In a rare stroke of intelligence Adult Swim finally does something worthwhile. Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Venture Bros, and Metalocalypse are all getting movies >The new Metalocalypse movie, from co-creators Brendon Small and Tommy Blancha, follows the power-hungry Tribunal as they unveil their secret and deadly “Falconback Project”. This is against a backdrop of a world which is growing embattled in chaos with the menacing Doomstar breaching the Earth’s atmosphere. Meanwhile, the mysterious and twisted dissent of a band member threatens the future of Dethklok. Picking up directly after the heroic rescue of Toki Wartooth: Can Dethklok choose between their egos and the greater good of the world to embark on a gauntlet of dangers that will try their very souls and finally write the song that will be their salvation? >In the The Venture Bros. movie, Doc’s latest invention will either bankrupt the Ventures or launch them to new heights, as Hank searches for himself, Dean searches for Hank, The Monarch searches for answers, and a mysterious woman from their pasts threatens to bring their entire world crashing down on them. >Aqua Teen Hunger Force will be a continuation of the hit animated series, whereby fans will find out what happens next with Frylock, Meatwad and Master Shake, who consider themselves crime fighters, but the truth is they never fight crime. https://archive.is/0ViSF
>>12843 ABOUT FUCKING TIME It's been almost a decade since Doomstar. I just want a proper ending.
Oh please anon don't get my hopes up like th- >click archive >it's real >IT'S REALLY REAL WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS YEAR?
That's nice but I doubt those movies will be actually good.
>>12846 It's going to be Samurai Jack season 5, where despite being alright everyone is going to agree for an ending it was pretty much the most underdeveloped thing ever because AS wouldn't give Genndy 2-3 more episodes.
(23.10 KB 337x270 rockso 2.jpg)

>>12845 i cant fucking wait, i need to see the end of metalocalypse in my lifetime.
>>12843 >Aqua Teen Hunger Force >are all getting movies Sequel ahoy!
Hopefully this ATHF movie will get the cartoon network management canned too.
>>12844 I just want to be as good as Doomstar, but it's current year, so I doubt it will be.
>>12843 >VB So they gave them the same option as EEnE? End it with a high note?
(249.92 KB 625x340 baboon tree.png)

>>12848 >Samurai Jack season 5, where despite being alright It was awful; it had so many contradictions to seasons 1-4 to the point it was pointless as a "sequel"/proper ending, not to mention it had some really bad writing like making Aku' daughters literally his daughters instead of just figuratively Epilogue tier. In hindsight, the change in art style was a red flag. Season 5 should've been about fulfilling the Guardian' prophecy and Jack and Scotsman defeating Aku together instead of the forced dumb baboon girl.
>>12959 Cool your jets faggot, even if they wanted to use the old art style they couldn't because the studio/ people that used to animate the show are either gone or retired. They had to go to the French just to find competent animators that mimic do the old style. Plus its already known that the whole season was rushed because AS cut them short a couple episodes, Genndy was supposed to have 12 to 15 but they cut him off at 10. Hell the whole reason the video game exists was to give people more content and retcon the ending.
>>12973 Idiot, change in art style always means change in direction as well. It's not like SJ had complexed art style, the new art style is in fact more detailed than the older one. DCAU got movie in 2019, the animation was shit of course but that's because they had shoestring budget. >rushed Are you illiterate? I clearly said that SJ season 5 was fundamentally bad. Only lazy morons who forgot and didn't bother to rewatch season 1-4 like Genndy the hack, think that the only problem with season 5 is it being rushed. Jack already killed human in the original series when bunch of mercenaries went after him and he didn't give damn. There was also reoccurring theme in the original series in which "women are distraction that stand in his way to complete his journey": Ikra, Josephine Clench, Spring and the Sirens. In addition, Jack already has love interest, childhood friend who is a noble Japanese girl, an actual fitting bride for the next Japan' Emperor. To concluded, baboon girl addition was a mistake that contradict the series and just added more to the shit that was season 5. Another contradiction worthwhile mentioning is Jack' parents are young though they should've been old. Worst of all was the dead Guardian which was a middle finger to those who actually care about continuity which was useless season 5 whole point!

>>12843 >Metalocalypse I wonder if the movie is going to follow the Galaktikon II story, since is heavily hinted that the album is a continuation of Doomstar
(234.72 KB 630x855 The Monarch.jpg)

