Online Animator and animations Thread. Anonymous 10/12/2020 (Mon) 04:27:33 No. 6005
Haven't seen a thread about this as long as I've been on this site. What are your favorite western web animators you like so far? I enjoy Joel G's work so far, and he's a pretty decent animator so far. Especially with the Hands Up! Miniseries.

>>10315 Fuck. Forgot how to link I guess. Fuck it. I'll just mp4 it.
>>10314 Foamy the Squirrel is the only thing of note the creator made right? Makes sense he wouldn't let it die. It's the only thing generating interest.
The Blender animated short films are a beauty, especially if the software used is completely free to use. A shame that any plans for a feature film are scrapped.
>>10322 >A shame that any plans for a feature film are scrapped. But anon if the tech is free what's stopping you from using it to make a feature film hmmm?
>>10331 Rendering hardware isn't cheap. Hope you have several servers that are good for a rendering farm.
>>6005 Another new episode of Hands Up! by Joel G released today.
>>10318 Correction: The clown bitch gaining weight is what peaked interest and the artstyle resembling Invader Zim's.

>>10331 >>10346 You cold always get around it by doing real time rendering in one of videogame engines and capturing the footage. That or planning and testing things autistically, to make sure everything will render properly on first go in most cases, and wait for ever until process finishes.

A new cartoon made by the creator of cliffside and internacion cube will premiere on GLITCH, the creators of Sunset Paradise and Meta Runner's youtube channel. Video Related.
>>14462 I thought he had learned to use Blender but it's actually a studio doing it, presumably for free. Lee needs to figure out how to get his shit off the ground. This is a classic formula for one party getting sad and walking away.
>>14486 My only gripe with liam is how most of his works remain unfinished especially his earlier works but to be fair some of his earlier works like his creepypastas he can't continue due to getting into the animation industry not to mentioned he admitted to being tired of them already.
>>14494 Yeah, which says 'ideas guy'. Also, he clearly doesn't have a feel for maintaining a certain power level. Internecion Cube ballooned way too early. There's a beauty in small constrained stories!

>>14508 Here's the trailer for his new show Murder Drones, a post-apocalyptic show where humanity gets replaced with robots but also left behind murderous machines named after the title of the show.

>>18364 Ah, they're robots but they act exactly like humans. How very quirky and original.
>>18369 Which might make some sense if they were on Earth; designed to be more humanlike for human interaction, but it says in the trailer they're mining on exoplanets, so why the hell do they look and sound and act like they do? It's like no one put any thought into any of this.

>>19254 IT was surprisingly disappointing and I'm pretty sure the only dynamic he knows how to write is "Strong-willed girl and the cute """adorkable""" boy that tags along". It's really annoying because at least with internacion cube we had the horror aspects, and some budding stuff in the background. I'm already one episode in and I'm sick of Uzi. Also they killed the only interesting character J because that mix of blatant corporate shill and psychopathic murderer was fun. Though, as a robot-fucker, I appreciate V effectively being ass-out the entire time. Shame she's gone now and we're stuck with00-Z
>>20147 >Ass out I just assumed those were White shorts
(252.94 KB 1434x2048 FD_f4mDWQBs2CVb.jpg)

