basically, /newbrit/ eventually split into two and then three servers because of server admins that refuse to allow people into their server that they don't like. so, you get this cancerous web where person A refuses to be in a server with person B and person C refuses to be in a server with person D, and it ends up creating schisms and you get tiny, inactive, slow, boring servers that die eventually. bongoism is actually a cancer and it ultimately destroyed /newbrit/. the only format to keep a community like this alive is an imageboard for several reasons
>bans are unenforceable, people can just ban evade, therefore everybody is allowed. population/activity are not hard-limited
>low barrier to ppost- everybody that has the link can always find the board and make a shitpost or two. whereas bongoland you need an account and an invite. this means that a bongoland has no influx of new or returning posters, it can only slowly bleed to nothing
>it's less glowy and frankly it's just tradition, bongoland is dirty, gross, IM-style

yeah basically. bins has the emotional development of a child and occasionally throws multiple-day destructive tantrums when something doesn't go this way. in this case I refused to ban somebody at his request so he left the server I run (where the core tenet is no banfaggotry in a failed attempt to unify/preserve the community)
