UBISOFT - Filing a complaint
In June 2020, dozens of testimonies emerged on social networks, quickly supported by articles in various media (Libération and Numérama in particular), denouncing cases of sexual harassment within the Ubisoft group with the complacency of the Human Resources departments, protecting the harassers and silencing the victims.
Very quickly, Solidaires Informatique announced that it was launching a collective action against the Ubisoft group.
On 15 July 2021, a complaint was filed with the Bobigny criminal court by Maude Beckers, representing both the Solidaires Informatique union and several victims of the company.
The complaint targets several individuals, including:
> Tommy FRANÇOIS - Member of the Editorial Board
For using his position to harass multiple people.
> Serge HASCOËT - World Creative Director
For taking advantage of his position to harass multiple people.
He witnessed the actions of his subordinates, yet did nothing to stop them.
> Serge Hascoët's assistant
For taking advantage of his proximity to Mr Hascoët to harass multiple people.
> Several people - Human Resources Department
For having actively participated in covering up and concealing the acts of the harassers.
> Cécile CORNET - World Director of Human Resources.
Aware of the facts, she allowed the harassment to flourish within the company.
> Yves GUILLEMOT - CEO of Ubisoft
As CEO, he is responsible for what happens within the company.
More importantly, the complaint targets the Ubisoft group as a legal entity for institutional sexual harassment. For having set up, maintained and reinforced a system where sexual harassment is tolerated because it is more profitable for the company to keep harassers in place than to protect its employees. Harassment, tolerated and practiced by the top levels of the company, protected by the HR department, has created a company-wide system. Beyond the list of individuals mentioned above, it is the workings of this system that this complaint seeks to dismantle.
The collective nature of this complaint allows all people who have been victimised by the Ubisoft group to join this action. We therefore call on them to contact us, whether to testify or to file a complaint. It is not necessary to be a union member. Any legal costs will be covered by the union. We guarantee total confidentiality and legal support.
