>>8894 >>8895 This has no business being called a Batman movie.
(453.60 KB 706x533 Ew.png)

>>8894 >>8895 Wow, the animation is fucking atrocious, it's so choppy and crude, they move like slow robots. Not that I had any expectations for this movie. >>8898 Don't you know DC is all about Batwank these days no matter how ridiculous or little sense does it make? This movie was probably made to pander to hipsters and boomers.
>>8906 Batwank has been a thing for decades now. This is just straight up a completely unfitting film for him to be in. Let alone giving him the title name.
>>8915 But that's the thing, DC slaps Batman on anything they think won't sell because they know the Batcult will shovel anything with Baman on it down their gaping gullet.
>>8915 >This is just straight up a completely unfitting Not necessarily if we're going by older versions of the Bat.
>>8918 I'm not even sure a Batcult still exists anymore. Maybe because they've been replaced by the Snyder cult that think his movies are the best things ever & he could do no wrong. For some fucking reason. >>8919 It doesn't fit when his co-stars not only have no problem with killing but the style of film is more of James Bond meets Bruce Lee. Brave & the Bold had an episode that did this kind of premise with Bronze Tiger a lot better because it was still Batman focused with Batman villains.
>>8921 Some idiots think murder bat should be a thing.
>>8921 <I'm not even sure a Batcult still exists anymore Nigga... Snydershit got its obligatory SHF and MAFEX and that's pretty much it. I doubt kids gave damn about the Snyder figures not that anyone with taste would care about most Mattel releases regardless of source material . Meanwhile, general Batwank have been keep going strong on 2020 and probably will continue in 2021 as well. The examples I gave are probably not even half of all the Batwank toys released last year. t. toyfag
>>8953 I mean you got me on the toys department. However cheap & easy to mass produce they are. >>8952 I don't think Batman killing is good or bad inherently. The problem is that the core of the character is not being a killer. The version that Snyder blatantly is trying to emulate doesn't kill despite what Zack claims. It also doesn't make any sense if he's perfectly fine with killing but DOESN'T kill Joker, Harley, Deadshot, or Killer Croc.
>>8954 Toys unlike movies and shows are 100% profit, because you can't download them yet . >However cheap & easy to mass produce they are There are expensive toys aimed for adult collectors that can cost 60$+ either way, toys are fun including playline ones, no need to be snob about it .
>>8955 Nigga McFarlane toys are incredibly cheap & ugly. Do you not see these terrible sculpts & paint apps? If that's your standard for collectible toys then I don't trust you with money.
>>8961 >McFarlane toys >expensive toys aimed for adult collectors that can cost 60$+ Are you illiterate?
>>8965 You didn't post any other action figures but McFarlane.
>>8968 I guess the answer to my question is yes, work on your reading comprehension. <You didn't post any other action figures It's clear you have no actual knowledge about toys, no wonder you moron thought Batcult doesn't exist anymore.

When she finally did get into the Uber car she was rude and condescending to him the whole journey then right at the end she cancelled her Uber car ride so he wouldn't get paid. At this point she pulled out her camera and started recording and playing dumb, all in an attempt to get him to hit her so she could sue. This was an attempt at fraud aimed at the guy.

>>22364 > At this point she pulled out her camera and started recording and playing dumb, all in an attempt to get him to hit her so she could sue. This was an attempt at fraud aimed at the guy. Honestly, that's how it sounds in the animation, as well. The animator does his level best to make her seem like the victim of a madman (and white, for some fucking reason), but it was pretty clear who the real villain was. Bonus points for stealing John Kricfalusi's style for the driver but leaving the "victim" as a calarts escapee. What he should have done was drive her into the woods and beat her to death with her own phone.

