Banescholars, I have a question for you. I just noticed CIA in these frames doesn't quite look like the CIA we all know and love, so... Is this a stunt double, or is Aidan Gillen's nose really that big? I don't expect a swift reply, so I'll check back in a few months, maybe next year.

Don't you see? You have spotted a glimpse of the dedication to his craft that Aiden Gillen possesses. See, Bravo Nolan had a vision of a seemless flow of action from shot to shot. To that end he shot Bane's dramatic take-over of the Wreckage Brother in chronological order. Thus the shot where Bane punches CIA in the face was filmed just the night before the shot of CIA falling to the front of the cabin. Understanding full well the seminal achievement that the film that they were shooting was going to be, Mr. Gillen instructed Tom Hardy to actually punch him for the sake of making his own reaction as realistic as possible. Of course, the next morning when the shot of CIA falling was filmed, Mr. Gillen's nose had swollen from the blow that it had sustained the night prior. Makeup did its best to disguise the fact, but you can see from your picture that it was only capable of so much illusion. As magnificently as the punch turned out, the film owes a debt of gratitude to Aiden Gillen for the pain that he endured to make it happen.
