Post about what you're watching/reading (or wanna watch/read) Anonymous 11/27/2022 (Sun) 03:50:51 No. 1236
Could be simple updates, impressions, thoughts, or full-on review posts, recommendation requests or really anything related to anime/manga
I'm watching the show about the dark knight that got fired from his job, and I have to say that despite being the worst kind of fantasy (the "fantasy world somehow has video game systems, stats, ect. that the people there are aware of" genre), it surprised me by having the MC not be a massive mangina. When a girl he liked walked into a sauna with him, the show implies they proceeded to fuck until the crack of dawn. He does immediately marry her and have a kid, which reeks of the Japanese government begging its people to breed, I've noticed a few shows now where the MC acts like a normal men would when a beautiful woman obviously wants him. A few seasons ago, we had the isekai about the guy who buys a slave girl and fucks her on day one of having her, before that was Redo of the Healer, and before that, there was Ishuzoku Reviewers. It's good to see that these shows weren't flukes and we're getting shows where men act like men. Now, if only that weren't the only positive thing to say about the show...
Does anyone know what is the deal with Isekai Ojisan's 13th episode, and why it was released yet since last year? It was supposed to end it's first season in the 13th episode, but for some reason, it was not released. Did the show run into trouble in Japan?
>>2541 Too little, too late. The Japanese men already know that the problem is that all women are parasites. No matter the amount of propaganda, men in Japan and all over the world won't go having families en masse just to appease their governments. Once female nature became known to all, it became impossible to ever desire to commit to women ever again. You can't unlearn the truth. There is the other spectrum of what you mentioned, in anime like Isekai Ojisan, in which the girl sends a picture of herself in a swimsuit to the guy she likes, and he promptly deletes the picture, citing that this kind of picture can lead to legal trouble in the future, if she ever wants to falsely accuse him of something. That infuriates the gilr, but the guy does not care. THAT is the reaction that the majority of men in real life relate to. You simply can't trust women, and it is better to stay away from them. If you don't, you are just asking to be sued to death in the future, once the woman decides to take your money away, and the government helps her.
Just started watching Yoroshiku Mecha-doc, an anime from the early 80s about a travelling auto mechanic who wants to work for a professional racing team, but keeps getting sucked into working on cars for hashiriya/street racers (whom he absolutely despises for sullying the reputation of petrolheads and motor racing). It’s pretty funny, and is filled to the brim with period street racing knowledge and tech.
I'm tearing through sports anime as of late Finished watching Giant Killing and now I'm watching Eyeshield 21 Surprising since I don't care for either of the sports in question
>>2662 How is it compared to something like initial D?
>>1236 Watching Patlabor. Three episodes in and I am enjoying it. Going to have to get all the other episodes now.
>>2810 What have you been liking about it?
>>2811 (checked) I like the mech origins being basic loaders/workers for construction but later criminal elements start requiring cops to upgrade as well. A good grounded approach to things is something I like. I like that their mech guns are essentially just scaled up cop guns, and I like how all the rookie pilots are all fuck ups in one way or another. Supporting characters are entertaining as well. Only character I dislike so far is Kanuka. I've since finished the first set of seven episodes so I need to check out the anime/movies next. Though I read there are a few different timelines depending on which medium (manga/movie/anime) you decide to follow so I gotta make sure I don't skip around. I hope they get a bit more mecha action in those though, as that seemed to be lacking a bit in what I watched.
I want to read this Ergo Proxy side story manga, but I have to rewatch the show first. The first time I watched it, I picked up purely because it hot moody goth chick as the MC.
>>2887 I mean she does look kinda cute despite the whole strange edginess look of the show haven't watched it yet myself because it was always recommended by the most pretentious faggots who don't seem to know what fun is >>2842 Sounds kinda cool and makes sense for a mecha setting, but a bit slow if there wasn't much action in 7 episodes. >pic nighttime in 90s anime feels like such a different animal compared to now
>>2892 It does have a pretentious air about it. Really though, it's just a solid sci-fi mystery thriller.
>>2892 >Sounds kinda cool and makes sense for a mecha setting, but a bit slow if there wasn't much action in 7 episodes I started watching the anime and there is lot more action in that compared to the initial OVA. Downside is I didn't like some of the VA changes, but overall I have been enjoying it (I am about 26 episodes into it now). Once I finish those I have to see how the movie timeline differs as that has me curious.
Just watched Tanya the Evil to see if that was all hype or not. I was iffy after the first episode but I'm glad I kept watching since it got better or at least grew on me more. The premise of world war but with magic is simple but neat, and I like how determined she is to be a shitter to whatever god they all worship in that universe. Only major complaint is that I flew through it pretty quickly. Next up is the movie that I still need to go download.
>>3097 Just watched the movie. Commie killing edition was great. I liked it more than the anime. Mary Sue being op as fuck was annoying and if it were not for magic jesus saving her all the time, she deserved to die for being such a dumbshit. They chose the appropriate name for her though. I heard the anime is likely getting something new this year or beginning of the next so I am looking forward to that.