>>27501 Wonder If the comic book version was any better (Carol as Captain Marvel, not Ms Marvel.
>>27523 Carol has always been fucking shit, the only positive influence she had was being in a fucking coma so Rogue could have her flight.
>>27523 They made her Captain Marvel purely because of feminist messaging. They did it as part of making her a terrible character. She was a well enough liked character for decades previous, as Ms. Marvel, even after Mar-Vell died. Because yes, it could have made sense in-universe for her to take on the mantle after Mar-Vell, but instead it was established that she had her own identity. By taking that away from her and instead mashing her into the male hero's role, they're just saying that his role was always better, instead of the previous message that she was good enough on her own. Seems like that should be what makes feminists angry. But then they're never informed about the things they ruin, they just know that if it exists and they didn't already like it, then it's evil and they must destroy it. >>27524 But also this. She was never a terribly engaging character to begin with, and her most notable story is one where she is only a bit of extra characterization for Rogue, a much better character. But I thought there were no female superheroes, and icky male comic fans didn't like female characters! So why was Rogue such a popular character for so many decades? The only thing they could do to make Danvers a good character now is to make her a Parallax-tier universal-threat supervillain, and do a big event where people finally stand up against her and the story finally acknowledges all the terrible, murderous, totalitarian things she's done. Tony Stark and Rogue need to team up to get her absorbed again, and The SJW version of The Champions need to resign their team and identities out of shame for being her child soldier brownshirts. Maybe you could make Kamala Khan a good character too by having the story acknowledge that she and her teammates were evil, but they were also child soldiers, and thus perhaps could be redeemed, after a long road to redemption in a world that justifiably hates and fears them. They want to do the X-Men bit? Fine, do that, only now acknowledge that the hatred and fear is completely justified after what they've done. Actually, the actual X-Men need that done now too. But they're so fucked I don't even know how you could try to fix them. They already wasted the "versions from the past from before they were evil come to the future" thing, so they can't just alt-timeline this away anymore.
>>27560 >They made her Captain Marvel purely because of feminist messaging. Not entirely true. Danvers as Captain serves the dual purpose of both retaining the Captain Marvel trademark and giving the MCU a shillable female character that wasn't already tied up in film deals with other studios. The feminist messaging might as well be a bonus, though it clearly doesn't seem to help her ongoing maintaing enough sales to avoid being rebooted into a new volume.
>>27562 They had been finding other ways to keep publishing books called "Captain Marvel" for decades. But they did it to Carol specifically as part of making a feminist point. And if they weren't retarded they could have just done more with Black Widow in the MCU, since people actually liked her. Instead they had to ruin her with feminism as well. They could have done She-Hulk, instead of ruining her with feminism. They could have done lots of things. They could have done a good version of Carol Danvers, but apparently that isn't what they were going for.

>>27848 >he's going out of his way to just fuck with kids. Exactly.
>>27846 Deathstroke should not be that powerful. He's a skilled assassin. Things like Identity Crisis where he beats the whole Justice League are just bullshit. He should be Batman-tier at best. And I figure the combined forces of The New Teen Titans are just about equal or slightly superior to Batman.
>>27861 Deathstroke's advantage is his durability & strength on his own but his crutch is always weapons. Of course he's gonna get tossed around by several super powered teenagers without them.
>>27868 >>27861 Deathstroke from the comics is literally beyond any stretch of imagination superhuman. Granted, comics are fucking stupid so it's up to whoever is writing them at the time, which is how you get certain stories where punisher uses a sword that can only be used by the pure of heart to kill god. So for a character who has also assassinated a god, it makes sense that his power level would be dialed back for the show, which just brings up a question: what are the stakes ever? In comics, it seems like there's no actual limit to an asspull that can happen, so how is anyone meant to be invested in these characters when you know that no matter how much you scrutinize there's going to be some made up solution to the problem they write for themselves because "there isn't anything established that says this character couldn't do this"
>>27917 To be fair that's a problem with a lot of comic characters. Hell I vaguely recall a comic where Batman fights the justice league(sans superman) and his 6-billion IQ plan was literally "Ok the flash is the fastest guy so I'll just trip him and then knock him out, and then the rest are easy pickings".
>>27917 That's why these comic book based shows were actually better than comics themselves. Because they would actually set limitations for all the characters. Sure surviving an inescapable death is one thing but there's nothing like absolute bullshit plot armor that makes everyone invulnerable unbeatable machines. Unlike comics where Deathstroke or fucking Catwoman can beat The Flash.
>>27917 Some stories in any medium or genre are badly written, or feature elements that are badly written. That doesn't mean all are. You're complaining about bad writing, which is always possible, but it isn't ubiquitous.
>>27923 Bad writing in comics is a big problem when it's a capeshit shared universe where one writer can ruin a character forever.

