I heard about >>7532 on some podcast on Jaipur Dialogues. Great discussion. Wanted to buy the book , can't find it on Amazon Germany. Amazon India wouldn't let me buy it but would other books. Finally todays post reminded me, found the publishers website. Will order it directly from publisher. But the platform issue is a real annoyance that I have faced too many times. Amazons new formats also don't work conversion tools anymore. This is very annoying for me.

Ideas don't have validity ad nauseam. Their limits and domains need to be defined. Tolerance as an idea should also have a clear domain and limits. Should threats to dharma be tolerated ? This is usually used to attack other religions, but we must first begin with being intolerance of internal misdeeds and adharma propogated by self. Then extend it to things like curroption, greed, pollution etc.

Don't know about that actually, I don't think they cared that much. For them these were barely distinct entities. It was the Muslim league who insisted on Pakistan and the INC which opposed this, they just compromised and divided us into three. I was saying, it looks like the Muslim league wanted to chop off Kashmir from the mainland so they could easily annex it later. Who knows why they didn't lay claim to Kashmir as well at the same time. It's complicated as all hell. Sometimes I think about history and wonder how we made it this far, and think about the present and think how in the world this country runs even as well as it does. Maybe the lesson is that shit happens but life goes on no matter what, and to make the best of your time here.

Add to that Gandhi and his pals, who would destroy momentum on every movement. More importantly, British wanted Kashmir as a listening station against the Russians.
