993) Shit Tier: >17. VII (1991) >18. II (1986) >19. VIII (1992) >20. XI (1995)

>>130650 >X-7 being good with that shitty ending >IX not being the lowest tier and above VIII
>>130650 >VII and VIII in Shit Tier >VI in God Tier How can you simultaneously hold these opinions?
Can't comment because I haven't seen those yet since I only started watching Wrestlemania from WM21 onward, so, yeah nice post OP…
>>130654 Because vi is a good show but vii and vii aren't
>>130660 *vii and viii
>>130660 >>130661 VIII is fine
>>130662 The IC and world title match are great, but the rest of it is a fucking slog, The main event botch is really funny but it wasn't that great of a match before it anyways. I don't think it should be shit rank (not OP) and it's definitely better than IX.
>>130663 >>130654 VI had Warrior vs. Hogan, and should have ideally been the match/PPV that kickstarted the New Generation. Everyone liked that match, even the diehard smarks with a burning eternal hatred for the Hulkster. You saw Demolition go against the tag-team of Haku and Andre. Mr. Perfect lost for the first time. The Harts went up against the Russkies. It was the perfect WM to end the Golden Era on, and yet they kept up the charade for the next 2 - 3 years anyway. VII had none of that. It was the last time Savage ever wrestled for WWF since Vinny K was in a period of retiring anyone over the age of 35, including Hogan (hence why he left 2 years later), LOD disposed of what were basically a jobber tag team, and the main event didn't really lead to anything since the Gulf War caused Slaughter to go dangerously near-irreparable levels of heat and he wisely pussied out. VIII had a mega botched ending between Hogan and Sid during a match that had little consequence. That, and the roster was gutted due to Zahorian's steroid scandal. It also happened at a point where even the markiest of marks had grown tired over the Hulkamania-era stars. 2 great matches out of 11 does not a great PPV make. IX I'm just indifferent towards. Undertaker vs. Giant Gonzales was awful, as were the two Heavyweight title bouts can you really call 22 seconds a bout? but the rest was alright. The non-wrestler gimmicks were pretty bad, shoehorning all that Roman shit in there, but who really gives a fuck about what happens outside of the ring? Maybe I'd be tempted to switch IX and VII, but that's about it.
>>130664 >It was the last time Savage ever wrestled for WWF no it wasn't. he came back like 6 months later for an unforgettable feud with Jake. remember when Jake slapped Elizabeth at Tuesday in Texas and it got him NUCLEAR fucking heat?