>>27924 Until recently, no characters have been ruined forever. There have been plenty of bad stories and bad runs, but later ones always managed to still be enjoyable. Many times they even took the bad elements and used them as the foundation for good stories later. And I only say "until recently" because I can't imagine how the X-Men can ever be fixed. Then again, they're still in the process of being ruined. If the industry survives long enough, then they can theoretically still be fixed. >>27937 That makes no sense. She isn't more naval themed than before. If anything she is even more air themed than before.
>>27966 Unlike with movies, as that one autist loves to use as comparison, mainline comics are all connected & exist together. So one bad run or storyline is a forever stain on the character. They can outright retcon or reboot events & history sure but it all still happened canonically. That's the problem. Whereas with indies at least you're able to ignore a bad comic that won't ruin the experience of a good comic just because it's published by the same company.
>>27967 The post you're replying to already discusses things that contradict your claim, and you just plain ignore them. You're not gonna convince anyone that way, Anon. Your claim about movies also makes no sense. Tons of movies exist in long running series. You think each Star Trek movie is a different continuity?
>>28005 Wow you didn't understand anything I said. The point is autistic capeshit anon loves to say movie sequels don't render the original movie bad. But I'm saying it's not a fair comparison because comics don't operate on that same logic of just erasing or ignoring a sequel in canon like movies do. Something like Halloween having like 3-4 different continuity branches isn't the same as Spider-man comics running for decades with terrible stories over & over destroying the good ones before or after.
>>28006 It's exactly the same. The original Halloween has eight continuity-sequels (meaning I'm discounting Season of the Witch). The fact that they're in two or three different continuities doesn't negate that. Most of those sequels are terrible. But if Curse of Michael Myers doesn't make the original bad, and doesn't prevent them from making good sequels later (there is nothing in H2O that actually requires it to be a different continuity than 4, 5, and 6, either. The original draft even referenced 6 before they decided it would be simpler to just not remind the audience), then why does random issue of Spider-Man make another random issue of Spider-Man bad, or even more bizarrely, make the first issue of Spider-Man bad? Also, notably, even with different continuities, the series makes good use of callbacks to previous entries that might not even be canon to the current film. The 2018 movie is full of references to previous films, sometimes even taking old concepts and doing them again, trying to do them better, like the doctor trying to control Michael, as in Curse. Because in-universe continuity isn't all there is to continuity. And comics do the same thing all the time, remaking old stories to flesh them out or fix concepts that didn't work quite right. Why would it be okay for one to do it and not the other? You say because they have different continuity structures, but then Halloween is the worst example you could have used, since its multiple continuities are somewhat analogous to things like DC's multiverse. Especially with some things being canon to multiple continuities, and some entries basically being remakes that fix old concepts. And I like Halloween so I humored you, but you didn't address the point. Star Trek is a series known for tight continuity. Even if we ignore the alternate timeline, even if we ignore the later series, we can just look at the original cast material. People hate Star Trek V. Nobody thinks it ruins Wrath of Khan. Hell, a lot of people don't even like The Motion Picture (even though it's the best one), but they still like Wrath of Khan. See, here's your problem. You don't read comics and have a fundamental misunderstanding of how they work. And you show it with this quote. >it's not a fair comparison because comics don't operate on that same logic of just erasing or ignoring a sequel in canon like movies do. That is precisely how comics work. Plenty of stories have been ignored later, relegated to nothing but trivia and cameos, because people didn't like them. And they literally do erase things sometimes, more than movies do. Sometimes even big important stories end up getting downplayed until they can be ignored, if people don't like them. Or sometimes they take those concepts and make them better. Like Emerald Twilight/Zero Hour. People hated that Hal Jordan became evil, so they went out of their way to make him a good guy again and make it justified and believable. And they could have just killed Parallax after and been done with it, and never spoke of it again, but instead they took the concept and made it better, and it lead to the most popular Green Lantern stories ever. Or for another example, there is The Outsider from Batman. He was Batman's big nemesis for an extended arc in the '60s, and then they found out he was Alfred with a broken brain, and they cured him and vowed to never speak of it again. And they never did, except one story 40 years later where Batman realized the Nightwing he was talking to wasn't the real one, because in order to prove himself he mentioned The Outsider, something only the two of them knew about, but Batman recognized that the real Dick vowed never to speak of it again, and therefore must be a fake. I don't need to go into this much detail, but it's a perfect example of how you can ignore something if you want, but also still use it later if you want. Even if it was bad, you can use it for something good. Or ignore it. Whatever. You don't read comics or even know how their basic story structures work. They're retarded, but not in the ways you think. I also suspect you don't watch movies, since you seem to think that there are no movie series with long running continuities. But go ahead and keep thinking that something that happened on Enterprise in 2005 somehow ruins the original pilot of Star Trek from 1964.
>>28045 Ah there you are. The answer is still no. Simply put, comics are connected. They are canonically just one continuous product line where everything still happens whether or not it's retconned because of sliding timescales or universal resets. No one in their right mind wants to read that kind of crap where nothing matters because there's no end point while simultaneously you have to read everything to understand what's happening.
Can you guys discuss this in the pain thread?, If not you could at least post webms with your posts.