Finished a few more shows since I've been stuck in a bed due to medical bs. >MS IGLOO I liked it for the most part. I appreciate the smaller stories being the focus. The graphics for the first 2 parts looking like old game CGI were also strangely nice. The theme of almost everyone always dies got a bit tiring, but it made the end of the second part better when the last reveal is done. The third part focusing on Federation stuff this time was a good change, and they amped up the graphics, but the death god thing was fucking dumb and out of place. >War in the Pocket Another Gundam show in a row since I am watching the series from start to finish. I got this one spoiled for me a bit as I saw anons talking about the MC crying at the end. Even though Bernie got mulched, I'm glad his one takedown was against a Gundam when he was in a simple Zaku. >Stardust Memory This one I liked the supporting cast more than the MC and Nina. Those two were annoying. Giant lady and sexual assault man were entertaining. Burning's death was lame though. Cliche/predictable as fuck so that kind of ruined that part for me. The new MSs introduced were pretty cool though. Ending was kinda eh. Having their final showdown interrupted so he could suicide into some random ships was gay. I get the reasoning but I didn't like it. >Hellsing Ultimate One I have wanted to get to for a while. I enjoyed it. Seras is still my favorite character in it. Anderson is a close second I wish he survived. My only complaint is how quickly the plot moves along. I don't normally suggest this, but it could have done with a few filler episodes to flesh out the character relationships a bit so you got more invested. Especially for those that don't make it to the end. >Zeta Gundam Only two episodes in for this. What in the god damn is wrong with Kamille. I can't tell if he is just intensely autistic or actually retarded. Maybe both. Seeing the Titan dildos slap around Bright makes me hope the man gets his classic slap attack restored later for payback. Also I appreciate the red Zeon looking guy whose name I forget, actually cares about not destroying the colony or needlessly harming people. Most of the other shows have both sides being way too gungho about blasting the shit out of them. I also hope he fugs up those Titan dicks. Slapping the shit out of Bright has annoyed me greatly. >08th Team Genuinely enjoyed it throughout. Karen comes close initially to being disliked, but she was fine by the end. That fight with the Ace Gouf Custom was awesome. Definitely up there for one of my favorite gundam fight scenes. My only complaint again is how it is over so soon. I would have gladly watched more of it.
>>3559 Watched a bunch more of Zeta. Almost everyone on that show is fucking brain damaged in some way. Also the focus on Newtypes has made me rapidly grow to hate said newtypes. Oldtypes really are the best type.
>>3567 Finished Zeta. It got better towards the end, but the newtype stuff treading into full blown super space magic was ruining it for me. I didn't mind it in the original Gundam when it wasn't this powerful. Hell I didn't mind the suits with the psychic pilot connections either since again it was on the lower end of the fantasy powers. Forming magic shields and harnessing the lives/energy around them to power up just felt really over the top, so I hope they scale that back in the next part though I doubt they will. Also I don't entirely get why Kamille went vegetable mode at the end. Did he exhaust himself or was he really mind raped into oblivion by the baddie before that nigger died? Next up I moved onto: >ZZ Gundam I don't know what to make of this yet as I am only one episode in. Seems much lighter in tone even if that one crew member got killed off. Also fucking Bright can't catch a break with all the bs he has to put up with. Poor dude.
>>3582 Still working through ZZ. I appreciate that it is not nearly as miserable as Zeta was, but it does get too lighthearted at times. Last bunch of episodes were getting more serious so I will have to see how this progresses or if it will revert to silly shit again. I also learned a valuable lesson with this. Don't watch the next episode previews. Announcing that a specific character fucking dies next episode is not something you put in a preview. Show them in trouble sure, but you don't spoil it like that. What the fuck. Also does Zeon ever get tired of fucking dropping colonies on shit? I've heard the jokes about it, but I never realized how accurate they were. Niggers need to come up with some new material.
>>3632 Onto Chars counterattack. About half way through. Glad to see Amuro again as the MC, but disappointed Char is back to being a shit though. Also the teal haired little cunt needs to fucking die. I dislike every moment she is on the screen.
>>3638 I really enjoyed this. Doubly so when that annoying teal shit died. Shame her killer then got TK'd by a retarded kid. I also appreciate that they didn't kill off Mirai and her daughter. It really seemed like they were setting her up to get squashed. Question though: What the hell happened at the end. Did Amuro and Char survive? Or did they turn into the magic sparkle shit that moved the Axis? The one zeon lady crying more seemed to imply they died, but it ends before really confirming anything. The pyschoframe/whatever that little thing Amuro's gf had that was zipping around space had me confused too. Questions aside, I liked the zeon and feddies joining together at the end, but I was not a fan of how vague the ending is left for Amuro. >>3632 >Zeon ever get tired of fucking dropping colonies on shit? After watching this, no they clearly do not.