I just hope the Monarch gets the good ending he deserves
>>12990 Or maybe you're just extremely autistic Anon.
>fuck up and let lazzo cancel all your good shows because he's 'tired of them' or something >lazzo quits >realize no-one watches your remaining shows anymore and your 90's stoner credentials are gone >realize you just approved birdgirl without doing due diligence and everyone hates it and it's dead on arrival >hurriedly greenlight three movies of the 'classics' to try and save the brand >the creator of metalocalypse hates you, the talent behind ATHF has disbanded and is all doing their own shit and the VA for frylock hates you too I cannot see this working.
>>13173 I mean arching someone sounds like what a sibling would do. If they go for total closure I wouldn't be surprised if he just gives up at some point and gets over it, in theme with the show's theme of failure >>13174 Come to think of it this really sounds more like a last-ditch effort for adult swim since television's dead and the last successful thing they cancelled good shows for (Rick & Morty) is also losing popularity. >and the VA for frylock hates you too Because ATHF was his main gig or something else?
>>13176 Afaik he got $2k per episode and no royalties.
>>13174 Also Schoolly D hates them because they reneged on an agreement where he would get the rights back to the ATHF theme song after 5 years.
>>13174 It most likely won't. Adult Swim has severely fucked itself over this time. Hinson's firing and Venture Brother's getting canned upset a lot of their longtime viewers. I don't even expect Squidbillies to continue without Unkown. But, hey! They still have The Jellies! >>13176 Carey Means hasn't been doing much since ATHF. Welcome to the Wayne is the only other show he's a VA in.
(18.27 KB 642x400 ClipboardImage.png)

>>13174 They do have Rick and Morty still. Too bad for them that the show's viewership peaked in season 3, and has been on a decline since. On top of it, the show has a baggage of negative connotations associated with it after szechuan sauce debacle and pickle rick mania. Dan Harmon is known to derail his own projects, and Justin Roiland seems to be more interested in doing his own thing now days.
>>13205 If I recall correctly, starting in season 3, they began having on random female writers for each episode for "inclusion". With normalfags' delayed reaction to bad media, it's no surprised they stopped watching as much when season 4 came out.
>>13214 I wouldn't put it past publicity being the main reason season 3 had so many viewers to begin with. That was the Pickle Rick/szechuan sauce season after all. Now someone help me out here, wasn't the premiere for Season 3 slotted over a new Samurai Jack episode without warning, and it pissed everyone off who was expecting the latter instead? Because I vividly remember [as] doing something unbelievably retarded like that back when SJ was on and it lines up with that chart's numbers.
>>13215 yes they did
>>13174 You forgot they're now scooping and serving leftovers from failed tumblr cartoons, (ex: Tuca and Bertie) >>13180 Not only that, but they virtual signaled by having their personal slaves to shout "vote for Biden" in some retarded podcast, also the main nig who created the Boondock got blacklisted for questioning the retardness of BLM. >>13205 They peaked during season 1, the second season is when they squeezed out the last drop of shitposting creativity, 3rd would become their answer to Zombie Simpsons.
>>13205 Well, the Tumblrinas were able to #SaveTucaAndBertie on Twitter and even went as far as to make a Change petition after [AS] canceled it. And [AS] had to cuck.
>>13231 >questioning the retardness of BLM. Hopefully he shits on both with the Boondocks revival on HBO.
(1.69 MB 328x182 blkcosbymagicwiener.gif)

>>13231 Burress is a cunt. He sold Bill Cosby down the river to improve his own social media clout. Now, obviously, Dr. Cosby shouldn't have been shagging doped up women, but I'm still not sold on whether or not they were actually drugged or just looking for a payday. But Burress profited off that shit and deserves to be outed as a monster, himself.
(4.80 MB 480x360 blk boondocks MLK.webm)

>>13240 >on HBO. Oh fuck, here comes the woke. Too bad.
>>13240 Aaron is going to hit them right in the bussy. He can get away with more shit on HBO than Adult Swim.
>>13235 >Tuca and Bertie died again Oh shit, I'll miss their "literally me" "I'm an unfuckable piece of shit" roastie humor. Unless you're referring the time they got shitcanned on Netflix.
>>13279 I still keep thinking it was Adult Swim and not Netflix for some reason.
Also here are my predictions before anything else gets announced/leaked: >Venture Bros <It'll be okay (but nowhere near as good as the better seasons) and tie up most loose ends story-wise >ATHF Colon Second Film For Theatres Streaming Services <It'll be shit and hopefully get management fired >Metalocalypse <The music will be terrific and the animation will be improved over Doomstar, but the writing will be more serious and less enjoyable compared to it
>>13313 >the better seasons What do you mean? As far as I concern, seasons 1-4 were the best. There was a decline when the show shifted from comedy to being more serious drama and I couldn't stand Sargent Hatred in season 5, he was so annoying.
>>12959 Honestly I don't know why they haven't offered Primal a movie deal (season 2 and then movie). If you hyped that bitch up it would sell.

Trailer is here. Movie comes out in August
I'm not sure if the Venture Bros trailer was posted anywhere in another thread so I'll just do it here too. This one comes out July 21.
>>34869 Hey alright! Thanks anon!
>>34869 Looking forward to it but I don't think they'll have enough time to wrap everything up at once.
(165.30 KB 404x256 Pickles.png)

>>34868 >All that is good will be dead >Shows Rockso spirit leabing his body Thank fucking Christ, it looks good

>>34868 And just like that, my soul was revived by the power of Metal. I long await this day.
(19.21 KB 400x400 Me at school.jpg)