>>34956 >holy crap, marge
>>34956 >>34957 So... If CN had greenlit this crap for like 2 or 3 seasons back in the day, we could have avoided the entirety of Family Guy and Maybe American Dad?
>>34958 Probably. Though Family Guy did start out at least somewhat genuine even if it had the cutaway gag formula from the get go. Peter was actually a well meaning idiot instead of just a literal retard committing absurdly aggressive acts of violence.
>>34959 Peter was originally a guy who watched too much tv and expected life to be like a tv show. This is highlighted most obviously in the second episode, where he knocks out the cable signal to the whole town and then starts literally pretending real life is a TV show, but it's really key to all his stupidity in the first three seasons. He isn't just plain stupid, he's stupid because he expects things to work like on TV, and then they usually don't. He inherits a mansion, but then it sucks because he doesn't have money to pay the servants. He runs for the school board so he can reinstate a wacky teacher that seems like he would be fun on tv, but would actually be very impractical in real life. The point of Family Guy was originally that it was a cartoon but with strangely realistic and mundane elements thrown in. Not the most original concept, that's also what The Simpsons was, not to mention King of the Hill, but for an example of where Family Guy was pioneering, see its naturalistic dialogue. Underage philistines won't understand this, but Family Guy's naturalistic dialogue, full of pauses and stutters and things like that, was groundbreaking at the time. It was funny because it was unlike anything else on tv. It was something you didn't see on tv, but you recognized because you saw it in real life. It wasn't weird, it was just weirdly realistic. Other things like that one gag where Peter hurts his leg and then sighs for way too long were a similar thing. "You can't do that on TV!" The fact that they were even doing it was what was funny, because it actually was new and groundbreaking at the time. It was actually surprising and felt like the show was breaking the rules of tv. The same premise then got extended into those Conway Twitty bits. Now, did they run them into the ground? Certainly, but when that show started, it was clever and original and broke tv conventions in ways nobody had ever seen before, because much of the point of the show was doing a cartoon where sometimes things are actually a lot more like real life than most shows would ever show you, and Peter was the idiot who expected things to be like a tv show. Then in Season 4, after the show was cancelled and brought back, they did an episode where they said Peter was literally medically retarded. That's the jump the shark moment. American Dad did the opposite. It began as a sci-fi version of All in the Family, but by Season 2 or 3 (the show counts seasons weird and different sources list the season count differently) they realized the political shit was awful, so the show just became weird character stuff with a gay alien that plays many different characters, plus his over the top sitcom family. Much dumber on the surface, but a lot less dumb than the cliche bullshit it was at first. It also actually becomes pretty clever and funny, and a lot more experimental than people give it credit for. A whole episode about Cee Lo Green playing a haunted hot tub. A multi season arc about the Meathead-equivalent daughter's boyfriend being abducted by aliens and teaming up with the ghost of Sinbad (the comedian) to get back to Earth. Incredibly complicated lore that appears almost exclusively in the Christmas episodes where they flash forward to a post-apocalyptic future where they're fighting the Anti-Christ, and then later in a present episode that Anti-Christ is born. Other Christmas episodes that sort of tie in with this but are more about them fighting Santa who hates them because they're very naughty, but then the protagonist's dad becomes Krampus and helps them out, and then in later episodes a regularly recurring character is just Krampus now and you're just supposed to roll with it. In one random episode the alien has a disgusting homunculous of a baby, and it seems like a one off joke, but then he's just around in all later episodes, but the show is so weird that if you were watching regularly but missed the episode where he was born, you'd probably just figure it was the show being weird and not realize he actually had an origin. I'm still a few seasons behind, but if your idea of this show is based on the first season or two, when it was just hackneyed political bullshit, then just know that the creators clearly realized that that sucked, and pivoted away from it hard. The episode where they go to Saudi Arabia is the first season finale, and it's the worst episode by far. They seemed to realize that, too.
>>34960 Yeah American Dad at least does a lot of surprising continuity reliant episodes & status quo changes. It's, or I guess was, a lot more of a fun complex show than Family Guy became. They're both essentially dead now though.