>>3639 >Did Amuro and Char survive? Or did they turn into the magic sparkle shit that moved the Axis? Very dead. >The pyschoframe/whatever that little thing Amuro's gf had that was zipping around space had me confused too. Both your first question & this come back in Unicorn. Basically though it's just a magic plot device.
>>3641 >Very dead. A shame. Though Amuro was probably too OP to let live. He was pretty much solo'ing zeon at that point. >Gundam Unicorn I will have to watch that next. I at least want to finish the UC Gundam stuff before I move on to something new. My friend was suggesting Fang of the Sun, anyone here check that one out before?
>>3649 >Fang of the Sun I'm gonna probably watch it soon. Looks good and am so excited that I got some model kits for the anime lol! Also wanna watch Xabungle and Space Runaway Ideon.
>>3649 Amuro at least goes out a hero for the entire planet. Yeah as far as UC stuff goes your next big stop should be Unicorn. For other mecha recommendations you'll have to give an idea of what you're looking for. More real robot war is hell series or super robot power of friendship?
>>3653 >I'm gonna probably watch it soon Post your thoughts here as you go along. I'll try to watch alongside you. >I got some model kits for the anime Yeah I looked up the show a bit the other day when I heard about it and the mech models look cool. Gives me Battletech vibes. >>3654 >Amuro at least goes out a hero for the entire planet Very true. I guess my main disappointment was that I just wanted to see more of him. I haven't really been enjoying the MCs in the other Gundam shows outside of a few so that was probably why. >For other mecha recommendations you'll have to give an idea of what you're looking for. More real robot war is hell series or super robot power of friendship I'm not entirely sure yet. Outside of Gundam I actually haven't watched many shows with mecha content. Gundam and Patlabor are the only two I can recall off the top of my head. If you could give me a sampling of some across the spectrum, I could see which ones get my interest.
>>3659 >Gives me Battletech vibes. Probably a reason for that.
>>3661 Oh wow, I had no idea it was involved in that bs. Now I want to watch it more.
>>3663 This vid might explain some stuff if you care: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=_tkyK6eUeYU
>>3671 Cool, I'll check it out.
5 episodes into Unicorn Gundam. Started off disliking it, but it is growing on me. Store Brand knockoff Char made me laugh when I saw him. His name being FULL FRONTAL didn't help that. Next episode seems to be about him, so hopefully I can take him seriously after that. Not sure how I feel about the rest of the supporting cast yet. Marcenas or however you spell his name, seemed like a good dude. The princess was good too. Also funnels are OP as fuck still. Poor grunt suits just get wrecked left and right. The ECOAS/whatever their name was guys had a cool MS that turned into a tank that I liked. They always turned into jets before so a tank was a refreshing change even if it got destroyed right away.
>>3702 4 episodes to go then I finished it. Full Frontal is still an eh character. Feels over hyped for what little he has done so far. Marcenas/whatever went completely off the deep end so that sucks as I liked him initially. The ECOAS and zeon guys were pretty cool so I'm glad they all ended up teaming together. Oh and it was good to see Bright actually get some degree of respect for once. That man deserves MC treatment at some point for all the bullshit and retardation he has to manage. It was nice to see him still keeping Amuro in his memory too. On the topic of old characters, Kai popping up to help was unexpected. Though I guess he has done it before so I should have known he might do it again. I'm glad they keep some old characters around instead of just randomly fucking them off to some random place where they are never heard from again. Now onto MSs. I really like the zaku replacement for this show. Really classy looking grunt suit. The marine variant with the claws was badass looking too. The Banshee and the Unicorn Gundams look dumb to me. I like the ideas behind them, but the actual designs are lame and kind of ugly. Also seeing the old grunt suits show up for that port battle was neat. A shame that went how pretty much anyone could predict though.
>>3707 Just finished it. Really mixed on the ending. Something that seems to be a trend with this series. Not sure why I can't get over the space magic shit newtypes can do. I have no problem with it being in something like 40K, but here it just feels out of place to me. Characters were kinda eh, and apart from laughing at Full Frontal's name, I doubt I will remember any after a bit of time. Overall, I'd say 7ish out of 10. Maybe a bit of bonus points since I liked some of the MS designs in this.
Just finished Dungeon Meshi. It was great. Kind of disappointed that there wasn't more Farlyn/Falin interacting with everyone after she's revived.
>>3788 Reread the last chapter just now. It really does gloss over all the interactions. You never even see Sureau confess. He just blushes. Also looks like it's finally getting an anime, by Studio Trigger on Netflix. Allegedly the mangaka refused to let it be animated until the manga was near done being published.
>>3104 >>3097 It's too bad they gave the ending away by telling you ahead of time that Tanya will lose. You think it's another case like Death Note where the mangaka was pressured to not let "the bad guy" win?