>>34887 Do vidya gaem osts count?
>>34868 Holy shit this is the sex. That's amazing, Adult Swim should make a movie about every show they have about every 2 to 3 years, I loved seeing Enter Florpus and having more TV movies would really be great for my entertainment.
The Venture Bros movie is out. >The Venture Bros Radiant Is The Blood Of The Baboon Heart
>>35556 Any good?
>>35583 I'll find out tomorrow. I'll be streaming it on 8chan.tv so I'll post a link there when I start.
>>35583 Easily the best piece of warner content in nearly 20 fucking years.
>>35556 Should've been: >Neither Of Us Will Be Virgin
>>35583 It's very good. On par with best episodes of the show and the best of all VB movies and specials. It manages to tie most things up and does not feel rushed. Doctor Morpheus is in it too as a part of the main cast. It's been two seasons since he got any meaningful time.
>>35583 Great film. Although by the end it becomes a set up for another season. I won't hold out much hope it's announced but they did make this movie in the first place so maybe it could happen.
>>35627 >>35632 Nice, I'll give it a watch I'm so fucking giddy for Metalocalypse as well.
>>35672 Starting.
Fun movie.
>>35674 Yeah, felt like a good ending, even if some of the plot elements were lost on me because I haven't seen the series.
>>35690 >I haven't seen the series. Then of course it's all lost on you. Go watch it. It's good. You shouldn't have watched the movie otherwise because none of the reveals mean anything to you.
>>12990 >Jack already killed human in the original series when bunch of mercenaries went after him and he didn't give damn. Name the episode, faggot. I bet they were either robots, or just involved in explosions or other off-screen deaths that could easily be interpreted as resulting in cartoon injury. >Jack already has love interest, childhood friend who is a noble Japanese girl, an actual fitting bride for the next Japan' Emperor. Baboon girl doesn't mesh with this just as much as Jack falling for genderbent Aku doesn't.
>>35695 He's talking about Jack and The Bounty Hunters. Jack seemingly killed them all except for the last lady.
>>34887 I know several local bands.
>>35696 In the end they're face down in the snow, but every time he delivers a sword blow to their bodies, there's a metal sound, implying he hits in areas with armor, even the African dude who's barely clothed where the slash clearly goes over his groin. You can argue it's meant to be up to interpretation since you couldn't get away with that on kids' television, but it's never definitely clear.
>>35006 >I loved seeing Enter Florpus Eh, I didn't love it. The bonding moment with Dib's dad felt out of character and it was really weird seeing Dib turn brown even though no time as passed in-universe just because Jhonen Vasquez self inserts as Dib and he turned brown when he got older.

>>34868 >>34885 >>34891 Venture Bros getting a good movie I can believe. But Metalocalypse? The network shat all over the creators and the creators hate them right the fuck back to the point of refusing to work with them. How did this come to be?
>>35701 >point of refusing to work with them. How did this come to be? That's where the monkey's paw comes in.
>>35701 >>35720 I had a dream about these posts where the monkey's paw wish of the Metalocalypse movie coming out was granted by Nathan Explosion not appearing in it and there being no drumming even though he's not the drummer.
I saw the new ATHF movie, it was alright. had nowhere near the edge it used to tho
If these do well, what do you think will get a movie next?
>>35767 Lucy daughter of the devil, Home movies, sealab 2021, and finally....Lol no none of these cause AS sucks ass for a living
>>35767 12 OZ Mouse
>>35776 Yeah thatd be cool.

>>35672 I got it. Streaming Doomstar Requiem right now first to catch up, then going for Army.

>>36208 That was excellent. Would have finished sooner if Lazzo wasn't such a dick but it is a great way to finish the series. There's a tribute to Jon Schnepp at the end, he helped direct half the eps of S1 and voiced Twinkletits. The music is more synthesizer heavy than other Dethklok works, I suspect an influence of the musicians that Brendon worked with, King Diamond and the like. The Song of Salvation is up there with The Galaxy for me, a highlight. The lore was also wrapped up a little bit. So Salacia comes from a different race, being called the Half-Man. That race is called the Krakish I think, meaning Mustakrakish the Lake Troll is of the same race but was put asleep under the lake in Finland before Dethklok woke him up. Falconback was a project to build a superconductor and connect it with a rocket to either launch Salacia up to the Doomstar to open the Portal to his world or use the Superconductor to move the Doomstar closer to earth. But yeah, glad the series is finished now. That was a decade's long waiting game to see whither they actually would. Dethklok goes on tour now till October, so look forward to that and the 2 albums, the movie soundtrack and Dethalbum 4 coming out.

>>36234 Yo, new Murmaider. Songs are up on Youtube now.
>>36234 Thanks meng
Got around to Army of the Doomstar I think Doomstar Requiem was better but this was still pretty good, those 6 episodes they asked would have made a big difference, though they crammed everything they wanted in there so that was pretty cool. Everything related to Abigail still sucks, that meta talk right at the end was fun and heartwarming. It was a nice sendoff, I'm glad it was made and that we got a conclusion.
>>36262 Truly what I had been waiting a decade for.
(284.32 KB 720x511 dude dude dude.png)

>>36263 I just hope that's the case with Venture Bros', considering they pulled out the show from HBO Max so you'll have to stick with Hulu, both sites never had the Christmas Special and the mockumentary episode by the way: Must be some risqué jokes that nobody noticed.