Nuts, it ate my other upload. I have found a channel filled with promos for Cartoon Network shows, as a pastanigger I had never seen it before. I am really digging this "dirty" looking style, does anyone know if it's got a proper name? >>34957 >>34958 I am surprised more people didn't know this already, but Seth McFarlane had tried greenlighting a Family Guy like show twice before striking gold. The first one is with the What-A-Cartoon! clip I uploaded (for those who don't know, CN used to run contests that allowed animators to pitch their promos directly to the audience, it's the way Courage the Cowardly Dog was greenlit). This is where the main gimmick of the smart dog and mentally challenged owner comes from, complete with the New England accent. The second one, which is the one most anons know of probably, is The Critic, which is where the skit-based comedy of Family Guy comes from. What I found interesting about The Critic over FG and AD is that the clips interrupting the show make a lot of sense in the context of the show being about a movie reviewer and his experiences with the people around him being ripe for movie-based humor. My guess is that, viewership aside, the clips themselves would have become terribly dated even by the time the series ended, which is different from how Family Guy does things - for every Current Year reference, there's at least a couple of skits that are their own unique thing. Also what >>34959 and >>34960 said, the first couple of seasons of Family Guy were a much bigger parody of television and even had a bit more nuance to all the characters. I'm capping that explanation, I know you have posted this already on some other board. By the way, you didn't mention this, but for some reason Stewie really resonated with a lot of edgy teens despite not really being that important of a character, originally. >>34960 >it was clever and original and broke tv conventions in ways nobody had ever seen before, because much of the point of the show was doing a cartoon where sometimes things are actually a lot more like real life than most shows would ever show you, and Peter was the idiot who expected things to be like a tv show. I feel that the reason why modern cartoons and live action shows are complete garbage is that there are no more risks to be taken. Unless you wanna be anti-politically correct, and even then there are older shows that did it so earnestly and so much better than it's not even worth pursuing for the ten-ish twitter followers standing for you.
Pilot for The Critic
>>34976 >The second one, which is the one most anons know of probably, is The Critic, which is where the skit-based comedy of Family Guy comes from Are you implying that Seth McFlaren had something to do with the creation of The Critic? I searched the wikipedia page, the imdb page and even the credits for the pilot, but found nothing about him being involved. If he had nothing to do with the show, then what was the second way Seth tried to greenlight Family Guy, besides the What-A-Cartoon! clip?
>>34980 Hold on, you're right. I apologize for spreading misinformation, but I distinctly remember reading an article about the cross involvement of people from both shows. Wish there was a way to edit posts to remove the retarded shit I just posted.
>>34976 There were two previous cartoons that became Family Guy, that were basically pilots. One was called The Life of Larry, and the other was called Larry and Steve. I've never seen an official source stating this, but I'm still convinced that Peter and Brian were originally a completely separate idea from Stewie and Lois. The baby that wants to take over the world, but can't because he's a baby and his mom keeps stopping him just by treating him like a baby, is clearly a concept that could work on its own, and has nothing to do with Peter and Brian, who are basically just Peabody and grown-up Sherman, but with the twist that Peabody is a more realistic "smart guy," and Sherman is an adult, and therefore comes off as retarded. MacFarlane also worked on Dexter's Lab, and the similarities between Dexter and Stewie are obvious. You can see he got some inspiration from that previous job he had. >>34981 There probably were other people who worked on both. The Critic was a similar show on the same network that ended not too long before Family Guy began. But MacFarlane was working at Cartoon Network at the time.

>>35542 That is some good work expressing different emotions through the girl's face and using shadows to add a sense of danger. The credits say it was done by someone at Make Visual which puts out some nice looking stuff. https://makevisual.com/originals

>>35702 >yet It's incredibly old at this point but shockingly very little porn.
>>37334 The animation gets better as it goes but the series really needs some better accurate subs. The ones we do have are practically dub titles. Similar issue with Lastman where the only subs available for season 2 are horrific quality in every way. You'd think there'd be a stronger frenchaboo sub community out there.

>>38273 >My country was one of 5 where this aired I had completely forgotten this existed, I think I watched 2-3 episodes of it, but the timeslot was really fucky and dragged on towards dinner time. Thanks anon, might give it a watch Now all I need to find is that weird Germanic show with the birds where every frame of the animation is yellow.