>>20150 Well they're the same color as the rest of her "skin" and you can see the part where the leg joins the hip so I'm choosing to interpret it as just full robo-ass 24/7. Wish there was more art, though.
>>20147 What did you expect? These kinds of characters are written because the writer can't handle anything else, especially in the last few years.
>>20154 I know, and considering his body of work I shouldn't be surprised, but this is basically internecion cube but somehow worse. I guess it's because, shooting for a series, he can't just kill off humans like he did. (Rule of Germany: if they're Robots, it's cool to commit mass murder). But I wish he'd at least have resolved the encounter with the weeaboo pair first.
>>19254 This is really high production value for internet animation standarts. Something that I really like is that the character design looks like something that could be easily put into actual toys, they look cheap to mass produce. I hope it gets more episodes. >>20154 I mean, I know this guy haven't done anything besides "Strong-willed girl and the cute """adorkable""" boy that tags along" for the last couple of years but I still expected something more elaborated from him. Maybe it's just that Liam Vickers has a femdom fetish.
>>19254 Needs more robots that appear old fashioned, decommissioned, or at least without a face at all. Too much of the dialogue and quips is annoying, too.
>>20167 >Gets ntr'd >Kills two of three people involved I like this limey bot.
>>20109 He hired Shmorky, so he's sort of a producer? >>20167 >Robot working for a corporation finally snaps and starts fucking up humans Can't believe GTA did it first, but it's no match to Impotent Rage.
>>20167 Damn, being British must be hard.
Animated shorts from a youtube animator called "I can't sleep". I like how the animator's artstyle takes some inspiration from Jhon Vasquez. Most of them are just a goth chick getting, killed or suffering from creepy horrifying demises and there's no central plot.
>>27875 Her shorts reminds me of newgrounds emo kids back in the day.
Alfabusa counts as animation?
>>27894 Technically? Atleast his new series has more going for it in terms of art, but then again its WoD and thats super gay, atleast they are playing hunters.
>>27894 I don't see why not? He's still animating even if the character movements are limited and has logs of exposition every now & then.

>>36344 I didn't know he made porn, I had to double check if it was a parody account, that explains why is he so popular even in DeviantArt.
>>36369 Yeah, he makes porn. Although it's not very noteworthy, I think he became popular because he made holy Mary lewds.
>>36370 >not very noteworthy I disagree. The Mary lewds were controversial & lead to him even repenting over them because he ended up crushing his foot with weights after drawing them.
>>36372 What I mean is that his lewds aren't bad but they aren't spectacular either; they are just fine, I prefer his Skyla comics by far. I should storytime them some day.
>>36384 I think they're neat enough.
>>36370 He also drew a fucking rule63 Chris Chan, as if Chris' ego wasn't already enormous.
So this Weebl guy comes in mind from time to time so I've decided to see if he keeps uploading crap after the Huzzah fiasco: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=VfgjrWFEVxo >Merry gushy Christmas to everyone except Ben Shapiro So now he's shitting on American conservatives just to gain some relevancy, he decided to grow up from sex jokes and toilet humor to be the same with a dosage of liberalism.
>>36476 What was the huzzah fiasco? I know he faded from relevancy, but I had no idea it was from controversy.
Gooseworx + Glitch Productions made a CGI cartoon pilot about some virtual kind of circus. It's getting a lot of attention.
>>36973 Has potential, but it feels like I've watched this before. In fact, for some reason, it reminded me of that Learning with Pibby cartoon that was advertised a few years ago: >>>/co/19450
>>36973 >>36974 And, I think I just realized why I got the feeling of already having "watched" this. The idea comes across as another "We're all in purgatory" (That's been beaten to death since Lost did it), or "Cosmic horror in children's entertainment" (That's been the basis of the entire "Such-&-Such Theory" JewTube channels for the same amount of time).
>>36975 >>36974 >>36973 This concept has been around for years, got popularized with Happy Tree Friends. Don't Hug me I'm Scared is probably the only good one because its more subtle about it.
>>36973 I love the animation, but the writing just feels bad. At least I got waves of porn for a new clown girl.
>>36973 >>36974 >>36975 And, I think I just found a problem with the type of format of the show they're going for, which is how many stories can you really make for a series where the cast are essentially stranded, whereever they are, with zero chance of ever leaving. I know Gilligan's Island ran for a hundred episodes, but that also comes with knowing how many people grew tired of it after just a handful because they realized that the characters were never going to leave the island.
(268.29 KB 1280x554 SMG4 in a nutshell.jpg)

>>36976 >Don't Hug me I'm Scared It worked because it had humor on it, they know nobody would take seriously Sesame Street getting gritty, edgy while trying way too hard to be mature. >>36977 Not to mention it's so fucking flat being 2deep4U while at same time trying to be funny, the humor of the SMG4/Glitchy/RetardedSuperMario64 crew are desperately throwing shit at the fridge to see what it sticks at the current generation. The only series where it shows they gave a shit was the android murderers cartoon but they have to fucking cut it whenever the episode was getting interesting, throwing you off where they left at. What was I I expecting from the guy who keeps regurgitating sterile memes into his half-assed gmod animations?

