Kimetsu no Yaiba Anonymous 09/12/2024 (Thu) 14:28:24 No. 166
News about the trilogy movies on the 22nd of Dec. What are your hopes for the films? Discuss all things Kimetsu here.
>>166 I love Kimetsu but at best we'll get a teaser and a date for the first movie right? It's been a while but I'd assume we're getting Intro, Zenitsu and Upper 2 fight in movie 1, Upper 3 and Upper 1 fight in movie 2 (but wouldn't that make movie 2 too long?) and the final fight in movie 3? Plus the ending stuff and timeskip. Maybe they'll rearrange it and put akaza and upper 1 in separate movies since those are the best ones and pretty long I think. My hopes are just that it comes out 1 per year or faster... Although looking at the Fate trilogy movies those took 1 year and a few months for each... What are YOUR hopes, OP?
>>178 I have no doubts that Ufotable will go absolutely crazy with the movies. What I'm most worried about it the pacing. Hopefully because it's mostly action the pacing won't suffer too badly. What I'm really hoping is that they fix the Muzan tentacle bitch slapping fight to look more interesting than the manga. Still wondering if it'll be a movie or a final season.
>>255 I'm sure they'll fix the Muzan fight visually, haha. Well, I hope so. I could see it being a short final season, but then the pacing would be sooo stretched wouldn't it?
>>255 Also are you worried that the pacing will be too slow (I already think this about KnY) or too rushed?
>>261 I was going to say the pacing being too fast but after some number crunching maybe it'll work out. Assuming sunrise countdown arc isn't part of the movies. They might not able able to afford to slow the pacing down too much.

>>275 > he actually did the math based >assuming I think it's 50/50. I hope it'll be movie quality even as a TV broadcast though.
>>294 I've calculated the number of chapters per arc with how many hours were needed to complete said arcs. Mugan Train ran for just a little under 2 hours for a 13 chapter arc Red Light District was 31 chapters with one 40 minute episode. Each episode is about 22 ish minutes give or take about 4 minutes for intro/outro for a total of about 4 hours. This is with extending the Tengen vs Gyutaro fight. SSV had a similar number of chapters (30) with two 40 minute episodes out of 11 totalling 4 and a half hours and that arc extended a bunch of scenes. If each movie is Mugen Train length they will have about 5 and a half - 6 hours to adapt 44 chapters (or 88 chapters if sunrise arc is included, which I highly doubt there just isn't enough time) including epic ass movie opening scene.

>>299 > did the calculations I kneel otakoku-sama... Any other adaptation could do 88 chapters in 6 hours tbh. Especially since most of the chapters are light on text. 5 chaps an episode, or 15 an hour? And 90 in 6 is doable. But Ufotable is the king of milking right now so I think you're right and they'll do a final season. But honestly extra scenes could be good. I dunno who they hire for filler because usually filler writing is so mediocre (like the Rengoku bonus episode in the TV version of the movie arc) but if they just extend some battle scenes and the epilogue a bit it should be fine. so, 4-5 years of kimetsu anime left huh...?
>>302 >>294 >based >i kneel pic I still feel Mugen train was one of the weaker arc that ufotable managed to pull off pretty well, definitely worth watching rather than reading. I have much more faith in future movies
>>305 Why slap me for talking like how I talk... (´・ω・`) しょぼーん。。。 Infinity train was my favorite arc in the manga! Until the koku fight I think!

>>302 >Ufotable is the king of milking right now I think they aren't milking that cow tit dry enough imo. So much stuff they could still animate. The novels, gaidens, Kimetsu Gakuen, fuck them for STILL not exporting Mitsuri's uniform overseas yet, but having the absolute GALL to sell merch of it online. Speaking of merch, that cow is getting dehydrated. Nevertheless, I don't mind another 4 or 5 years of Kimetsu since it's one of the very few series I genuinely enjoy
>>312 I completely agree but we know execs are retarded and instead of animating gaidens and volume extras (til this season), they just added boring ass taisho secrets for 3 seasons instead of using volume extras and wrote a mediocre filler rengoku episode. >STILL not exporting Mitsuri's uniform overseas yet, but having the absolute GALL to sell merch of it online I had no idea! >Speaking of merch, that cow is getting dehydrated. what did anon mean by this... I enjoy Kimetsu a lot too! But the wait is hard for me... I try not to hype myself up for anything and be in a meditative state instead.
>>314 I'm going to give Ufo the benefit of the doubt and assume the filler episode was made before the gaiden was created. Wani's Rengoku side story was made specifically for the movie premiere. Nevertheless, I do wonder where it'll go from here. Will they animate the side material as ovas or small shorts like Mitsuri's uniform (let us see the short already you stupid fucks) and the kimetsu academy shorts? They've been going fucking ham with merch, collabs, another USJ attraction and rides, stage plays, etc. Especially merch which most of the time is lazy screengrabs slapped onto acrylics. I don't want it to end too soon but the wait is hard for me too. Glad this place is free of mentally ill shitposters where we can actually discuss a series.

>>316 Even if the filler episode came before, I can't believe how mediocre their filler writing was, Especially for something as big as KnY. I do hope the OVAs and shorts you mentioned will be adapted in some format. >Glad this place is free of mentally ill shitposters where we can actually discuss a series. Yep! And I'm optimistic that it'll keep on truckin'. Did you come here from /a/?
>>317 I am. /a/ is a legitimate cesspool where good topics go to die so I'm hoping this place will become more popular with sane people. Lord knows it's impossible to talk about most shows there now, especially KnY.
>>389 Yes! Good topics go to die, and shit topics are given tacit approval by a probably already-infected moderation base. Most jannies leave J*'sposts alone for example. I'm here for the long-term, also hoping that gradually, one by one, people will give this place a try.
