Made a post a few days about how the board can be re-grown and anons seemed to like it, reposting as a more organized and clearer operation post now, what better day than 8chan's birthday (well, a day late maybe) to remind people there's still hope, this should be considered an operation, since site power directly translates to ability to impact in greater ways.
OPERATION MAX REVIVE
The board needs more users and activity, we have lost many anons along the way since the loss of 8chan prime and by extension much of our power, and we need to rebuild that proper. Here are some basic, super-simple ways that any anon can do to increase the userbase and activity here:
>post across the entire board
This is easy. Go to the catalog, find threads you like, and
post in them, link them here if you want or something, that shouldn't be a problem. Or make new ones if you don't see threads you want to post in. Don't just stay
only in the GG threads, a board needs activity as a whole to be healthy.
No-brainer examples: The drawthread, go request, encourage, or draw shit there now. My requests keep getting answered. We have too many artists to go around, which is a good problem to have, but their talents are wasted if they don't have fun things to draw. The Friday Night threads are fine too, anyone can participate in them. Other than that, there should be something for everyone, and if not, go make it.
Activity creates activity.
>recruit/befriend anons personally wherever they are
There are plenty of places with practically confirmed anons like old Steam groups,GG hubs like KiA, or anyone who's drawn a Vivian on an art site, or whatever.
You can show them shit like OC or cool things from this place like our streaming site to draw them back in and let them know we're alive and breathing, many don't even know we exist.
Some links for example I got just from searching up "8chan" on Steam:

Other sites that might yield fruitful results and have anons (art sites use an account so you can see 18+ content):

I also heard of some anons being on Telegram or something, people talked about this during some streams in the stream thread.
Just talk to 'em or something.
>Make your own OC/memes/content and have fun
Original content draws people to the board and is a strong incentive to be a part of a community, doesn't matter its a shitty meme/edit like the one I just made here, its something (well, as long as its not a nujak anyways). Its pretty fucking easy to edit or make your own shit. I've made my own webms for this place, like the 500K get vid for examples.
Learn to draw if you want, doesn't really matter as long as you're creating shit. Original content is part of what people coming, its what separates this board from many others.
>encourage and do fun things and projects
Things like 8chan-mania, gamenights, bringing back drawpiles for the threads and reviving loomis, game dev shit like demo days, re-translations like what /nep/ used to have, what zzz has been doing with their magazines, the stream thread has some things going on like this, but really anything along these lines is a good idea.
It doesn't have to be those specific things, you can come up with new things, those are just examples. Miss something that you think could be brought back? Give it a try, it can't hurt.
>encourage assimilation to newfags who might be valuable
I spoonfed a new-looking drawfag because he was trying to contribute. You can feel free to bully newfags as always, but don't
completely kill them unless they're actual soyjak posting cancer, if you think there's a chance they might be valuable, let them know there
is a way they can have fun here and encourage them. We've gotten newfags that do actually contribute, like the sexy sprites threads from ShinPepi for example.
Gatekeeping is meant to keep out those who would destroy the board, not those who would help it improve.
>use other boards and contribute if you feel like it
Probably the hardest one to do here since you need activity to get activity for a lot of the dead ones, but don't be afraid to start something, and check periodically at least. We could try having a "hunger games" thing like where a board gets advertised. Don't force discussion to go to a board though, just
encourage discussion on those boards. Try to recruit those who want boards here as well, I remember someone on /digi/ mentioning they wanted to move a board here for example, but that was a while ago.
Side note for the moderation/administration: Work with this operation and encourage posting rather than stifling discussions or forcing things to other places, don't be overly restrictive during this time. The last thing we need is overly strict moderation when we're trying to revive the board, just clean up the shit and the bad actors, and while you're at it, do your part to grow the board and post as well since you're users too.
This should be considered an ongoing operation, but my suggestions for milestones to know we make progress might be when we hit a 300 user high (for /v/), then 500, 700, 1000, and so on, it helps us know we're making progress and growing again.
In a nutshell, a board needs users, activity, OC, good moderation that encourages and works with the users rather than against them, fun projects and activities, memes, and eventually, we'll have the ability to affect the world in larger ways again, just be consistent about this.
Anyone who also has any common sense and simple ideas that would increase activity should suggest it, but I know for a fact that these
will grow the board if they are actually done.
