Despite the fact that, in my opinion, the official conclusion pretty clearly drew an end to the story, there is apparently still ambiguity about Ongezellig's nonexistant future. I have to go into this subject with some rigour than I'd like to to dispel all doubts.

In the end, it was better to pull the plug in a timely way than keep people strung along forever. I expect the same treatment when I have dementia. Furthermore, Ongezellig is over because of a sum of these reasons. Singling out any one of them is a case of tunnel vision.
>Why the greater support from the history cartoon audience?
I am an adult Dutchman and make videos in Dutch on Dutch subjects, regardless of whether they are history cartoons or Ongezellig. My viewers are mostly adult Dutch persons, though a large portion of my international audience are far younger and from every corner of the Earth. Besides the obvious language, cultural, and generational barriers, Onvezellig is often interacted with in a way that conflicts with the tastes of thirty-year-old Dutch retards (he uses the term "cheeshead" here, which is derogatory when used by others, typically used to refer to all Dutchmen by Belgians but specifically by people from the Southern Netherlands (where Maya is from) to refer to Hollanders, but when used by the Dutch in reference to themselves, such as in this case, it's jocular. "Boomers" would be the Woolsey-tier choice for this.). So the author is alien to his public and visa versa, which reminds me of why Doe Maar stopped in 1984. "The band had difficulty coping with their success and felt a growing distance from their increasingly younger audience, who often responsded to them in an overly rabid manner." Ergo, it is not a personal attack when I say that I generally -though there are many individual exceptions- have more of an affinity with the audience of my history cartoons.

Then gaps are filled by outsiders who sometimes make illogical conjectures that seem more like wishful thinking than the truth. (This next section is written in English.) This document is the official word of the creator and anything that’s not in here was probably made up by some rando for whatever reason.

One can only guess. Even with all the suggestions I see, I personally don't think so. Living off crowdfunding is only for the biggest successes, and Ongezellig is simply not that, especially considering how much labor the "success" of Ongezellig required. Returning to the topic of tunnel vision, even if the target could be achieved and maintained, I'd still be in a slump and burned out. If the prospects had been more favorable, I could have overcome these things, but in this situation, it's unwise to put my career on the line.

It's not like you could finish the Diary of Anne Frank. (Jesus Christ, Massa.) Bringing the dead back to life only creates zombies. A little fanart here and there is fine, but taking inspiration from Ongezellig for your own work is far better.
