🇱🇹🇺🇦Lithuanian Povilas Limontas joined the international Legion in early March. The former bartender lasted about a month and returned to Lithuania on April 7.
He did not name the reason for his return, but judging by an interview with TIME magazine, constant exposure to shelling and rare sleep did not suit him. As a preparation for combat, Limontas, who served in the army, only tried to shoot at targets with an AK-47, after which he was sent on missions. Here 's how he describes one of them:
We came as reinforcements and shot a little, but after a while we had to run, because one thing I learned in Lithuania is that if you are shooting at the Russians, you only have 10 minutes before they send artillery. The fight lasted five or ten minutes, but in my head it was like five seconds.
After returning to his homeland, the former mercenary set out to appear in the media more often and remind people about donations for the army.