(40.09 KB 627x627 1429779467192.jpg)

>>37007 It's all been done before. MASH would sometimes repurpose a script outline three or four times. Gilligan's Island basically gave up on them being "stranded" and let them have any modern convenience needed for the plot by saying The Professor built one. There's no guarantee that new settings will equate to good writing, either. Star Trek coasted for many years on "they went to a new planet, check out how weird it is" even when the writing was lazy. MASH and Gilligan's Island had some creative episodes even in the later years, they were just sandwiched between reheated leftovers.

>>37025 >Indie productions have become what they despised Anon, the truth of the matter is that they were always like that. However, they couldn't outright show it from the start because they lacked that reputation/power to do it and had to rely upon other people who had actual talent, or master tard-wranglers, to get where they are. And the moment that they did get to the position they wanted, they proceeded to burn anyone who helped them but how disagreed with their worldview. The irony, however, is now entire industries are infested with the exact type of people they wanted to have propogate it, and the result is absolute regret. The only question is will these people see the error of their ways and reverse course having learned a lesson and try rebuild all the bridges that they burned, or will they keep going all in on it because surely their ideology (That has never worked) will surely work this time?

>>37199 The public domain labels popped up in the 1980s, following the increasing install base of VHS player/recorder units. Warner's dire straits in the '60s did cause some Looney Tunes shorts to lose their copyrights (except for some colourings, strangely). My guess is that they were either transferred off of other tapes or a unique scan was preformed with very scratchy reels. Still, how much an original reel of one the 11 banned would go in an auction? Or the fact that they're so forbidden that even black market owners would shiver just to hear about it.

>>37231 >What's funnier is that they replaced the illiterate black woman with a white skinny girl and to this day they refuse to bring her back... Lillian Randolph herself was pissed about that. Because it put her out of a job, and it was not uncommon for black entertainers to have their likeness used as cartoon characters they voiced.
(40.13 KB 640x423 Luther King blackface.jpg)

>>37234 Something similar with Disneyland's Splash Mountain, based on an award winning film: Song of the South where the main black guy couldn't attend the Oscars because of segregated hotels, it got a new coat of paint with the forgettable Frog and the Princess retake. Having negro characters voiced by negros was progressive, nowadays it's fucking racist. You cannot please sheeple even if you try your hardest, no wonder why robots are taking over the voice acting gig. Don't be surprised if these current shitty CalArts cartoons also end up being labelled as bigoted because some terminal online faggot from TikTok got triggered.
>>37116 On the contrary. Nothing worth watching has been produced in the last 50 years. All quality content comes from the Hays Code era.
>>37235 At this point I'm surprised they're still making cartoons for actual children or labeled for kids.
>>37236 The epic of Gilgamesh was the only good story and the only good thing ever, everything afterwards is wannabe dogshit.
>>37237 Barely, kids don't watch them anymore. Half because of new tech and half because of shit cartoons. Adult Cartoons are unironically selling better nowadays. This was unthinkable a decade ago.
>>37237 Like Gravity Falls or those 2deep4u cartoons that spawned through the past decade thanks to Adventure Time. >>37241 As long adult cartoons don't really push boundaries, from Family Guy clones to Rick & Morty clones, not so different from Hannah Barbera's.

>>37392 Not to mention he's in hot water because of an unsupervised 15 year old sperg who all the sudden pulled out the allegations once the guy became famous, much like ProJared.
It seems Ruffle only works whenever it wants to, making it difficult whenever you want to reminisce ancient days of the web. Is there a mp4 or webm of this particular flash cartoon?: http://web.archive.org/web/20150928093701/http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/604021

