With Halloween fast approaching, let's put the fear of youkai back into man.

>>936 If you find someone who can reach enlightenment while being chewed and digested, that was probably a Buddha just fucking around in the mortal realm.
>>925 >I honestly doubt the youkai would give a shit about you being honest (except Oni, perhaps), or even virtuous. Depends. The Tengu were pretty nice to that one old guy who could dance and from what I can tell most Youkai are monsters who punish a particular crime, like a Bakekujira if your a whaler or if you save a Sazae oni for impure reasons. Besides, people who are virtuous have a higher survival rate in most tales and superstitions influence youkai behavior. I trust in the Lord's plan, so I've no real intention of becoming a hermit.

>>1013 >from what I can tell most Youkai are monsters who punish a particular crime Then what about nurikabe, for example? Most youkai that come to my mind are tricksters and general nuisances.

I've got a big surprise for Kogasa haha

If you spoop Kogasa will she loose her youkai power? And will you gain some of it?
>>205 That's very scary.

Where to put your faith Nameless Fairy 08/10/2020 (Mon) 12:02:07 No. 493 [Reply] [Last]
So, suppose you actually had to make a choice between the three different main religions in Gensokyo - Shintoism, Taoism, and Buddhism. What would you pick? Or would you rather found your own religion?

Akyuu Thread Nameless Fairy 08/30/2020 (Sun) 20:04:03 No. 626 [Reply]
Do you see we'll see Akyuu die somewhere along the lines of the games or the printworks? The children of Miare do not have the longest of life expectancies, and Akyuu, if nothing else, has grown quite a bit since her first appearance.

>>732 I'm pretty sure her charms only raise the corpse itself as a Jiang-Shi, without enslaving the soul of its former owner with it. In other words, Yoshika probably is an artificial entity possessing a dead body, just like Ran is a shikigami possessing a kitsune. My best guess is that Akyuu (or rather, her memories) would just be reincarnated into the next child of Miare, while the Jiang-Shi Akyuu would just be as braindead as Yoshika. Above all this, Akyuu's remains likely will be cremated if the Human Village still follows the Shinto beliefs it held before the Buddhists and the Taoists showed up.
>>734 Wasn't there a thing about Seiga being known as a wicked hermit in part for not respecting the dead people's rights for peace? Not their remains, dead people themselves.
>>735 I kinda figured Seiga is considered a wicked hermit for a lot of currently unknown and ambiguous things, with those things being less ambiguous to Miko/Futo/Tojiko and thus further explaining them distancing themselves from her.

Nazrin has a hard life. Doesn't help that she's the only devout follower of Bishamonten while the rest of the Mouren crew only sticks around for Byakuren's sake.

>>550 >My personal best guess still is them being British, simply because ZUN has a boner for Agatha Christie. Didn't Kosuzu's friend / loyal customer Hieda impersonates her at some point?
>>557 Yup. She likes writing crime novels, but probably can't publish it under her own name because of the Hieda family honor or something. And then there's UN Known Was Her.

Who is Princess Inada anyway, and why is she scolding Minoriko?
Whom is she scolding?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kushinadahime According to this, Princess Inada, Susanoo's wife, is a goddess of rice who was saved by her husband from Yamata-no-Orochi. I'm not sure why she's being scolded, unless it's to keep the seasons on schedule.
>>508 Probably because they only appear at fall

>>487 >An average person eats out 8 spiders a year in their sleep. That's an urban myth. Spiders might not be the sharpest knives in the drawer, but even they would know better than to crawl into a space that is already coated with what effectively is digestive juices, much less stay there. On the other hand, I once had a spider rudely waking me up by dancing around on my closed eyelid. It was not exactly a pleasant experience.

>>379 Primary licenses are subject to renewal once every 2 years. It at the bare minimum requires you to clear the new game on normal and all previous windows games. For new members, to gain primary status is to have at least 12 normal+ 1ccs. Specialization circumvents this, but you must at least get a 1cc on Lunatic in any shooting game that isn't PoFV or unpatched MarisaB in MoF. Benefits of membership include being able to deride any non-members by calling them secondary niggers, and gatekeeping others from joining the club.
(3.98 MB 1720x2437 ClipboardImage.png)

1cc'd every mainline game from 4 to 17 on normal (except maybe 15, if we only count legacy mode), and 4 to 10 on hard. My only lunatic 1cc so far has been on PCB, using max starting lives. Right now I'm trying to get a hard 1cc on SA, but Okuu keeps shoving her control rod up my rectum.
Nigger, I can barely beat the games on the easiest settings let alone 1CC.

>by sheer coincidence, the traditional Romanian plum spirit known as Țuică is pronounced exactly like Suika >vampires are referred to as "blood-sucking oni" in Japanese https://forvo.com/word/%C5%A3uic%C4%83/ What is this all adding up to? What does it mean? Did the Romanians know about Gensokyo long before Zun did? Are there gaps to Gensokyo hidden in the Hoia Baciu?