>>37392 >Okay, what HASN'T the guy been involved with I ask myself the same question everytime I look up a VA's IMDB page, personally hate that about VA culture, but in this case: <Halo Infinite >Additional Voices <Horizon: Forbidden West >Additional Voices <Marvel's Spider-Man 2 >Street Criminals <Midnight Suns >Additional Voices <Street Fighter 6 >World Tour Citizen It seems like he's still flip flopping between leading roles in small indie projects and literal who characters in a lot of bigger projects despite being at this for over a decade. Closest thing he has to a "big break" might be Genshin, because its Genshin. >Are they seriously going to try to demand that ALL of these companies also recast the guy, Doubt it'll work, he'll just be blacklisted from future work for a little while, but a relatively indie company like this is small and agile enough to do something like that if needed. Given their audience, they'll most likely assume the worst, sac him, and ask questions later. >Alternative Names: SonicMega TIME TO MUTE

>>38915 >Eddsworld was also a victim of this if I bad remember Like Edd Gould? I don't remember anything like that related to Eddsworld, just him dying of cancer. Unless you mean after he passed and the Eddsworld series was continued by other people. I wouldn't know though since I stopped keeping up with it once Edd himself was gone.
>>38916 I mean Tord, pretty much he got harassed to no end once he got tired of voicing himself in the shorts.

all of these are future pedophiles
>>41462 Why the hell does the cartoon fandom have more predators compared to anime fans. For the few that exist in the latter they're often disassociated with most of the fandom that even kiwifags and other sorts of Drama whores don't strongly associate with them as if they're representatives of that fandom with anime fans being treated as cringe outside of accusing lolicons as predators?
>>41492 They're worshiped by a younger audience, one who is more susceptible to pressure, desperate for attention, and with just budding hormones confusing them. Anime tends to draw in older audiences due to more complex overarching plots. For anime series where sub is only available, no dub, that adds the extra requirements of extended focus and moderately fast reading skills.
>>37389 If that's edgy these people are WEAK
>>41492 >>41493 I don't know how many pedators are in anime fandoms, but I recall there were a lot of weird nutcases in anime fandoms. What normalfags would "terminally online" nowadays I suppose. I think cartoons just didn't have enough of a presence online to attract the autists needed for pedos to prey on back then.
>>41500 I mean, you had Mad Thad who got busted for CP. And arguably Digibro (formerly Digibrony, so not 100% anime related) >I recall there were a lot of weird nutcases in anime fandoms There's Mr.Anime, who's doing a life sentence for killing his entire family (parents and siblings) All in all, I think if you asked anyone about cartoon reviewers on Jewtube most would think of Mr. Enter, and he's too retarded to groom anyone.

(143.01 KB 900x900 channels4_profile.jpg)

>>41462 cosmodore was already exposed as one, not sure if any of that was true because the supposed victim of his was LSmark, don-t really think he was harmed in any way, they were probably really gay with each other and when they broke up people supported mark because he was younger. also "Just Stop" is definitely on his way to troon out.
>>41462 JelloApocalypse is too stupid to groom anyone if he was dumb enough to brag on social media about lolcowlizing an anime and adding a lot of twitter tranny slang at a time when the Sweet Baby thing had people's antennae up for any shit like that.
>>41462 >Cosmodore Technically not a pedophile, just a German and made content for English-speaking audiences. Did not understand how to keep shit under control and stayed in a burger and burger-adjacent crowd. 14 is legal in Germany, but he did send sexual messages to an American 14 year old, which is illegal. >LSMark He was the one who was groomed. His wife is old and a whore. >Saberspark Not going to be a pedophile soon, but definitely on his way to being a troon. He has already lost against people calling him a furfag. He might become a child molester after trooning out.
>>41492 The allure of being a cartoon reviewer attracts a certain type of person who couldn't leave adolescence. These people tend to be immature or start as minors. Being around nostalgic cartoons and a revolving door of people increasingly younger than them every day creates a mindset that they can relate to kids more than people their age. While this is technically true, they also have a more developed mind and more experience compared to children. It's like an inverse of Michael Jackson, who lost his childhood and tried to regain it as an adult in such a way that people thought he was a pedophile when he was actually a completely legal major sex pervert. Look at creepypasta narrators, letsplayers (especially Minecraft), e-sports players (especially Smash), speedrunners, and horrortubers for similar situations. This sort of behavior is rampant in black and homosexual communities too.
